Homosexual Leader Calls AIDS 'a Gay Disease'
Drea replied to scribblet's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Oleg, it's wisened age. As we get older we get smarter and the idea of the "conquest" isn't as appealing as it was for the younger self. I hope you find a sweet, smart woman to share the rest of your life with. -
Homosexual Leader Calls AIDS 'a Gay Disease'
Drea replied to scribblet's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
As WIP pointed out, it's not because they are "gay" that they are promiscuous, but because they are "men". Not that there is anything wrong with male promiscuity... I just want to agree with WIP that it's not just a gay issue. It's a behaviour issue. Men are taught to consume sexual partners, that they are not "real" men (gay or not) unless they've screwed x number of people. Ever hear of a man telling people he's a virgin? -
Who will McCain choose as VP?
Drea replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You are the one whining... crying and lamenting that Canadians have no right to talk about an American presidential race. -
You are wrong. Bullying can take many forms, it is not necessarily something done physically to a person. You are obviously unaware of psycological bullying. Why do you think there is all kinds of info on the net warning parents that their kids are being bullied online? According to you, it's not bullying if it isn't physical. That post above mine -- bullying. Pure. Simple. Constantly belittling someone is bullying. and really Dancer, if you are not going to contribute to the convo, why not just stay away from the thread? Why do you feel the need to wander around the board insulting folks? Does it make you feel good? Don't answer -- rhetorical question. You must have awfully low self esteem if you have to beat others down to make yourself feel good.

Chalk that up to "there are idiots everywhere". Get over it BC 2004. This is a Canadian board (hence the name -- maple leaf web (not stars and stripes web).. do you think people should stay away from topics with "America" in them? You a lefty-protectionist or what? BC2004 says "only Americans are allowed to comment on the presidential race 'cause it's not Canada's president." Like a little kid -- "that's my mommy and you are not allowed to talk to or about her!!" -
I was at a mall in the parking lot having a smoke before I went in.... the mall is not located on a reserve. So the native was illegally trying to sell cigarettes to me. They are also not allowed to sell salmon off reserve but they do. When I was a kid, we used to go "dipping" for salmon in the Fraser River. We never took more than we could eat. And yes, it was illegal, but sure was fun (I was the lookout and many times I raced to the river on my Yamaha to save everybody from the DFO) We never once sold the salmon... we ate it -- we did not make a profit from the fish. And isn't that what the natives are supposed to do -- eat the salmon themselves; smoke the cigs themselves? They don't care about "maintaining" their culture -- they care about what everyone else cares about -- making money.

And the people are so full of hope for their "candidate". same old same old. No matter who wins (Dems, Repubs, Hillary, Obama...) nothing will change. America's course to self destruction was set in the Reagan days and the march to third world status will continue... jobs, healthcare, foreclosures... no one (not even Jaysus hisself) can save America now. BC 2004 --> Canada doesn't have Presidents... we have Prime Ministers. You know, like Britain. -
I was approached just the other day to purchase cigs from natives. I declined. But the offer was there for me to buy them. Is this legal?

This could also mean that god is an alien and as a space traveller, would be aware of many other "earths"... We can disect this one sentence: My father (a creator, not necessarily an invisible entity -- could be a technologically advanced extraterrestrial.) my father's house (the universe) has many mansions (there are many habitable planets) It's all in the interpretation. And saying that JW's interpret it "wrong" is wrong itself as no one knows anything for sure about the beginning (middle or end) of everything. I lean toward evolution, but do not rule out the idea that we were created by aliens. -
Disneyland' comes to Baghdad with multi-million pound entertainmen
Drea replied to kuzadd's topic in The Rest of the World
You too are free to use the ignore button if you so choose. No one is forcing you to read my posts. Cheers! Many Americans think that people need their loud, in-your-face brand of entertainment. I would rather a child have clean water and access to healthcare and education. When a person has no food, no education the USian comes along and "appeases" them (or tries to) with *cheap entertainment. But kids gotta have fun right?! Even starving children like rides right? No food in the tummy means they won't puke -- win win! *cheap -- meaning lousy not inexpensive. -

Really? Tell all those Americans with no health care that disease prevention and healthcare are NOT run by private business in it for the profit. There is absolutely no sense in comparing Disneyworld or the Make a Wish Foundation to this proposed theme park in Iraq. For one thing, most Americans have access to clean water, food, schools... the necessities of life. While most Iraqis do not have such access. But not only do you not understand this, you simply don't care, so long as some American Corporation is making a buck you are happier n' a pig in shit, bringin' the good ol 'merican dream to the world Because "Mickey Mouse" is essential to the health and wellbeing of people everywhere! -

Oh well. Seems some have a hard time taking a joke... but no problems dishing them out. *shrug* -

Kuzadd. You are talking to an American... of course she believes entertainment comes before clean water. Next we will see Iraqi IDOL being broadcast... and all the Iraqi kids can shake their booty for the camera! Tis the "merican way baby! -
Life begins when the creature can live outside of it's host. That being said, I believe elective abortion (non life threatening) should be limited to the first trimester. So you advocate that women's rights be rescinded? That we shouldn't have the same rights as other human beings? Because some women choose to abort their fetuses, you are willing to give up everything? What rights do women want respected that dismiss the rights of others? And it is working. If you do not believe in abortion don't have one. Simple.

The right could care less if a child falls out of the back of an old Ford pickup on a dirt road while holding a loaded 30-30... but be damned if some hippy is going to smoke a jay It was me who brought this up, not jbg. I said nothing about it being legal... I was simply pointing out the hypocracy of the rightwing who want to control what peope ingest but are against laws that protect children. And I was correct, as Guyser stated "It is legal to ride in the back of a pick up. In fact you could cram 12 kids in there and no one could do a damn thing" She basically said it's just fine and dandy to put children in the back of a pickup... but NOT okay for a person to smoke a jay. Hypocracy at it's very finest. It's okay to let children fall out of pickups but not okay for an adult to smoke marijuana. *shaking head at the backwardness*

This is a travesty for consumers and small businesses! Eyeball, I currently take a calcium/magnesium natural supplement. Friend of mine takes kelp (capsules). We buy from a Canadian source. I would stop taking it if I had to buy otherwise. "Conventional" medicine (pharma chemicals) do not work. Our bodies need natural herbs, vitamins and minerals to survive. Chemicals are a lousy substitute. A while back my doctor told me I had arthritis (sore wrists) and prescribed a medication that made me drowsy. Great. I went to a chiropractor and now I have no hand pain. Doctors are paid (wooed mostly) by big pharma to push their chemical cures, which at best, mask symptoms (or cause side effects). I haven't been to a gp for more than three years and have no need. My chiro and natureopath keep me healthy. MDancer, do you think that eyball here (who already has a proven, tested and government approved product) should have to close because of this bill?

She now has a criminal record. A criminal record for no reason other than ... geez I cannot even think of ONE logical reason to stop people from enjoying weed. The rightwing wants to control individual behaviour -- whether or not it affects other persons. (marijuana laws, abortion, ssm) The leftwing wants to control individual behaviour that has a negative affect on other persons. (smoking in cars, leaving babies unattended etc. ) The right could care less if a child falls out of the back of an old Ford pickup on a dirt road while holding a loaded 30-30... but be damned if some hippy is going to smoke a jay.

Global Warming to Stop - CO2 Role Exagerrated
Drea replied to Riverwind's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
The earth is just humming along doing what it does. It is a planet with no "sense" of "who" or "what" is upon it's crust. I'm sorry Margrace, but the earth doesn't have feelings and thoughts.... what occurs on the earth (hurricanes, etc) are not thought-out actions by a vindictive earth. Just nature. While we may think it cruel, it's not. It's life on planet earth and sometimes people and animals die for no "reason". -

That is ridiculous. My mother earth is going through her natural changes. She is still recovering from her last ice age. And yes, humans contribute somewhat, but even without human beings the earth would still be warming... Next she goes through menopause... Hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes are PMS... May Mother Earth Continue to Bless You and Yours -
Thanks AW. Don't have time right now to go through any links... But I briefly looked through it and boy oh boy.... The woman's right to choose is paramount IMO. No one should be able to control another person's bodily functions.

Hey Guyser, I am still wondering about the injunction... Googled "Injunction Before Birth" and came up with nothing. google Did you just make that up? The only link I found that included "Injunction Before Birth" is comments in this forum. Elaboration would be great Guyser!
