  1. I'm sure that once the other stores in Vancouver get this new camera in it'll have the same shitty list price that London Drugs slapped on it. The price of $369 that I saw in Burlington's Costco was not any kind of a sale price, it was the list price also. That's what boggles the mind. I produced Panasonic's MSRP of under $400 U.S., and Renegade produced an MSRP of $599 Canadian. This doesn't make sense! I'll get to the bottom of it yet ... in time.
  2. Macleans Magazine has a good article in it this week. It seems that many of our dedicated Canadian doctors are just plain tired of treating grumpy & unhappy sick people. So they're changing their practices over to giving Botox injections & laser hair removals. Ten years of training subsidized by us so that they can do procedures that a Estee Lauder clerk in The Bay could do. We may be going to die young because of our lack of medical care ... but Canadians are going to make very good looking corpses.
  3. Panasonic's MSRP is under $400 U.S. and I'm supposed to be happy paying way over $500 U.S.? That's nuts! http://www.digitalcameraboutique.com/page2...ic_dmc_fz7.html "We feel the FZ7 will make an excellent choice for any consumer in the market for an affordable 'super-zoom' model. With an MSRP of under $400 dollars, it offers a great 'bang for your buck' and is sure to be a very popular model this year."
  4. This is a very sad day for Canada, IMO. The first thing that came to my mind was that Alberta perhaps may be ready to take on the Quebec loving CPCers, and Preston's duking it out with the Harperites could be at times wrongly interpreted. Too bad! http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...epath=News/News
  5. Satisfaction Guaranteed Your satisfaction is guaranteed at London Drugs. If any merchandise purchased isn't to your complete satisfaction, return it to any London Drugs store within 15 days ... So I should return it and pay no mind that my fellow Canadians are getting screwed? You know, that's so typical here in Canada ... the majority of Canadians don't care about their fellow men. No wonder Medicare's getting away with murder. It's so sad.
  6. We've been gouged by 20 to 25% on just about everything for years, and most digital cameras are no different from books etc. etc.. 25% is the norm. It's only this particular brand spanking new model of Panasonic, DMC - FZ7 KCP, that's up by a whopping 50% in Canada today, and that's what ticks me off. The saying ... "One picture is worth a thousand words" is true ... and with this new Panasonic it's probably worth even more. So don't worry about the damn books etc. etc .... Panasonic DMC FZ7 KCP is where it's at! How do you smuggle one over?
  7. Just recently I bought a brand new Panasonic digital camera (DMC - FZ7 KCP), EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR (12 X optical zoom that STILL fits in one's pocket). I bought it at Canada's "London Drugs" store for $ 595. I was so happy with that purchase. But after my weekend picture taking trip to Washington State where I found out that that very same camera sells there for only $ 369 US I'm ready to blow some Canadian heads off!!! Can you help?
  8. EXACTLY! The only way the Ottawa Senators can win the Stanley Cup is if they instead start playing .... http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/dominiq.htm Watch for it tonight!
  9. For those of you who loved the Illuminatti & want to vote for one ... looks like we'll have a candidate in our next election. I knew there was something I liked about that guy! http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/Pag...orce_login=true

  13. Well, one time I had a chest X-ray done ... and two weeks later another doctor prescribed the same test for me. When I told him I had one done recently, he (basicaly) said that that was fine and that having another one wouldn't hurt me. (???) I hope you DON'T get X-rayed daily, sir!
  14. HERE'S A GOOD ONE: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums/index.p...449entry72449 He stopped posting here a few month back. Health reasons? Perhaps. But my BEST bet is that he ran afoul of T-bag.
  15. And how about those Senators? You know what I suspect? I suspect that Bush is dying to give Harper a very special gift. And I cannot think of a better gift for a hard core hockey enthusiast than handing him this year's Cup on a platter. The only question is ... will George fix it so that the team from the province where Stephen's heart is will win, or will it be from the province where his ass that will win? I'm betting on the latter.
  16. A couple of years ago Dr. Michael Marmot was involved in this study: http://www.wineloverspage.com/wineadvisor1/tswa040816.phtml "Of people who reported drinking alcohol in the past year," the researchers' abstract says, "those who consumed at least one drink in the past week, compared with those who did not, were significantly less likely to have poor cognitive function. These benefits appeared even at levels of alcohol consumption that most sensible observers would consider excessive; in fact, the cognitive benefits appeared greatest among the heaviest drinkers, those drinking more than 240 grams per week, approximately 30 drinks or five full bottles of table wine. The authors concluded that for middle-aged subjects, increasing levels of alcohol consumption were associated with better function regarding some aspects of cognition ." Looks like this guy could be a lager lout.
  17. I looked up Calgary Real Estate ...... and look what I found: http://www.cren.ca/content_view2?CONTENT_ID=1744 2005 New Home Maket ..... 12,200 2005 Resale Market ........ 42,400 Which means that in 2005 4 out of 5 Calgary home buyers did NOT pay the GST. Nationally it's more like 6 out of 7 (my estimation).
  18. You know that new car smell? I hate it! The same goes for houses! And so do most other people, for how else would used car and used house sales outnumber the new ones by such a large margin?
  19. If you happen to be an average earner (around 40 Gs) your pocket was picked, you'll lose 100 bucks a year. But if you are big time spender and purchase 10,000 worth of goods to which GST applies, you'll be back to even. Bill Graham is right! All Billy Boy was able to talk about was the increase in the marginal tax rate from 15% to 15.5%. No recognition given to the reduction of the GST, the child care allowance or the myriad other tax changes favorable to the taxpayer. We would have seen none of these if the Martinites were still in power. I made a mistake in my calculation. As it turns out the average earner's (that's me) yearly take home pay will shrink by over $200. I know I will not even get close to recouping that money by getting on Harper's social engineering bandwagon. And since I enjoy my tobacco and liquor .... all I can say is ...... GOD WILL GET YOU FOR THAT, STEVIE BOY!!!

  21. Over 80% of Alberta's MPs openly agree with you that it's ridiculous. Add to that those that would secretly support Preston Manning's campaign and Geoffrey's idea is ridiculous plus! One thing that I do not agree with in the article below is that "Manning won't enter the race unless he's 90% certain he's going to win." 99.9% is more likely. When he enters put all your money on him, because he can't lose. http://calsun.canoe.ca/News/Alberta/2006/0...560178-sun.html
  22. Here in Lotus Land we say "why is the sky grey" ... rains all the time ... we don't tan, we rust. Pretty depressing. Add to that Teddy's suspension and it's enough to make you sing the blues. Greg should put up a karaoke forum. Anyhow, in solidarity with Teddy Ballgame I'm OUT OF HERE. Not a peep until he's allowed back. Unless I break down while using my listening handle, of course. Auf Wiedersehen!!!!
  23. No lies about what Michael Ignatieff said or didn't say will help your Italian Stallion get into the money. From: http://www.cbc.ca/sunday/ignatieff.html "I don’t know that realism quite gets it, Evan, I think there has been evolution in what I think. Certain parts of me are utterly unchanged, I’m a kind of Pierre Trudeau, gay marriage, tax and spend liberal on the social domestic side" Anyone that wants to be like Trudeau is not someone I want running my country. You forgot to quote what he said next: "I’m a blue-state tax and spend liberal as I’ve said –" Had Bill Clinton been a President in the 60's he'd have spent like a drunken sailor too, because it was fashionable back then. But did slick Willie blow a wad in the 90's (except on Monica's dress)? No. And neither will Iggy. Anyway ... you can bet your bottom dollar that he'll explain better than I can what he meant by that during the race. Soon I hope. The sooner the better, THAT'S for sure! GO IGGY GO!
  24. My point is .... However, the main point of my thread was to try, yet again, to knock into as many people's heads as I can the simple fact that Medicare's main reason for shunning the early diagnosis of some cancers in older adults is for one very very simple reason .... it is much cheaper to treat once the cancer is in full bloom. So Harper now continues in the Liberals' footsteps by pretending that hips & knees are Medicare's biggest problems, followed by waiting times for treatments of diseases of His choosing. Ever since the great Pierre Trudeau's reign this criminal behavior grew by leaps and bounds .... and the only person I fully trust not to stoop to this "money saving" scam is another great man, Michael Ignatieff. GO MICHAEL GO!
