Broken Justice - these infuriating cases have it all
sharkman replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's a fair question that you sidestepped. We still need stiff sentences even if the justice system isn't perfect. Also, in today's courtroom with modern evidence gathering techniques, there is much less chance of the innocent being imprisoned than there is of a murderer getting off on a technicality. -
Brigitte Bardot on trial for Muslim slur
sharkman replied to WarBicycle's topic in The Rest of the World
I'm aware that the Bible talks about sacrifices being a sweet savour to God, but my point(which it seems I didn't include) was that the sacrifices were usually for the atonement of sin, not to somehow earn forgiveness based on whether God could smell that particular sacrifice or not. I'm not sure now what your definition of a soul is, but in that verse a pretty generic definition of God's hearing Abel's voice and can mean many things. As a Christian today, these things seem pretty distant to my faith, perhaps that's why I objected so strongly. At any rate, WRT animal slaughter or many things, religion is given an accord of respect in ours and most societies. If the religious feel that they've sinned by eating unclean food, I don't see the harm in it. Personally, I always buy Kosher hotdogs if I can find them, what goes in wieners these days is pretty gross. -
Cult Tipster is an Obama Delegate
sharkman replied to WarBicycle's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Look, you know and I know that there are crimes being committed. That is not the point. The point is can it be proven in a court of law. The court will look at the evidence and if it was gathered lawfully. If it was gathered unlawfully, then the court has to throw it out, and the lawbreakers go free. Since the children were seized under a fraudulent warrant, there is no case. -
RCMP raids Tory party headquarters

Oleg, you've made many posts this morning/afternoon, and they all ramble over several topics and do not address the comments nor the thread topic. Could you dumb it down a little for us please? -

Yeah, uh... Anonymous phone calls happen all the time, ever hear of 911? Authorities have to check them out. Awful quick to blame it all on the tipster when she's the one who made a decision to commit fraud... -

I'm sure in you dream about jail time for this case, but back in the world of reality, they may have to give the money back. Any chance of the Liberals giving back the 200 million from Adscam? Not likely. -
Hamas accepts Israel's right to exist in peace
sharkman replied to BC_chick's topic in The Rest of the World
Yes, and you seem to be unconcerned about the elephant in the room. If they declare they will never recognize Israel's right to exist, then this whole thing is a waste of time and Jimmy Carter is being duped. AGAIN. He doesn't seem to realize that some people can't be negotiated with even though they'll sign whatever you bring them. North Korea mad a laughing stock of Carter when they signed his treaty promising to not develop Nuclear Weapons if the U.S. gave them millions, and then used the cash to develop nuclear weapons. Carter's lack of judgement makes anything he does not trustworthy, never mind his anti-semitic views. -

It's in the Friday news reports that the Liberals used the same spending techniques. National Post for one. Read this thread. It's a fine line drawn by the EC and is a disagreement over accounting. Not sleazy like Liberal insiders passing envelopes of cash to be funneled elsewhere. -

It seems to you? What evidence besides the media repeating the claims of a tipster who doesn't live on or around the commune? Obama should choose more carefully. If they find evidence of rape it will now be thrown out of court due to evidence being gathered improperly. The kook tipster has sentenced those children to be returned to an unsafe environment. And do you think the authorities will be as quick to respond the next time, possibly with an authentic call for help? No, they've had their pants yanked down in public, they'll cover their bases and double check next time, giving time for cover up and the caller to get cold feet and change the story. -

sharkman replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
??Why did you not include the numbers you were working with, and then move the goalposts? I stand by my original statement that you can't buy an election for 1.something million. That the Liberals, who used the same spending methods, are not being called on it, shows a big bias over at EC. The election wasn't bought, canadians got sick of 14 years of Liberal sleaze and lying. -

Actually 5.5%, but the Liberals, which placed district ads using federal money of around 1.3 million(using a slightly different wording/accounting), lost by 6% of the popular vote. What does that tell you? -

Your grasp of religions may be a little shakey. Semitic people still believe God is up in the sky. Animals were not sacrificed so God could smell them. Kosher slaughter of animals is not done because of a belief concerning the soul of the animal, where do you get this stuff? God gave the Hebrews very specific instructions on which animals they could eat and how to slaughter them or else the animal would be unclean. It is a completely different issue than the JW beliefs in blood. -

You don't follow? If this is true, then a whackjob quack broke the law and caused a great deal of persecution to befall this commune, who then may not be guilty of the acts upon which the raid was based. And this quack is tied to the Obama machine, and is yet another red flag to the middle. -

U.S. Presidential Elections 2008

This reminds me of Obama's appearance on Ellen, attempting to dance up a storm during the intro. They are so desperate to have him seen as a regular guy. -
Good thoughts Drea, the way you handle your finances will affect your life like nothing else. We live in a greedy instant gratification society.

Who will McCain choose as VP?
sharkman replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I think choosing anyone black at this point would only serve to energize the black vote against him, not that the black voting block needs any energizing right now. They've abandoned the wife of the first black president (I always thought that was a good one, Bubba a black president) and rallied around Obama as their saviour. Rice or Powell would immediately be branded an Uncle Tom, and McCain would be vilified for having the nerve to pick someone based on their skin colour(Can you feel the irony? That's what a good percentage of the Dems are doing right now with Obama). -
Ex-Liberal charged in Sponsership scandal!

Were the Liberals considering pulling the trigger on an election simply because Elections Canada seized some Tory documents? Talk about a knee jerk reaction. Those are amazing numbers for Quebec City. -

So this is, what, wrong? A political party wants to get its story out so meets with members of the press it wants to? You've got to be kidding, right? This happens all the time. Sometimes the politician/celebrity/CEO will pick just one member of the press, and this is called an INTERVIEW. Still other times, the politician will just issue what's called a PRESS RELEASE. The Liberals and NDP have occasionally done varieties of these things when they needed to. It's a way of getting your side of a story out there. Dobbin, let us know when you get something new. -

You need to read more. Emery broke the law repeatedly. Just because you don't like a particular law it doesn't mean you can ignore it. BTW, how did Emery "bring us Sunday shopping"? (I think I sense an Al Gore internet moment coming.)
-
Yes, their present appeal is still ongoing, but the original Elections Canada finding took very little time when compared with the Liberal adscam case.
-
I guess only some people get to appeal. Isn't it odd that only now, seven years later, that former Liberal party member gets arrested, while the CPC is found guilty of wrongdoing only less than two years after the election in question? What kind of justice is that?
-
You haven't been paying attention. As was previously mentioned, it's not a conspiracy. Now go back to your polls.
