  1. Whoops, I did mis-type. I was referring to the EC judge shopping, the Liberals obviously had nothing to do with it. Judges are not stupid, giving money to both parties will appear better than one party only. But you don't analyze a judge by the money they donate (unless it's large amounts), you look at their work, their decisions. Since his work is not available, I have not questioned his reputation. However, there was no good reason to travel to Toronto to get a warrant signed when there were plenty of judges in Ottowa. It gives the appearance that the EC couldn't get a judge there to sign it. It does not pass the smell test. And Dobbin can not find this even slightly irregular. For the record, the one example I showed about a week or two ago was Dobbin immediately jumping on a poll that showed an 11 point Tory lead(from March). He said it still didn't give the Tories a majority. Then He linked to an opposing poll that gave the Liberals higher numbers and expressed a preference for that one. Meanwhile, every poll favorable to the Liberals gets no analysis save for how good it looks for the Liberals. Look, it's fine to have a bias. Everyone has one. But Dobbin is mistaken to think he doesn't have one when he crunches polling numbers, and presents his results as fact.
  2. I'm sorry, I simply can not believe that your reading skills are such that you actually believe I was saying any such thing. I may be wrong, however...
  3. Yeah, interesting how you split hairs now when you earlier were making all kinds of broad based accusations earlier in this thread. At the same time, you can not bring yourself to objectively analyze why the Liberals got a judge in Toronto to sign a warrant for a search in a different jurisdiction, Ottowa. These lapses on your part coupled with biased reviewing of poll results you don't like make you an unreliable source of information. Nice to know I made your 'ignore' list though.
  4. You can't recall Argus responding to anyone without personalizing it? Yeah, well you also couldn't recall yourself saying that the Tories altered invoices, which I showed you did. Also, if you are going to keep playing the whining personal attack card, you will only look like a hypocrite since you do it yourself with increased regularity.
  5. Pretty much the exact same people Shady listed are also responsible for the lack of any new refineries.
  6. Uh, the Tories didn't spend into the ground in the 80's. Once they righted the Trudeau recession of 1981-82, we had a prolonged period of growth and expansion.
  7. Welcome to Arab oil cartel 101.
  8. Yes you are mostly wrong. We are connected economically to the US. 80% of all that Canada exports goes to the US market. This can't be corrected anyone soon. So when the US economy slows down and consumers stop buying stuff, it affects us in a big way. I heard this morning that their economy is now 70% based on consumer spending. OPEC doesn't raise or lower prices. They raise or lower production which should affect prices, but the main thing that is affecting prices is war and instability in oil producing countries, among other things. Harper's spending (or budget surplus) had nothing to do with the US recession. After almost 3 years, you can not call them inexperienced. Our military being in Afghanistan is costing very little, our surplus of 13 billion (can't remember for sure) can cover that quite easily. Your rant on biofuels I agree with.
  9. Hey there Dobbin, I LOL when I saw you deny saying that Tories altered invoices. Here's one such example where you said that, you really should try to keep your story straight. You are slipping. Usually, when you play the personal attack card, you refrain from hypocritical attacks at least in the same post.
  10. I'd say the Austrians have a pretty dim view of our business cycle. People that make investments are fooled? All investments look profitable, but aren't? Whatever. Let's deal in the reality of the situation, shall we? Our country is run using business theory based on capitalism. We've been having recessions since the nation started. Another one is on the way. Deal with it.
  11. Geez, you'd think no one ever heard of the business cycle before. Our economy is SUPPOSED to have a recession every now and then. It's normal. What's not so normal is the climbing food prices and the climbing gas prices. I guess we'll just have to spend more of our disposable income.
  12. Dude, it's just funny. I can't tell you why but I can say you are too serious.
  13. Actually, yes I get your point with Kosher slaughter, and understood it just as well the third time you expressed it. But I am not concerned about religious rituals like this. I just don't care. I don't know where you get your information to suppose some think animals are our play things. The creation theory/doctrine says we are to be good stewards of all that God has given us. Obviously we also disagree about evolution/creation as well, and as I said before, I am happy to let you believe what you will, until organisations that support your views and other more militant ones try to make it illegal for me to live as a Christian.
  14. So why is it when the Liberals drive from Ottowa to Toronto to get a warrant signed for a seizure in Ottowa, you can find nothing suspicious with it?
  15. That's all well and good, but the UN strategy is to allow certain favoured nations the right to pollute to their heart's content. This will NOT be offset by the G8 and other enlightened nations greatly reducing their carbon footprints! Besides, these nations have already made great strides in reducing emissions. I know it's far from perfect, but we have come a long way. But it won't matter as long as China and a dozen other countries are making their air unbreathable.
  16. One issue has been pretty much ignored by Liberal supporters: why did Elections Canada drive from Ottowa to Toronto to get a judge to sign the warrant? Aren't there judges in Ottowa? This is judge shopping plain and simple. It appears that they tried to get an Ottowa judge to sign it, but were unsuccessful. Or, avoiding the more political savvy Ottowa judges, who would have been more aware that Elections Canada was asking permission to raid the offices of the party they were embroiled in a court case with, and were to take the stand the next day.
  17. dobbin, don't be hypocritical. At the slightest provocation, you whine about personal attacks. Now you're doing the same to Argus. Play the ball and not the man.
  18. I thought not. Liberals just can't comprehend how Bush got re-elected besides using that tired old whopper, "he stole the election". I suppose I should thank you now for not trying that one. Bush disarms his opponents very effectively and it's something that you'd think they would have figured out by now. Nothing serves a politician better than being under estimated by your enemies.
  19. Ask 'most' churches what they think about Jesus and the ten commandments. I have the answer, but I don't want to spoil this discovery for you.
  20. I'm curious as to the left's theories on how Bush Jr., otherwise known as the village idiot(funny how he got into Harvard) among that group, managed to get re-elected after 4 long years of idiocy. No doubt they are blaming everyone but themselves for being unable to present a viable alternative. FYI, no president writes his own speeches. Nice thought though.
  21. Yes, that they seized documents pertaining to this very court case the day before the EC was to present their case really stinks. It seems there are many things going on behind the scene in the age old struggle for power.
  22. Most mainline christian churches accept Jesus' claim that he was God and died for the sins of the world, bringing us into the New Testament dispensation. This means that all of the laws from the OT have been replaced. That is why these churches do not follow these laws. The Jewish religion does not believe that Jesus was God and still observes the OT law. I figure they are free to do what they want. As to the soul, I was misunderstanding you based on the fact that I follow the theory that a person has a body, soul and spirit. You mean spirit as I define it when you say soul. At any rate, I disagree with you but am quite happy to leave you to your beliefs. From what I've read, the kosher killing of an animal is not as awful as you believe, but certainly the animal's life before this must be scrutinized as well. You probably have a dim view of the way most modern farms raise animals too. I just can't work up a great deal of concern over this, perhaps it's because I believe that animals were created for man, not the other way around. I think the Muslim situation goes to trying to force your beliefs on other people. It never works, and is wrong. Funny how we meandered into a religious discussion...
  23. Guyser, this is the question that you didn't answer in post 61. We need tougher sentences and more prison space so violent criminals of all stripes get more than slaps on the wrist.
  24. Are you forgetting the questions you ask as you ask them?
  25. No, I did not equate any such thing. Some things I consider to be so obvious in the context of the discussion that I don't bother to mention them. I assume that the authorities have a set list of qualities that must be met before they even ask a judge for a warrant. And the judge has a list of criteria that must be met before he signs a warrant. I wasn't counting, was it exactly 100 cops? And just like an idiot who yells fire in a theatre, a crime was committed by the tipster who set the whole thing off. Weird that she has ties to a political party.
