Yes, crude that requires more levels of refining. Canadian oil sands crude after refining would cost more per litre than crude the easie to refine, less thick, imported crude that comes up out of the ground. Canadian crude is simply to crude to be competitive. Besides, we don't have the refining resources to accomplish this for all of Canada.

Canadian's Attitudes Towards Immigrants
Leafless replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This is all mostly propaganda exept for the doctor shortage which can be blamed by doctors themselves for leaving Canadians high and dry. As long as our medical system remains public, doctors will continue to leave Canada for the U.S., basically for greed. The industries that are crying for help are the ones that don't pay initially namely the hotel and restraunt and somewhat the trucking industries. And we don't need skilled labour to do this kind of work. We don't need masses of ethnic immigrants for jobs home grown skilled Canadians need. -
This is only Shakeyhand's method of stirring the pot, in typical Liberal fashion. Truth is, Liberals are dogs.

Bloc airwaves initiative will put Harper on the spot
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That will be an almost impossible task, since the last two referendums on separation, being around 49%, including those voting against separation with many being English speaking and other minorties. This alone indicates there is a lot of francophone support for extremism. Simply being the Bloc represents blackmail. Bloc demands are pro-Quebec nationalistic cultural demands and if Harper refuses, he will be seen as being anti-Quebec. The Quebecois could very well back the Blocs nationalistic demands in large numbers, come the next federal elction, if Harper refuses their demands. I never did see the Liberals as a true national party and have been supporting and advancing Quebec ideologies for years, until receiving a little of their own type political competiton from the Conservatives. The NDP is inconsequential as far as Quebec is concerned and were never a key player. This could very well leave Liberal leader Dion, beaming in the background. -
Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. The Bloc will force the Harper government to translate its Quebec nation motion into concrete measures. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...4f-277b42df3f00 This sounds like outright blackmail: The more the federal government gives to this spoiled child of confederation, the more they will demand. Will the feds ever learn?

In Canada the word rape, in reference to domestic cases, has been 'passe' for years and is generally referred to as 'sexual assault'. -

That what the facts are, its a mix of terrorism and Intifada. You know, Muslim youth see themselves as 'soldiers of Allah'. http://southasiaanalysis.org/%5Cpapers25%5Cpaper2480.html -
Peventative medical procedures, for instance, is the best solution to help someone dying of cancer or other major illness. In a similar light, removing dysfunctionally federally imposed discriminatory legislation resulting in an artificial socially engineered society, is the best way to prevent a country from giving away its history, culture, traditons, from withering away and dying a humiliating death.

Eight percent cannot oppress but they can terrorize. So terrorism enforced anarchy is the answer, is it? -
Depends what immigrants you are talking about and as briefly as possible, impossible. For instance East Asians and Westerners differ in situationism, but not in dispostionism. Point is, ALL CULTURES ARE DIFFERENT in many ways and to debate this aspect, is beyond the scope of this board.

SO WHAT! Disliking something is personal opinion and I really don't know how this can be misconstrued as 'hate speech'. -
As it currently stands majority English speaking, Christian Canadians will soon be totally engulfed by minority ideolgies and beliefs. So I gather, you will be sitting back exclaiming 'My god that is odd, I never thought this could possibly happen'.

Mulroney a Quebec PM did what any moralistic PM would do for residents of French Quebec. Signing multicuturalism into law, combined with Trudeau's Charter is simply topping the cake with icing allowing and completing the linguistic jig saw puzzle. Isn't rule by minorities what every Canadian wants and desires? Yep, 1988 was a very bad year.

I am a heterosexual male. In my entire lifetime I have not heard another heterosexual male call another sweetheart, buttercup etc unless they are looking for trouble. Let Guyser try that in a normal bar, minus homo's, and they will be carrying him out on a stretcher. Guyser is trying to degrade in his normal homosexual fashion with homo taunts that I consider hate speech, directed against ones moral and political views, religion and heterosexual orientation.

I used quotes but not the quote function, since at that time I basically completed my replies 'off line' and used copy and paste when I posted at another time. But never have I made a reply suggesting a poster wrote something completley different than what was actually said, like several posters do here without ANY form of a quote, to prove what was actually said. Point is Renegade, you will be hard pressed to find a complaint posted by myself against another forum member relating to sentence structure, spelling etc., which I normally readily overlook and could not care less. Sean Hayward is an exception and was asked to reply properly in a more coherent manner so I could reply in a responsible, accurate manner. I am certain you can see what the problem is, but as usual Renegade does not miss an opportunity to insult or embarrass. Hope to clash with you soon.

I figured I'd stump you with that one.

Why is this BC? Don't you think somelse deserves a shot at the title? Or does the U.S. have a monoply on the world?

Democracy is a misnomer, a fairy tale. To measure democracy is simply from a + to a -, in relationship to the worlds currently considered (by some countries) most freer country, theoretically speaking of course. But back to xul's question, in the case of China, TWB should be accepted. One in five people on this earth is a resident of China, a country that harbours 1.3 billion people. I believe no form of democracy or the full range of human rights could be applied to a country with a population of this size without unsurmountable problems. Take Canada for instance with its tiny population of 33-million people has to resort to CULTURAL DISCRIMINATION to enforce its version of human rights. I respect China and their form of government and believe Tibet is a source of anguish for the Chinese whereas Tibet is obviously influenced by Western ideologies. Leave China and their way of life alone.

Anglo-supremacist? The only genocidal linguistic supremacist in Canada are the fanatical, extreme French variety that tie piano wire around its victims necks or detonate explosive devices or fire bombs and sends 'separatist' to our federal government to represent that supreme French linguistic province.
