Trump's Threat Worked - Iran Caved
LinkSoul60 replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I have nothing to look back at or respond to. Iran's playing this one out the only way they can and it's effective. That's war... -

I haven't asserted anything. Whatever I've said is facts that you don't like. It is what it is... -

I'm not playing chase the question with you. Play stupid if you choose. Your guy is taking shots, but that's part of war, right. -

You're denying this isn't causing Trump problems at home politically and abroad diplomatically? I've skewed nothing. It is what it is. -
Lol... you have no fùcking idea what you're talking about do you. What are you even trying to say in this so-called convo.. You're jumping from HSR to homosexuals to saying foreign to saying domestic trade are the same thing. You don't have a clue... End of the day you got nothing except your angry little rants about anything left. What a 🤡

Why the problem with facts? Are you really that numb to think that Trump knew they were going to play the Strait against the global economy and in particular your inflation like they have? Again, no I'm not cheering Iran, and so what if I don't like Trump. It doesn't change the facts. -

You just don't like Canada do you... Why not move to the US, or easier to just stick around and bîtch? -

For a clown from Langley you talk pretty tough American speak... Iran obviously can't go toe to toe with the US militarily, but they sure have found an effective way to pressure Trump. -
Seriously... why those emojis? We've only lost what trade with the US Trump wanted us to lose. Growing trade with China and every other country is what we need to do, regardless of the US agreement when that happens. You're picking things out of your àss. Major projects like HSR is infrastructure, not foreign trade no matter how you want to spin it. I said you were utterly useless, not the HSR project which I agree with. Your hand gets further up your àss... We can have two separate conversations because they're two separate topics. Inter-provincial trade has nothing to do with foreign trade. The rest of your rambling is as useless as the above... 🤡

I knew you'd be all over this... Can always count on the red hats 😂 Yes, it's undeniable that Iran has your guy by the short hairs, and no I'm not cheering for Iran. The circumstances are what they are... "Iran is doing a very poor job, dishonorable some would say, of allowing Oil to go through the Strait of Hormuz. That is not the agreement we have!" he wrote. -
Take your thick little head out of your àss for a minute fool... China is not being 'considered as a replacement', we want to grow trade with them. HSR is an infrastructure project, that has nothing to do with international trade. Champaigns, wife, WTF... These are 'facts' and supposedly made me mad and upset....? You need to get a new act 🤡 I'm not sure what interior trade is, but there is more the provinces can do for better inter-provincial trade. Our federal government removed all barriers, so now what...? Little minds think in little ways.... We're not losing the US as a trade partner or is there even a concern for that. They need what we have as both a supplier and a customer, just as we need what they have. That's playing out with tariffs hurting the US economy so let it drag on longer, which only helps. 🤡
-
How simple minded are you? It's your thread and your comments that we're losing a 'trade war' with the US and Mexico, which I replied to. What does China, HSR, Champaigns wife, and now inter-provincial trade have to do with our US trade. You never pointed out anything other than the usual schtick of anti-liberal. You got nothing... as usual.

Where exactly did I claim victory for Iran? I said they have the US by the short hairs, which is undeniable. The rest of your typical 'leftist' rant and devotion to Trump, whatever.... -
Are Alberta Separatists Committing Treason?
LinkSoul60 replied to TreeBeard's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Amongst pollsters Abacus, AR, Leger, etc... A good majority of ~65% disapproves and even within the group that would vote separation, only ~50% would vote regardless of the economic pain while the others just want their voice heard. I don't get my news from think-alike friends on X or Facebook so why don't you give me the inside dope of how and why this wouldn't be an economic kick in the groin. Most every economist or person with common sense would tell you this new 'Alberta' would see economic contraction, the exit of capital, corporate head offices and people. The province is landlocked, nobody would invest because of uncertainty, and all the while you will be paying more for healthcare and every other service, provided you can find it. What do you do about currency and what bank would support that, what do about your portion of the national debt, etc, etc, etc.... And no, I did business in Alberta for 30 some odd years and well aware the province isn't a bunch of 'hicks'. I view some of you as fools, but there are fools everywhere... This will go nowhere but will at least allow you fools to keep complaining in hopes of getting bit more off your chest. -

You can't be a superpower if you don't have a lot of friends. His comment of us witnessing the greatest collapse of strategic power we've seen is accurate... we saw that with allies standing firm with Greenland, we're seeing that play out with allies saying 'you're on your own with this one' in Iran, and we're seeing that with all trading 'partners' trying to better diversify trade away from the US, while obviously still trading in that economy. Personally I think that both have been a good wake-up call not only for us, but all US allies. Where I'm not convinced is that this new approach to the world militarily and domestically is at the 'point of no return'. Maybe it's just hopeful thinking but I'd like to think Trump is just a bad mistake that American's made... which I think they've figured out by now with his 32% and declining approval rating. Does that mean we'll go back to a pre-Trump world who knows, but if the next administation took a similar approach to the world, the collapse of power will only be accelerated. -

By keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed. Takes away from Trump's claim of victory and keeps domestic and global pressure on him because of the cost pain it's causing. -

So being able to spew your little thoughts and comments in rapid fire succession because of voice dictation is being smart? I don't think me or anyone else is restricted with how much or little can be said because we 'type' it. Just involves a bit more time for lengthier comments, surprisingly. Why the emoji with the tongue hanging out....again? -
You definitely have me confused with someone else...
-
Possibly if you would have matriculated beyond that noted Grade 6 education you'd have realized we're not talking about China. We're talking about your comment on lesser trade with the US. Pay attention little guy... I know exactly what the reduction of trade with the US means and why it declined last year.... do you? To my original comment... significantly high tariffs are meant to discourage trade, and the reason why we saw lesser trade with the US last year specifically in the steel, aluminum, auto and lumber sectors. Following along...? Stay focused.... we're not talking about energy, China, the HSR project, or Champaigns wife. Let me know if you're not following why our trade with the US declined last year....

building Chinese cars here in Canada....
LinkSoul60 replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It's the other way around... we were the ones who were provoked which is why we looked to China and that opportunity. Mexico sells over 300K Chinese vehicles. Obviously Trump doesn't want us building cars...we need to look at other options, not roll over. The unions will want to build cars from any country if they're not building them for US companies. I'm sure that if a vehicle can be built to Chinese manufacturer spec using Canadian made parts and labor nobody is going to have a problem with that. Not sure what the chances of that happening might be though... I'm glad you or anyone who thinks alike is negotiating this, or anything else for us. So what if it's uncomfortable...that's part of negotiating. The #1 rule though is to not bend over willingly as you suggest we do... Clearly we're not bowing to him, or a deal would be done right? Of course we don't hold all the cards, but we do have a pretty good hand that is playing well right now with the cost of living pressures Trump is facing from his constituents. Don't forget the fact the US relies on us as both a customer and supplier... -
Not everyone 'gets it' like you do... Ever stop to think that exports are meant to lessen trade when a country puts significantly high tariffs on another? We had a 6% decline in exports to the US past year and an increase of 17% to non-US countries last year. We'll get normalized with the US whenever that may be, but we need other partners, obviously...
