  1. Not well, but not total disaster either. (My prediction) I don't think Trump will finish his term. Either a massive stroke or heart attack ends him or debilitates him so he's removed, or after losing BIG TIME in the mid-terms, he quits, rapidly declines and dies. A better President and Congress start making amends for some of his messes. His family drift into the background and live luxurious lives off their grift fortunes. This is just what my intuition tells me will happen, but what do I know - I thought the Jays would winn the world series.
  2. "As democracy is perfected, the office [of president] represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people … On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright m0ron." Henry Louis Mencken 1920 Because: “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” Isaac Asimov No wonder Trump said he loves the 'poorly educated'.
  3. Why are you lying? Every video shows that is not true.
  4. Maybe. Depends on what you say. Or maybe we still need to counterbalance the 'Tyranny of the Majority'. All the statistics on employment, income, etc.. suggest so.
  5. My brother's $4000 dentures only cost him $200 thanks to CDCP, so you must be doing something wrong...
  6. But try telling that to most right-wing politicians and their followers. According to them we're always in an apocalyptic age of crime.
  7. Why are so many Republicans crooks? Something inherent in their politics.
  8. Right. Police in large cities have helicopters. CC cameras are everywhere. Drones are the next step. It all comes down to 'Who's in Charge?' CONTROL or KAOS? (I'm old, hence the reference) Read an article of an American city with 24 hr. satellite coverage. They had a photo of a home invasion, the perp's car parked out front. They followed the photos backward (like rewinding) and found where the car had come from, then making an arrest. I don't like this 'Surveillance Age' but it's something we just have to live with. (Had to put up my own cameras after someone recently stole a lot of oil out of my tank.)
  9. And what I see from Trump, Vance, Hegseth et al, is a very deep insecurity. They have something to prove, a bottomless pit they can't fill.
  10. Really? Maybe they prefer to collaborate but where is the proof they can't lead?
  11. Wow! You can colour between the lines. Pretty good for an American Troll!
  12. Yes dear, that's nice. Now you go out and play. Don't lose your mittens!
  13. Like US control over Hawaii. Britain's control over The Falklands, etc...
  14. The US already has Carte Blanche to install defence sites. Good for the US, good for NATO. This is about Rseources (minerals, etc...) Ocean control, and diversion (not hearing much about Epstein and affordability these days). Wag the dog! Nothing wrong with trade routes, if that's all it is.
  15. Sorry - where did I say that? Are you mistaking me for the voices in your head?
  16. Of course you can quote where said anything like that? Just more lying bullsh!t.
  17. Hey, I support your freedom to say stoopid things. The minimum wage in Mississippi for 2025 is $7.25 per hour, which is the federal minimum wage Slavers? Good rightwinger. Baa Baa...
  18. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c205dx61x76o "Trump seeks $100bn for Venezuela oil, but Exxon boss says country 'uninvestable'." Glad to see Maduro's gone, but didn't Trump actually ask anyone about this before they invaded? - Big Oil won't touch this with a 10 foot pole. - The same regime is in office. - No plan, no brains, a huge expense in military, and all they've accomplished is stealing a few tankers of oil. What now?
  19. Not how I would define comfort. Maybe you're talking about avarice?
  20. Resistance? Investigated? So now US citizens should fear their government too? You want to live in a police state. I was talking about immigrants, documented and undocumented. In case you missed this: Try dealing with reality. For a long time, the US economy has depended on cheap migrant labour, both documented and un- documented. Did you notice how shortly after Trump started this ICE barrage, they stopped going after agricultural and manufacturing businesses? Who else is going to pick the lettuce for your Fatburgers, and since manufacturing has fallen every month since Trump got in, they can't afford to lose any more. If you could make every un-documented worker disappear tomorrow , you'd have an economic disaster. The American economy needs them. But don't take my word for it: https://www.ilr.cornell.edu/mobilizing-against-inequality/post/five-ways-undocumented-immigrants-are-powering-american-economy Five ways immigrants are powering the American economy 1. Agriculture Undocumented workers make up 25% of all farm workers in the US. The majority of these workers are overworked and put in at least 10 hours of work per day in arduous conditions to feed American families. 2. Building, grounds-keeping, and maintenance Undocumented workers make up 19% of maintenance workers. These laborers tend to work on low wages for 12-hr shifts, often 7 days a week. 3. Construction 17% of US construction workers are undocumented 4. Food preparation & serving 12% of workers in this occupation are undocumented 5. Taxes Undocumented immigrants pay billions of dollars in taxes annually. Households headed by unauthorized immigrants paid $10.6 billion in state and local taxes in 2010. This includes $1.2 billion in personal income taxes, $1.2 billion in property taxes, and more than $8 billion in sales and excise taxes. Immigrants—even legal immigrants—are barred from most social services, meaning that they pay to support benefits they cannot even receive. From the US Gov't: https://docs.house.gov/meetings/JU/JU01/20250122/117827/HHRG-119-JU01-20250122-SD004.pdf The Texas Department of Public Safety estimated the rate at which undocumented immigrants are arrested for committing crimes. The study found that undocumented immigrants are arrested at less than half the rate of native-born U.S. citizens for violent and drug crimes and a quarter the rate of native-born citizens for property crimes. Sadly, I know you and your ilk won't let facts get in your way. You'll invent 'Alternate Facts'.
