  1. In his defense though, I think maybe that's just his style. Brainstorming is kind of a board room, businessy thing. You might have experts in and ask a lot of questions like "Is it possible we could do this?" Most politicians would have the brains not to brainstorm about sciency stuff on live TV.
  2. I remember being told but most of the mainstream media that Trump was advising people to inject bleach when he asked some experts a question about if it was possible to somehow use disinfectants internally to target the 'rona virus. To be fair, it was a dumb question. But it wasn't reported that way.
  3. But I mean I am assuming you are conservative like me, so I doubt you believe in a DEI president. Plus if they backed out of the race they deny the voters a chance to choose them.
  4. I just realized this race is going to be a first name against a last name. Kamala is like one of those famous people you commonly refer to only by their first name. Like Elvis or Cher. Are there many of those in politics? Vivek and Beto come to mind.
  5. Everyone who successfully campaigns for their party's nomination denies all other candidates a chance to be president. Why did the Florida Panthers win the cup when someone else could have?
  6. She might not have to. The media will do most of that for her.
  7. How did we end up debating the holocaust? I think Five of swords could turn a thread about The Teletubbies into something about Jews.
  8. If we are going down that rabbit hole, it would be incredibly difficult to pull off shooting someone in the ear while his head is moving.
  9. I actually don't think Kamala comes across as unlikeable. I don't like her politics. But she looks like someone you would easily get along with if you met her somewhere and had no idea she was a politician. She actually seems like she would be a fun person. I think Perspektiv is right. She should be taken seriously. You should take any opponent seriously for that matter.
  10. It was stopped the first time around. I think a lot of people look at the Democrat party using lawfare against political opponents, the IRS targeting conservatives, parents being labeled terrorists for protesting at school board meetings, trying to remove political opponents from the ballot, and they really don't see them as the defenders of democracy. Trump asking them not to certify didn't stop democracy. And if he wins he only has one term left anyway. I am not American. So, I won't be deciding, either way. But I think the Democrats and the left are a greater threat to democracy here. I mean, I've seen left-wing columnists arguing that free speech is a threat to democracy. It seems like everything democratic is a threat to democracy. We will see what happens in November. If Americans decide to elect Trump, in spite of the complaints you raise, that will be democracy.
  11. Myata, I think a lot of Americans look at the charges against Trump, and they just don't buy that this guy is any worse a criminal than most of Washington. I mean take overvaluing Mar-a-Lago. The banks did not even complain about it being fraud. Do you really think that this is the epitome of shady business dealings in Washington? Classified documents. Biden had those. You will notice that Trump wasn't being indicted for anything until he was running again. For many people, the number of charges against Trump does nothing to make the case that he is a horrible criminal any more convincing. It looks like political targeting. I see Democrats on TV saying no politician is above the law. I mean a lot of people just don't buy it. Politicians have been above the law for years, on both sides of the aisle. I've never seen politicians care so much about other politicians being above the law until Trump came along. How can anyone vote for someone so terrible? Both Democrats and Republicans have been doing it for years. Ted Kennedy drove off a bridge with a female campaign worker in his car. He survived and claimed he tried to save her. But he left her body there, and didn't report the accident until the next day. Democrats revered that guy.
  12. Joe is playing 5d chess. It will take us troglodytes years to understand all the brilliant things he is saying and doing.
  13. The Democrat party, foul, decrepit. Degeneration of logic and values. The decay of society. Like the Bolsheviks, only this time, we knew. We allowed it to happen. A male boxer, says he is female, punches a female boxer. She dies. Blood spills. Show trials. But we knew. We all knew. The liars lied to themselves. They lied the biggest lie they could ever lie and became the lie themselves. Now they must make their liar beds and lie in them, but even as they lie, they will continue to lie and lie. Yet, we knew.
  14. Chrystia Freeland hands down. That woman has the voice of angel.
  15. What happens tomorrow when he forgets having done this?
  16. I think CBC's bias is most obvious in the way they cover American politics. The same is true for all the mainstream media in Canada. I was really surprised other day to see that CBC had an actual Trump supporter on to counter a Democrat they were talking to. I don't know if that's the first time that has ever happened, but I think it's the first time I have seen it. When it comes to a news story about Trump, they usually follow it by reaching out for the "expert opinion" from some university professor you've never heard of who assures us all (much like the last professor they had on) that Trump is very bad. Criticism of Democrats is allowed, but speaking positively about Trump is very taboo.
  17. Everyone knew this was coming. Maybe not that such a significant amount of people would believe it. But everyone knew this theory was coming. Something major happens and some people will call it a "false flag". I enjoy reading conspiracy theories so my brain just automatically went there as soon as it happened.
  18. You may well be right. I just think there would be a ton of backlash. Even from the conservative voting public. A lot of them probably don't know that conservatives disliking the CBC is a thing. I know Pierre has openly promised it, but I am willing to bet you a lot of people are unaware of that. Like it or not, the CBC is kind of an institution in Canada. We shall see what happens, I guess.
