They are women in their lives because they have every aspect of a women. Some can even get pregnant and have kids. But they are enjoying a lot of the physical advantages that men have because they produce testosterone at a higher level. I'll throw this out for the debate: Women's sports should be limited to people that are born female and have no testosterone. If they have this 46, XY DSD, they should be required to take testosterone suppression treatments.
