The Moment Tim Walz Lost The Debate

I could be wrong, but it sounded like he may have misspoke. He probably meant to say he had become friends of the families of the victims of school shooters. -
The Moment Tim Walz Lost The Debate
DUI_Offender replied to CouchPotato's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The debate was considered a draw, by the majority of the public. Nobody was a decisive winner. -
The French already owned Quebec. They had Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick too, but lost the territories to the British in the 18th century. The Indigenous received a bunch of small reservations, in the middle of nowhere. Not so easy to obtain employment, when nearly all the employers at the time refused to hire Native Canadians. No they have not. Only recently (last 50 years), have they acquired equal rights, that all Canadians enjoy.
-
The French lost in the Battle of Acadia, and as to my knowledge, they were not stripped of their human rights, and forced to live on non-arable reservations in the middle of nowhere, and shunned from most aspects of society. French Canadians did not have their children taken away forcefully, relocated to schools to erasure their culture and traditions, only to be abused and dehumanised, both physically and sexually.

I've always stated that the main issue facing the prairie provinces, especially Winnipeg, is the integration, assimilation, and acceptance of our Indigenous community. I believe of the 850,000 people in the city, there are 100,000 people with Native blood, and most are full Indigenous. The problem with the people who are complaining about Natives "being lazy" or "looking for handouts" is that they have never even remotely experienced the widespread racism, discrimination, or abuse that the Native community has endured for the past century. The City of Winnipeg, in particular, has done everything humanly possible to make the problem worse. First, the close down rec centres, libraries, hockey rinks, and other places that children and young adults gravitate to, in the roughest and poorest areas of the city. Then they build a huge casino in the 90s in the North End, knowing that the Natives were experiencing very high rates of alcohol and drug abuse. So naturally, they now gravitate to the casinos, considering there are limited options in employment, and themselves being residential school survivors, have no parenting skills. even if the city loses money on keeping libraries, rec centres, sporting facilities, and educational opportunities open in the North and West End, the trade off would be lower crime, and less chance young people have of joining gangs, since the majority of kids who join gangs or start using substances do so for boredom, or from a sense of not belonging anywhere else. Obviously, the solution will not be easy, but the people that have the opinion that the First Nations people should "just get over it" or are "just waiting for an easy handout" is intellectually lazy, at best.

CdnFox is not in touch with reality, or in a parallel universe, where Democrats are Republicans, and Republicans are Democrats. -

Funny how the three Democratic presidents in my lifetime, were all handed shit economies, and turned them around, and left with the economies prospering. Clinton took over during the early 90s recession, and created more jobs than any president in history. Obama took over when the US was in it's greatest recession since the 1930s, and left with the economy great. Biden took over when the economy was in the shitter, due to Trumps' mismanagement of COVID, and now the economy is once again good. If one wants the economy to grow, they should vote Democratic... -

Trump, like most of his ancestors, are crooks. A crooks never succeeds at business honestly. All Trump's businesses have failed. Instead, he obtains money through underhanded means, and projects himself as a "self-made billionaire" when his Dad was constantly bailing out all his failed ventures. -
A political forum is the last place that would be receptive to missionary work. However, why not? I mean you have gone on and on about China favourably. You should really look at doing missionary work there. This is why people hate Christians. It's one thing to suggest converting to people. It's quite another to start insulting them in they are not interested, and threaten them with eternal damnation.

..and China will then retaliate by placing tariffs on US-based goods the Chinese buy. The Chinese will also be looking an increased trade in other nations like Russia, India, Europe, Canada, South America, etc. No doubt the Chinese will suffer economically if trump puts ridiculous tariffs in place. However, the US will suffer worse, since it will drive up the price of goods dramatically. Aside from that, you are becoming intolerable. I am putting you on "ignore" again... -
Trump will run US economy like his business

This statement is so hilarious, since it demonstrates the fact that you have no idea how the World economy works. Sure, people can start to buy America goods. However, they will be far more expensive. The wages in North America are far higher than China. Unless workers agree to make products for $2.50 an hour, the essential products the average American family buys will be dramatically more expensive. -

Exactly. If he places a 40% tariff on China, it will not only create a trade war, that will drive the World into a great depression, but consumers who go to Walmart, Costco, or other stores to buy affordable items from China, will be faced with 40% markups. Which in turn, will make them spend far more on necessities, and less on luxury items (which happen to be American made). It's not smart to declare a trade war on your leading trade partner. -

When huge businesses like Walmart, Costco, etc. have their taxes cut from 23% to 8%, it creates a problem for the Government. They now have all these big businesses that would have paid literally trillions in taxes, paying 1/3 of what they have historically paid. That means the US Government has to find way to recuperate the losses. The Trump administration wants to raise taxes for the poorest working people. That will not help the economy. In fact, this is what many 3rd World countries do. They tax big businesses as little as possible. Only in their cases, the trade off is no workers rights, no old age security, no medical benefits, no social system, cuts in infrastructure, health, and education. The money has to come from somewhere, and by virtually eliminating taxes for the wealthiest corporations, it will be placed on the working and middle class to make up for the loss. Either that, or the USA will be forced to do what other 3rd World countires have done- kill off health care, infrastructure, education, social services, old age security, etc. -

Was Hunter a "Foreign Agent"?

So ironic that the entire Trump family are pretty much foreign agents, that sold America out to Russia and Saudi Arabia. Yet all the Trump fans can do is pick on Biden's addict son in response. -

No wonder why his father joked that he hoped his plane would crash, when Trump flew overseas with Marla Maples in 1990. Donald's ideas and projects in Atlantic City, were causing Fred trump a financial bloodbath. -

Then to make up for the cuts, increase taxes on the working class and middle class, which is a recipe for disaster considering less Americans will be able to afford anything but the basic necessities. The businesses who count on consumers buying their luxury items will suffer. Do Putin's bidding, considering it was Russian oligarchs that bailed Trump out of bankruptcy in the early 2000s. -

I've posted links to the actual statistics before, but you choose to ignore them, and lie and tell the World that Trump is the greatests jobs President ever. This is reality: From the US Bureau of Labour & Statistics 2023. -

Just wait until Trump gives more big businesses huge tax breaks, and passes them off to the poor, working, and middle class. One would have to be a fool to vote for him, if they happen to earn less than the top 10% of all Americans. -

You mean when he left the economy in shambles, after his poor handling of the COVID pandemic, and becoming the first President in modern history to have a net job loss? -
