  1. I have no opinion about Fauci. I am not obsessed much like you. its over.. your acceptance of that simple cold, hard truth is not needed. Much like no one needs to care about your opinion concerning the Denver nuggets winning an NBA championship. I know this bothers you. Your sole reason to exist on this earth.. bit$hing about Covid is going away. What are you going to cry about now?
  2. relating to this topic, it was not relevant to what was requested. The state of the Nevada economy was the topic.. not covid. Surely, you can decipher that.
  3. "shill" implies conspiracy theory. I universally do not ascribe to conspiracy theories no matter who peddles it.
  4. Its a simple matter of cost benefit analysis. The time spent listening to someone who is lacking intelligence is not worth it. For the same 8 minutes, I gave a bunch of data that was requested.. pick up the difference? The information that I brought forth was requested and I delivered. the covid topic was not requested and was not relevant to the conversation.
  5. It does play a role just not the lead role. its sad that I have to say this twice. Increased govt spending does lead to increased consumer spending but not on a 1 to 1 ratio as you are claiming... The data simply does not back you up.. its not up to me whether you believe it or not.
  6. How about you propose something to begin with. Oh... but we need to keep complaining and whining because that will solve the problem.
  7. If you want... go to the BEA site and get the micro data. I can tell you how to process the data. When you do so.. you find that consumer expenditures (not government) are the lead variable. Lead is not the same as only... you know this but that invalidates your schpiel. Yes, the covid era stimulus did cause high inflation. However, look at the last 40 years.. steadily increasing govt budgets but inflation that does not follow the same pattern?
  8. Also... I know the actual data at the most granular level and fiscal policy is not the primary variable in inflation. But I will not ruin your fantasy. Its ok, carry along.
  9. When I read the word, "shill" in a thread or a thread title... I automatically lose respect for who writes it.
  10. its pretty clear that society is moving on from the topic. Should they? That is for you to decide. Are they doing so? yes. Why are they? Simple human nature. The more time passes by, the less connection we have to a topic. Its not that difficult to understand. Now I know some on here will NEVER stop yapping about it. It really bothers them that it is not the lead story now and into perpetuity.
  11. "Congress"... that is the key word. Think about it for a few seconds.. I know it hurts but try.
  12. exactly. We are given an hour for all 12 participants to debrief. To fill that up with an unrelated topic is not a good use of time. Not even close to what I was asking... wow, you should become a talk radio host.
  13. saying what you will do... is prediction. Will.. is not the same as is doing or has done. I know that you can't separate the two ideas.
  14. Ok, first it was not my meeting. The governor meets with a select group and each person presents their small bit. Mine is unemployment insurance claims. My turn was over before this guy came up. His unsolicited idea was that we should retroactively pay those who opted to not get the vax and make some sort of statement. The guy is not aware that no one sacrificed pay.. they lost sick leave or vacation time if they went to the testing. I felt that we had already crossed that bridge and so no need to keep revisiting it. The governor (again Republican) just stared at him and said nothing. He is the one that needs to say something not me. I just stared out the window knowing that this was out of left field. precisely. When he came into office.. he dealt with the covid issue. No need to keep revisiting it. Its over.
  15. No. I think that the guy was trying to take advantage of a bit of a duldrum in the action. We only have a legislative session every 2 years and that ended last year. Economy is doing well, unemployment claims are back down to a typical level. My guess is that it seemed like a good time to dredge it back up and he was shut down.
  16. so what can the current governor do to address this issue in such a way to appease you? Keep in mind that he is only a governor and can't just impose his will. This should be interesting.
  17. If I had already addressed it in the past and did not want to keep on doing so over and over again.. by your logic, I should just keep doing it. Lather, rinse, repeat. the governor did all that he could do.. he stopped the mandates and made sure that they were in the past. Lets hear what else he could have done... this should be entertaining
  18. You assume that the mistakes of the past have not been addressed? By stopping the mandate and making it clear that it will not be brought back again.. that seems to address that. Besides can a governor undo the past... folks got the shot or not, all of which in the state service did so of their own volition. If they did not get the jab.. the consequence was that they had to get tested. No job loss, no financial penalty, etc. Even the testing was a toothless item.. if you did not get tested, rarely did anyone find out or really care.
  19. not exactly related but we had our monthly meeting with the governor. Someone attempted to bring up this topic... Crickets. After 2 minutes of silence, we moved on. The person who tried to air the grievance about vax mandates just sat there in stunned silence. Keep in mind, we have a republican governor and thoroughly republican cabinet. The vax mandates were put in place by the past governor (a Democrat). It told me that folks are moving on from this topic.
  20. It is Trump's prediction and the value that you place on it is 100% subjective. The past does not predict the future... if so, you have quite a time explaining why Cincinnati beat Kansas City in the AFC championship game a few years ago. And even if he does invoke the Insurrection Act.. you have no idea of exactly what will happen. All you have is subjectivity and prediction. I hope that it does not happen but if it does.. my life will carry on.
  21. probability... if you were as smart as you claim to be, you would know that probability does not mean absolute certainty. So... can you tell us exactly what will happen. The exact time.. 9:35 am on January 20, 2025 (just an example), exactly who will do it, what they will do, and such. Vague generalizations are not sufficient. Words are subjective. The value that you put on a prediction is purely subjective. Objective would something that has no grey area or interpretation. An example would be that the unemployment rate in Elko County for February 2024 is 3.7%.
