  1. And then you go on to prove you DON"T move on by going back 20 years to try to make PP sound bad after you won an election LOLOL you don't move on, you obsess You obsess over me, you obsess over pp, you obsess over your own failures as a person. LOL "move on". Kid the only thing you move is your bowels whenever one of us points out what a twat you are
  2. Cars may one day go electric, but right now they are not. The electric market is drying up, models are being cancelled and with very good reason. They fill a niche and that's great, if they work for people then people should switch . But for the majority of people they don't work. And with the current battery tech they never will. Over time the tech will change, we'll get either better energy storage options or we'll find ways of creating electricity on demand like hydrogen fuel cells which actually work and make sense and are a legit replacement for ice. But that day is not here. And you have to let it happen naturally
  3. Yes, it makes perfect sense. Trump wants canada weak. Trump wants canada to be a huge source of revenues through tariffs. Trump wants to drive industries to america. But he knows that canada buys a lot of us goods. So he'll push things to the edge as much as he can to take every nickel he can and THEN he'll do a deal that he wants. There is NO reason for trump to have a deal right now. Deals mean certainty, businesses don't move if there's certainty they just learn to cope. It's to his advantage to go as long as possible without a deal without actually completely crashing the country Duh.
  4. As usual, the fact you know i'm right makes you angry and bitter Who's arguing with you? You're chasing your own tail little pup Ford obviously didn't have a strategy. Any kind of advertising like that really needs to be part of a larger picture effort if it's going to be effective and it just wasn't well thought out. Of course carney was going to get yelled at and of course doug was going to get told to stop it and the only outcome is doug gets to look sort of tough for a minute and trump is pissed and our trade deal is LESS likely, and considering that his province is the most affected maybe that wasn't smart. I hear Eby is going to do the same thing in a desperate effort to increase his flagging popularity. We'll see how that goes.
  5. No, that's a thing. You hate for the sake of hatred because "trump". Trump doesn't have to do a deal at all. He can dictate the deal we get at any time. He can walk away at any time. So pretending that carney is doing a good job or that he's being successful in his negotiations is just stupid. And that's the problem. Carney is not doing a good job and trump is getting frustrated with the whole thing. And now things are worse
  6. I accept your admission of failure In any case, you're still wrong, which is what set you off in the first place. If being wrong upsets you so much that you have these little meltdowns, have you considered maybe being right for a change? I realize that will involve learning to think and read properly but honestly it's worth it.
  7. We're not interested in advice from a country that can't even beat us in baseball
  8. Dude, there's no irony here. The very fact that Reagan felt the need to defend what was obviously a very justified tariff and explain why he was normally against them but this was a special case kind of proves that.... normally he was against them. But this was a special case You know i usually respect your thinking but in this case you're just being argumentative. Reagan was well known to hate tariffs, there is not a doubt in my mind in the slightest that he would strongly disagree with trump's approach. The ad is 100 percent accurate, reaga thought tariffs were a bad idea but sometimes necessary in the way that most people think war is a bad idea but sometimes necessary. He was always clear on that. And the reasons he gave in that speech are the reasons he always believed in. There's nothing even a tiny bit misleading here. That doesn't make trump wrong or make this the wrong strategy. Reagan is not some sort of holy messiah on economics who must be followed no matter what. It would be more reasonable to point out that if reagan were president now given the specific circumstances in existence today he might very well change his tune, OR that there's more than one way to skin a cat and what reagan did worked but this can work too. But arguing over the ad is just getting silly. yes, reagan would likely have done things different, no that does not mean trump is doing it wrong, just that he's doing it different.
  9. LOL i'm sure your inbox is in your head constantly but mine is just on a screen Kid you wake up every morning and rush around the forum puttnig little down arrows on all my posts like you're completely desperate It's not me who has the problem with having someone stuck in his head
  10. Doug Ford pausing ad that prompted Trump to cancel trade talks | Toronto Sun Ontario Premier Doug Ford will pause his U.S. ad campaign featuring a province-produced television spot that sparked anger in the Donald Trump White House, after a chat with Prime Minister Mark Carney. Yup, carney caved again. Trump didn't like what he saw and Carney got a talking to and now ford has gotten a talking to. Apperently they already paid for the world series spot so that'll still happen but then it's back to "heel, sit, stay".
  11. Copium Why look at you, managing portmanteaus and all And they say the american school system is so bad Same way we do now. And right now most of that money goes to us manufcaturers. Canada is the largest US export market for passenger vehicles and light trucks: US exports of $23 bn USD in 2024 – more than US exports to Germany, Mexico and China combined. $23 billion a year is a lot of money to attract other countries car manufacturers It's also a lot of money for American car manufacturers to lose Most of those cars were made in Canada. So one way or another it turns out we can make cars that people want to buy. I'm sure china would love to make $25 billion a year selling cars made in Canada. Sorry kiddo, trump and you badly misunderstood the numbers on that one. Canadians are EXACTLY the type to agree en masse to stop buying us cars and buy canadian made subaru's and toyotas and volkswagens and kia's and bdy's. In fact the last 3 vehicles i bought, one was a ford and 2 were toyota. I won't miss the us manufacturers at all
  12. When you buy gas you pay tax. and that tax is income for the gov't. And the rest goes to pay the people who dug up the oil and THEY pay tax on their income. ANd people use that gas the bought to go to their jobs and live their lives, which benefits the economy. More oil and gas is VERY good for us
  13. The bleed is endless at the moment. And carney has signaled he won't fight for the industry and is giving up, so manufactuers who were holding on hoping there might be a deal are now making plans to move south. We'll see more and more closures.
  14. harris would have been far worse. She was an incompetent candidate and was being controlled by people behind the scenes, they would never have known who was really in charge Trump makes a lot of noise, but things are generally better for the usa. Fewer wars, the economy seems to be coming around, inflation under control, etc.
  15. Carney did nothing months ago. The provinces aren't working with each other at all and in fact some have raised their tariffs on their neighbors since then. Carney promised that he would substantially end inter provincial trade barriers by leading the provinces and working with them to find new relationships and arrangements. He has done none of that. The problem is he's incompetent. He could see that free trade amongst the provinces was something that was necessary but you didn't understand the politics involved and he didn't have the relationships built over the years to bring everyone on board So he made a promise he couldn't keep because he thought people like you would vote for him. It's reprehensible. He sold Canadians on the idea that he could handle trump, which he couldn't. And that in any case he could eliminate trade barriers for provinces so that we did a lot more business in Canada. And he couldn't You need to understand that this guy is every bit as much of a disaster as Justin Trudeau was and our economy is going to suffer accordingly
  16. You could live without it but Quebec would not. And that's why we're not hearing the details, carney has to be careful about things that will cost him the next election but he doesn't want it to appear that he's being careful for that reason. I've never heard of negotiations going on this long without comment as to what the issues are and how they're going. When doesn't want to do all this negotiations in the public forum but businesses and Canadians deserve to know what the issues are. In any case I think we have to accept that at the very least the automotive industry will be largely lost and the question now is how do we recover from that I suspect the supply management simply can't continue either. It's a sore point for trump and he will win that one if he keeps at it
  17. Mark Carney talks to Canada's youth about the budget and sacrifices they may have to make
  18. He could move to granville street and get shanked by an immigrant with mental health issues, that's pretty much a weekly event now. That' would spike my irony meter as well
  19. I mean you're not wrong Carney was going to do that but.... oh well
  20. Well not necessarily from asia, it might be possible to talk a few European car manufacturers into expanding operations here as well. But something. The problem is it's not just manufacturing the cars but also the parts But yeah, basically finding new markets that would be interested in opening up here to build would be a good solution. But that does take time and Ontario is going to get beat up pretty badly with the loss of the industry
  21. uhhhh.... didn't know how the internet or forums worked little guy ? Well that's that short term memory loss for you
  22. Jeez don't pass him off on to us for god's sake!
  23. See? Told you that you'd forget shortly, that's the best part of having cognitive memory failure So you're lucky there!
  24. I suppose that would indeed fit I have said many times that the left is all about violence and hatred these days.
