  1. How come you people are always calling us you people?
  2. That has never been anyone's suggestion. Apparently reading isn't something you're very good at. The point everyone has made is that in the normal course of events, as per Trudeau's long history of ignoring all national security issues, he would never have made any public fuss over this information, even if he had been briefed. He'd have kept it quiet. You'd be the expert on clowns. And once again, certainly not an expert on reading comprehension. Trudeau is ultimately to blame since it was his decisions and his government that effectively emasculated Canada's national security apparatus out of fear of offending this or that ethnic group. India felt free to interfere here, as does China, as do other countries, because they know they face no opposition from the skinny kid whose face they joyfully kick sand into every day as they romp unhindered through the sand. Why shouldn't they kill troublesome people here? It's not like there's any government here that's ever stood up for our sovereignty.
  3. Your understanding in this, then, as in so much else, is lacking. I have no difficulty whatsoever articulating my opinions. That's what you don't like. I’m “confirming that there was shared intelligence among Five Eyes partners that helped lead Canada to making the statements that the prime minister made,” Not exactly a resounding statement of support for the actions Trudeau took or what exactly the information was. Opposing sky-high immigration has nothing to do with racism, though those on the Left have constantly tried to make that link. Nor do views on our culture and the desirability of preserving it. But to the Left, we have no culture worth preserving, and so any such suggestion must instead be based on 'racism'. Further, nothing I've said has discounted the possibility Indian intelligence aided or arranged the death of this man. They're certainly capable of it. Your attempts to defend Trudeau on this issue are what are pathetic. If Modi did this there is one man to blame for making us seem like weaklings and pushovers and that is our shallow, callow prime minister Socks, who has been disdainful of everything related to national security and national defense since he took office. If we can't fight back, who's responsibility is that?
  4. Well gee, maybe it's because you guys spent all your time harassing Canada instead of China, India, Nigeria and Vietnam. The developing world produces 68% and rising of all emissions. As long as they keep building coal plants you're not going to see any leveling off of carbon emissions.
  5. Not to mention labeling anything which disagrees with the Left on identity issues as 'hate'. Not to mention the view that any disagreement on trans issues is taking to wanting them to die or threatening their existence. Everything is uber-dramatized by the Left now. Everything is viewed through the lens of identity. And any disagreement is 'hateful'.
  6. Are you even smart enough to understand what a lunatic this sort of thing makes you seem?
  7. I understand that to you guys on the Left the idea of anyone having standards constitutes an appalling offense against your DEI religion. Nope. There have been leaks that suggest some information came from other 5I countries, notably the US, but that's all. And this is the reason why I call you guys on the Left racists. Because race is the lens through which you view the world and every incident and situation that occurs. No, it can't be that people would look at a guy wanted for terrorism who came to Canada, was rejected for lying, made a phony marriage so he could claim again, was rejected again, and then somehow avoided deportation for years before somehow getting citizenship would regard them as less than Canadian. To you, the only possible explanation is race. That's the only explanation for EVERYTHING. You people are so fixated, so utterly obsessed with race now that you actually qualify as racists yourself.
  8. Oh, brother. You Americans just can't ever seem to remember that Canada is a separate country, can you? And by the way, bringing that up has nothing to do with what I said. It wasn't exactly a counter-protest, now was it?
  9. My guys? Quit sulking. There was nothing Canadians could ever have done about it. Just like there's nothing we can do about it now but further impoverish ourselves with ludicrously expensive net zero policies. We ought to be, as he says, putting our money and policies into adaptation.
  10. An article by a deep believer in climate change who says we're wasting our time and money on these 'net zero' things, which aren't going to make a damned bit of difference anyway. Some people might say: “But we’ve got to, we’ve got to show that we’re on the right side, we’ve got to accomplish it, even if other people don’t do it.” I think that’s the politics of narcissism: “I want to feel good.” But in the meantime, you’re wasting resources and you’re wasting time. There is a serious possibility that we’re now in the early stages of runaway climate change. We should be focusing everything we’ve got — not on having an infinitesimal impact on global carbon levels, which would be the case even if the whole net-zero programme was implemented, but on policies of adaptation. And adaptation is not going to be easy. Remember, most climate scientists agree that once human-induced climate change is in the works, it goes on for decades or even centuries. You can’t just stop it. There’s a general idea among environmentalists that we started this so we can stop it. They are wrong. We started it, probably, but we can’t stop it. https://unherd.com/2023/09/net-zero-and-the-politics-of-narcissism/
  11. The 'hard right' such as they are, have settled in with the PPC.
  12. I like how you twisted that around from "the right doesn't show up en masse to disrupt and scream abuse at the left" when they demonstrate or have some kind of speaker to "The right doesn't whinge". Can't remember seeing a lot of right-wing counter-protests that compare to the rabid, hate-inspired throngs that show up from the Left whenever the right does or says something they don't like.
  13. Another poll, this one from Angus-Reid, showing that trans policies that have been adopted due to the ferocious activism of trans types is out of step with what the public wants. As duelling protests took place in Canadian cities over the issue of gender ideology in schools, a new survey from the Angus Reid Institute revealed that most Canadians support a middle ground: They favour equality and accommodation for trans people, but generally don’t believe men can self-identify as women. Of respondents, just 35 per cent agreed with the sentiment — now enshrined via a latticework of federal and provincial laws — that “anyone who wishes can identify as a woman.” About the same number (34 per cent) sided with the notion that women are only those “who were born with female genitalia.” Another 18 per cent were comfortable with the idea of men legally becoming women, but only if they changed their genitalia through surgery. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/angus-reid-poll-transgender-policies-canada
  14. I think this article speaks to the fears parents have about children being persuaded to think of themselves as other than their correct gender. Also, another comment found on another forum: I was a tomboy all through elementary school, to the extent that I passed as a boy and even occasionally wished I was a boy. Thank God it was the 90s and trans ideology wasn't a thing. I was always a girl. Now I'm a woman. Temporarily preferring to chill with the boys, or engage in male-centric activities, particularly at an age where concepts of self are so malleable and easily influenced, should never be perceived as having made me less of a girl. I fear putting labels on kids runs the risk of locking them into a particular path of self-expression. Oh I'm also reminded of my cousin who actively sought to pass as a boy and young man for many years. She was just terribly unhappy, a little traumatized, and in need of mental health support. She got it, and now she's just a plain old lesbian. I'm so relieved no one got their hooks into her during that vulnerable time, there was no pressure or encouragement to use hormones or more radical alterations to her body, all of which would have been a permanent response to a temporary state. https://tnc.news/2023/09/22/levy-the-queer-activists-dont-speak-for-me/
  15. I doubt many of the people at those protests have a problem with inclusion, depending on how overboard it gets. Sure, explain that some people, a small percentage, are gay or trans. Explain what that means, that it's fine, etc. I doubt many people have any real problem with that depending on how it's taught and what age group it's taught to. But that ridiculous, overboard video of a school welcoming small kids to gay pride day or whatever it was, with teachers and the whole building decked out in rainbows like it's the most wonderful celebration since Christmas is going to irritate a lot of people, including MANY from 'protected' identity groups. Like it or not if 'inclusion' is not taught properly, especially in the given environment, it can be seen as encouragement and romanticizing something to impressionable young kids. Especially the ones who don't even know what sex is yet. And adding a secretive context to it by refusing to inform parents just makes that even worse. Denialism? I bet virtually everyone here knows perfectly well what 'woke' means. It means social justice warriors. It means ANTIFA. It means segregating and giving preference to minority identity groups. It means denouncing, canceling and silencing anyone who disagrees with any of this, even in a minor context. Even by telling a joke or saying a word not even meant to be offensive. Denying that word has any meaning is disingenuous. So apparently the term 'woke' encompasses too many variables to mean anything to you but 'conservative' has a very narrow definition and anyone who diverges from it doesn't count. Okay, but haven't you disagreed about that with others, namely me, for discounting people who call themselves conservatives as not actually being conservative? Including the entire Republican Party? Something about true scotsmen?
  16. AFAIK "deplorable" just means you're not a university graduate and haven't been properly indoctrinated in thought control and the holy precepts of intersectionality, anti-racism and DEI. A good 20%, I believe, according to polls. Your pretense of being conservative is not designed to appeal to both sides, but as mockery. You're as 'woke' as anyone on this site.
  17. They want their kids taught facts, not poorly developed ideologically constructed ideas about gender fluidity.
  18. Only from the perspective of the Left. Generally, when the Left protests the Right ignores them. When the Right protests the Left gets bug-eyed furious and comes out to scream insults and obscenities at them. It's the same thing for meetings or talks with public figures. If someone like Peterson comes to town to give a talk the Left has to come out and demonstrate, and hopefully harass anyone attending, if not shut the talk down. If some left wing public figure comes out to give a talk the Right ignores it. I think this is a difference in the respect for freedom of speech the Right holds and Left now disdains.
  19. The Liberals have no morality when it comes to votes. So sure, they could be giving them their backdoor support for votes. Why wouldn't they? This is the party that refused to outlaw or condemn the Tamil Tigers during their savage attacks in Sri Lanka because of a few Toronto ridings that had high Tamil voter numbers they wanted. Plus, they're led by a man whose every waking minute is spent trying to figure out how to make himself more popular.
  20. Oh please. Ford is a spineless weakling. He backs down on all policies whenever he faces any kind of sustained anger from the Left and their media allies. All this means is if we're going to accept the Liberal-created 'green belt' as some kind of sacred, never-to-be-touched land now, that we're going to have to fit tens of millions more people into the core of Ontario cities over the coming decades as Trudeau continues to flood Canada with third world types. Look for China-type overcrowding and much higher prices for rent and housing.
  21. They aren't mainstream Left but they are far from unusual among the trans activist set and the kind of people who turn out for these protests.
  22. Here is a perfect example of why there can be no discussion with the Left on such issues. Taken from a comment on another forum. Trans kids existing isn't a debate. You either support trans kids being alive or you support them being dead. It's black and white because binary norms are abusive and untrue. Note that this is not exactly an unusual position for the trans activist set to take. They constantly use these sorts of drama queen statements so that anyone who has any doubts at all about a given policy actually wants them to die, or not exist (whatever the hell that even means). But if the default position is those who object to policies want children to die then how can there be a discussion?
  23. Liberals do. They love it. White liberals are so indoctrinated they're the only group that actually hates themselves.
  24. There is nothing 'less than nothing', and your bulging-eyed indignation at my giving my opinion is pretty damned worthless to me. Who did that? What evidence is there? I know everything Trudeau says leaves you in a giddy sense of rapture for hours afterward but us normal human beings require some sort of evidence when a politician with a habit of lying to us and who has demonstrated his lack of care about ANYTHING but his own popularity make a convenient statement. This guy was a foreigner, a religious fanatic who had no interest in Canada except as a convenient base where patsies would fawn over him and let him do whatever he wanted. I'm not crying over him.
  25. I'm pretty sure the course will be only loosely based on history, and be stepped in guilt-mongering about how we 'stole' the land from the poor, innocent, peaceful, noble natives. There'll be nothing there, I'm sure, about slave taking among the natives, or their habit of brutalizing and torturing each other. Instead the kiddies will be treated to the 'noble savage' myth and then the teacher, sobbing through her hands, will talk about how we persecuted and genocided them while making some of them go to school. Then the class will all join hands to denounce capitalism, Western imperialism, and sing Oh, Canada, our home on stolen land" together. And then Hardner will smile and say "I love it!" and then "By the way, I'm a conservative you know!" Maybe if you went to a snooty private school with Singh and Trudeau.
