A piece in the National Post lays pretty bare just how obvious those pro-Palestinian marches are in their support for Hamas. The literature and words used are a celebration of the attack on innocent civilians on the part of people we have allowed into our midst. People who clearly have never adopted Canadian values and have no intention of doing so. I remember the fuss when a proposed 'values test' for immigrants was up in place, the indignation and outrage. There is no perfect screening tool, of course, but we don't even try to keep people like his out. And as mass immigration continues they will come to outnumber us in a few decades, and then it will be their values and beliefs that will shape this nation, not ours. Organizers did not even attempt to conceal their purposes; official protest literature stated these were demonstrations to cheer Israeli dead and praise the 'martyrs' that did it “Last night, the resistance in Gaza led a heroic attack against the occupation…. Qualified does not mean best. It doesn't even mean close to the best. Any lawyer is 'qualified' to represent you. But that doesn't make them a star. I get that you don't care. I do. I think that if I'm hiring a lawyer maybe hiring from among the top ten in the class is kind of a good idea. And for you, well, number 237 is fine as long as they're black or Asian or indigenous. That seems kinda racist to me, but to each his or her own.

Well i guess if everyone that has the same qualification, there be no sense to read all the rest of the applications just pick the first one that comes in is that what your implying. And why do we have performance reviews, if everyone is the same.... they do have the same qualifications but have been practicing corporate law, or divorce cases, do you think they still hold the same experience level as say a lawyer that practices criminal law... .. no not really, as long as they are the right sex or color or religion, fat, skinny, hair color, eye color.
but thats not what is happening there is a quota for women, race, religion, etc...each employer must have a certain amount of each on staff...or risk being canceled or called out...thats what this article is about, it has nothing to do with hiring the best qualified candidate. this practice is discriminatory. But don't let that get in the way.

No, it would be. It would be full of angry, vengeful people who would be kept that way by extreme poverty ruled over by former terrorists who would spend much of the money given them by world Muslims to load up on bigger and better weapons. And it would be a catspaw for others, especially Iran, most especially if Hamas took over. Give them a state and the only thing on the mind of its Hamas rulers would be getting as many weapons, including drones, missiles, tanks, armored vehicles and aircraft as it could and then attacking Israel. Either alone or in concert with other Arab states. They are religious fanatics like Iran. Their charter demands the end of Israel and their leaders have called for the deaths of Jews wherever in the world they are found. -

Realistically, any Palestinian state would be an authoritarian shithole. The only question would be whether it would be like Iran, if Hamas won, or like Syria, if the PLO won. There's no resources there to support them, and they'd always be a charity case. The only sensible way to solve the problem is to bribe Jordan to take back the West Bank, which they once occupied, and Egypt to take back the Gaza strip. -

They didn't have to move. And if the new land of Israel hadn't been invaded by all its neighbors most of them probably would have stayed. Those who did stay became Israeli citizens and have more rights and freedom than just about any Arab in the Middle East or any Muslim outside the Western world. -

Most of the Jews were in the Middle East, either living there or having fled there. That includes a half million Jews expelled from surrounding Arab countries. The idea that the Jews took the land from the 'native' Arabs is just ignorant. There was no country there, not in that entire region until the western powers of the time created them. People like this are the enemies of civilization. And we've let them into our country. -
And when I speak about the kind of people we should not be bringing into Canada I'm speaking specifically of THESE people. Anyone who decides to go out and celebrate one of the world's worst terrorist attacks that saw gleeful religious fanatics gunning down women, children and old ladies, breaking into homes to drag out seniors as hostages, and shooting down hundreds of young people in a 'peace' dance is someone I don't want in my country. In a perfect world police would use their 'kettle' tactic to bottle them all up, arrest every one of them, take them to the airport, and fly them to the middle east on a one-way trip. Vermin, every one of them.

Selective, to me, would be deliberately choosing among the millions who want to come here, those who seem brightest, most adaptable and open-minded, and most likely to succeed and most interested in integrating and becoming a part of Canada. That ought to be the policy that underlines our entire immigration system. That it's NOT should be a scandal.

In the US, they don't seem to commit as much violence. Although it's not always easy to tell because the FBI has only in recent years started breaking out Hispanic as a separate race from White. And I don't see race crime stats past 2019 from the FBI. But as one comparison, Hispanics make up 29% of the population of New York city and 30.5% of arrests for murder and non-negligent manslaughter. Blacks make up 23% of the population but 64% of arrests for Murder/non-negligent manslaughter. By comparison, Whites make up about 40% of the population and just under 3% of arrests for murder and non-negligent manslaughter. Shootings, those where someone is actually hit anyway, are even more lopsided. You see a lot of Jews on the most wanted list? How many Jewish terrorists or prospective terrorists have we arrested? How many Jews are there in public housing units? But hey, when it comes to the likes of the Haredim or Hassidics I'm all for saying "Uh, no thank you" to prospective immigrants. No, I think all prospective immigrants should be interviewed to determine their basic attitude on life, how adaptable they are, how tolerant to difference, etc. In some European countries such people have been refused citizenship for things like refusing to shake hands with the opposite sex. In Canada, we basically have no standard because we think that would indicate we thought we were better than others. And how can anyone other than a white nationalist ever suggest our values are better than those of Iranians or Indians?

While there is some truth in that it wouldn't account for the number of single-parent families in poorer black communities. The men there certainly can't be said to be great bread earners. And while I haven't seen any actual study I'm willing to bet that if you did a poll of men in a prison and men working at Microsoft it would show the former group to be far more successful with women and have more children. On the other hand, now that I consider the reason, which is likely instinct, that too bears some correlation to your statement about females being 'mercenary' in looking for men. Instinctively, women seek out physically strong, confident (aggressive) men for protection and because they will be better hunters and providers for their offspring. The fact this is not really the case in today's world is irrelevant to instincts that evolved over so many hundreds of thousands of years.

It's the white knight in him. He sees this topic as casting some blame on black and indigenous people. As a liberal, he can't resist rushing to their rescue and bravely putting himself into the line of fire to 'protect' them from aspersions on their reputation or character.

There was a study done last year that showed white liberals as the only group who preferred other races to themselves. So yes, they're much more interested in self-criticism while embracing other races and groups and not caring about those groups faults and failings. Even making excuses for them. So when Blacks commit disproportionate crime it's not their fault, it's white people's fault.

Jewish families largely stay together. Jews are among the most economically successful and most educated people in almost every country in the world. In fact, if you removed the crazy Jews (Haredim, Hassidic) from the equation Jews are probably the top performers overall.

Some special constraint that had single-parent black families at about 23% in 1960 but 67% today? It's not slavery, despite the way you liberals have practically fetishized it.

It's not poverty alone. In the US, home to race statistics, blacks are roughly the same income as Hispanics, but they commit much more crime, especially violent crime. However, while their incomes are similar, Hispanic FAMILIES have quite a bit more wealth than Black families, though. Why? The program has made things worse, not better. Not just here but everywhere. This permissiveness toward addicts and their crimes has led to burgeoning tent cities of addicts in liberal-run cities across North America. And to the resulting increase in crime and decrease in social order and security. So yes, punish. Punish the addicts. Force them into rehab. Really punish the drug dealers, especially those dealing with fentanyl. REALLY punish the smugglers. I'd inspect every envelope, every package, every ship coming from China with a hair-tooth comb. And if that means freighters backed up all the way across the Pacific waiting for inspection, well I'm fine with that. Importers will learn to buy their goods from someone else.

I see him as a left-wing Trump. He's a narcissist of the first order and always has been. All those pictures and videos from long ago of him in goofy costumes and such were his efforts at getting attention. I read once he would pretend to fall down stairs to get attention. He's a preening, arrogant fool, shallow as hell, yet certain of his own infallibility. Much like Trump. And like Trump, once in office, the only thing he cared about was staying there. Every minute is spent on self-promotion. Every program is designed to make him look better and get him more votes. If it won't get more votes he doesn't want to have anything to do with it. The money he's cutting from defense is not going to be saved. That's not the point of the exercise. It's going to be 'retargeted'. In other words, spent on things that will get him more votes. No, but it would help if we didn't import that struggle to Canada by bringing in Muslims with no attempt to screen for values and beliefs. That's how we got the likes of the Khadrs here.

For some reason, people call Trump a businessman. He's not and never has been. Decades ago, during one of his bigger bankruptcy hearings, he sat there like a bump on a log, like someone's confused child. One of the bankers was quoted as saying he'd never in his life met a CEO who knew and understood less about his company's finances and operations. This was something I read many years back, by the way, before he ever ran for president. They were talking about whether to take over the company, put it into receivership, but they decided to leave Trump in titular control. He wouldn't get to make decisions, mind you. The reason they left him there is he's a great promotor and sales guy and they figured the company would earn more with him there. Trump knows how to read a room. He knows how to figure out what people want to hear and then tell it to them. And he has absolutely no morals or conscience about lying. His own employees have said as much, how he constantly lied to potential buyers of his expensive condos, telling them the marble was Italian, for example, when it came from Vermont. Whatever would impress people, whatever would make the sale, that's what he'd tell them. It's not a coincidence that he is quoted as saying "I love the uneducated".

What part of the world is 'safer' today? Want to see the pyramids? You can be shot by terrorists, or by police. Want to go to Central or South America? Gunmen everywhere. Perhaps you want to visit China and taken prisoner by the government so it can blackmail Trudeau again. Russia? What a laugh. Africa? There's fighting all over the place. India? Well, you're not a female, so you should be somewhat safe. But no safer than ten years ago. Maybe a nice visit to Iraq or Syria or Iran? To Cambodia or Sri Lanka? Maybe Turkey? Ukraine? Israel? Libya? Tunisia? Go ahead, August. Give us a list of all the places in the world that are safer to visit now.
