  1. I don't think they'd grant it to me. I, after all, have a fully operational brain. Yours seems to have been dead and rotted for some time now. So I return the suggestion to you.
  2. Arab Israelis have the same rights as Jewish Israelis. Oh, and Gaza was occupied by Egypt, and the West Bank was annexed by Jordan until 1967. Really? Why didn't they just ask the nearby Arab countries that stole the land and possessions of a million Jews and booted them out of their countries? Wouldn't that be a good example? If they wanted to steal all the land, that is. Oh, and Canadian natives have the same rights (and more) as any Canadian citizen today.
  3. Clearly, the problem, you silly twat, is that there are still a lot of restrictions on what services can be legally offered in Canada for fees. Like most surgeries. The far left (that's you) who have no understanding of money or economics, think its somehow better for these individuals to take their money and pay exorbitant fees to American hospitals to do surgeries. Some Canadian provinces even pay the US fees for surgeries rather than allow surgeries to be bought and paid for here. This leads to one more downgrading of Canadians' quality of life, along with flooding our streets with drugged-out criminals, flooding our cities with foreigners, many of whom can barely gobble a word of English, to lower wages and increase housing costs, subsidizing and protecting oligopolies so we have the most expensive services in the world, and imposing a massive regulatory burden on private industry, especially the natural resources industry. All while imposing high taxes on everyone to support all of the above.
  4. Palestinian studying in UK on student visa gets her visa cancelled after cheering on Oct 7 at rally. Imagine if Canada had the balls to act against people like this.

  5. Too bad Fiko didn't die

  6. It's in the party constitution. And for good reason. So the interim leader can't parlay their recognition value as interim leader to beat out the declared candidates.
  7. No, the shortage needs to be eliminated, first. Unfortunately, no level of government is willing to do so. There are a variety of means you could do to increase the number of doctors and nurses. 1 Create a Canada-wide registration system for foreign doctors and nurses, including temporary ones. Anyone who works in a Western country with a comparable level of healthcare sophistication can register there and work anywhere in Canada without going through the nonsense of years-long testing and evaluation from Canadian provincial medical associations. 2 Make healthcare technicians, doctors and nurses a special category for foreign workers. People from western countries working in those jobs now can be brought over to work for a month, six months, a year, or however long they want by any healthcare institution in Canada with an absolute minimum of red tape. 3 Offer free tuition for doctors willing to work as family doctors. Due to our shortage of medical/nursing school spaces, subsidize Canadian students to study in another Western country as long as their marks are high enough on condition they return to work here or pay it back with interest. 4 increase the number of medical/nursing school seats by bringing in foreign teachers and paying for more residency positions in hospitals. Temporarily cancel all foreign training positions in Canada, ie, the one with the Saudis.
  8. The sad thing is that middle-class - ie, the bulk of people - now get better care and treatment in the US than Canada. The only class that gets somewhat better care in Canada is the poor.
  9. I don't know if you'd care to poke your head up out of that red walled cave of yours, doggy, but that's what we have now. If you think rich people are waiting for fourteen hours at the ER to see a doctor, or waiting for years for hip replacement surgery or something you really are living in a different world. Even the moderately well-off like myself can pay to get a far more attentive doctor than the government-supplied version. And that attentive doctor works at a pricy clinic (appointments within 24hrs guaranteed) with connections that can often get me booted ahead of others for treatment or tests elsewhere. That's what they're asking for within Canada. And that would make far more sense than having them take their money elsewhere. The only issue is lack of doctors and nurses, but that shortage was created by the government and can be addressed if the various governments ever decide to do it. So far, no level of government has put an awful lot of effort into doing so.
  10. The requirement that the leader be bilingual works very heavily against them. Most bilingual people are in the cities or in Quebec/NB/NCR, where the Liberals have strong representation. Even the NDP has better representation in urban areas than the Tories. This leaves them choosing from a very, very tiny number of people come time to choose a leader. Personally, I think they should choose a leader regardless of his language abilities. Quebec just isn't that important to them anyway. They rarely get more than a handful of seats there. They should pick a good leader for English Canada, and then a strong French deputy for Quebec. She never ran for leader.
  11. In what way? Go ahead and try to list the similarities.
  12. No, you couldn't The narcissism of Trudeau and Trump goes well beyond what normal politicians exhibit. They're both rich boys, both underperformers, both demonstrably desperate for attention all their lives. They both want to be leaders but neither has any idea where to go and neither can establish real relationships with the people they work with or who work for them. And neither is really interested in the day-to-day governing that is part and parcel of the job. They want the job just for ego's sake. To that end, they are both deliberately divisive. I just thought of another similarity. Trump famously doesn't bother reading briefing notes to the extent desperate aids have taken to putting his name in every paragraph to keep his attention. Trudeau recently told the foreign interference panel he doesn't read his briefing notes on security (which means he probably doesn't read others either). Their entire time as leaders have been all about the performance, with no ideas, vision or objectives to governing other than to be the boss. I'm not saying Trudeau is as universally bad a person as Trump, but there are many startling similarities given they're at almost opposite ends of the political spectrum.
  13. No, it's because they think you and those like you are even worse arseholes than Trump.
  14. I just posted two cites that said otherwise in the very post you're giving this rage-quit reply to. But then, I recall you've often said you won't read cites if they're too long. So you probably didn't bother. I think your fury over discussing DEI is simply because you support it so much, and like a lot of the far left you cannot bear anyone daring to criticize your beloved racist programs. You're also acting, as you do from time to time, like a petulant child in a sulk. Telling me I'm lying and then stomping off in a huff rather than demanding a cite is what an immature, overly emotional man-child would do.
  15. You are, as usual, blithely unaware of the realities of things. Almost all those who support Trump know he's an asshat. They just don't care as long as the alternative is, well, people like you. Trump should have zero chance of getting in again, but people all across the US are so turned off by DEI and anti-racism and white privilege and left-wing city councils, district attorneys, and state governments refusing to let police control the addicts and other criminals on the street, so fed up with being preached to and having their schools and universities turned into indoctrination camps for gender fluidity and transeverything and white oppression, so angry at having every federal government program set up hierarchies based on race - with white people at the bottom - so frustrated at every corporation, school and government giving preference to minorities that they're ready to vote for almost anything other than that. Hell, even minorities are turning to Trump to get away from you people and your sanctimonious, self-righteous race and gender divisiveness.
  16. DEI started in the US as a proposed solution to the idea that after multiple generations of racism blacks didn't have the generational wealth and background to pull equal with whites. One can argue about the logic of that, and especially whether it should still be going on 50 years later. But at least they had a reason. In Canada, DEI was launched because... the Americans were doing it. There were no other justifications for it. Canada had no large visible minority group that was behind white people due to racism with the exception of natives. There were almost no non-whites in Canada except for natives prior to Mulroney's huge expansion of immigration numbers in the 1980s (because he was told by his immigration minister they would vote Tory). Even today more than 80% (and growing) of visible minorities are first-generation immigrants. Most of the rest are their kids. Only about 1% of visible minority members are third-generation or more.
  17. I would say someone who states no research by white people on the subject of DEI is worth reading or listening to would be described as a radical. I would also say that if school board trustees call those politely challenging school board secrecy to ask for the details of the antiracism curriculum being given to kids hateful, that would constitute being a radical. And if the director of education of that school board weeps just because the motion was put by two other trustees to open up such information (before the trustees were thrown out) he, she, or it, is probably a radical too, So should such people be in charge of children's education in Ontario? https://c2cjournal.ca/2022/07/parental-pushback-the-fight-against-critical-race-theory-at-an-ontario-school-board/ I would also say that if white kids are being taught they're bad because they're white, then those teaching this are also radicals. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/neil-gonsalves-first-person-biracial-children-1.6867493
  18. We know that Michael does this from time to time when he doesn't like what's being said but prefers to disparage rather than challenge it, all while saying it's beneath him to talk of such things.
  19. It could have been. But the Palestinians and their Arab brethren decided otherwise.
  20. An international pariah? Not among the 51 member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Not with Russia or China or those they influence like Cuba and Venezuala. Who would be more likely to face angry protesting crowds if they came to Canada to give a speech, the leader of Israel or the leader of Hamas? Hamas believes the attack on Oct 7 was a magnificent victory. Not just because they killed some Jews, but because the propaganda campaign orchestrated by them, Iran and Qatar's Al Jazeera has had enormous influence in reigniting antisemitism throughout the world. That tens of thousands of their people have died is irrelevant. They're martyrs and their families are to be congratulated. And international aid will send billions to rebuild Gaza anyway. More of the world hates Israel and Jews now! That is worth any number of deaths. Being a godless socialist you simply don't have the imagination to understand the mind of religious zealots. To understand the mind of Iran's former president, who said that as soon as Iran gets nuclear weapons they must use them on Israel. Because even though millions of Muslims will die in the ensuring retaliatioin, well, there are a lot of Muslims and they are spread around more. The nation of Islam will survive, but Israel will not. Well worth millions of deaths to people like this.
  21. And what would you have been doing back in the day? Occupying universities with signs saying "Hands off Hitler"? Demanding peace with an armed group that refuses to surrender and promises that they will launch more murderous rape attacks the instant they can is not something any moral or intelligent person could possibly support. Note that they promise such attacks will continue until Israel is destroyed, not until Palestine is free a brutal Islamic state.
  22. Maybe he doesn't understand why anyone would stand in solidarity with Nazis and yet call themselves left wing or progressive. Except that the general opinion towards Jews by these people is likely far worse than the Nazis had. Jews standing in solidarity with Gaza isn't much different from that last one. These people voted for Hamas, an organization which wants to kill all Jews in the world. And if there was another election they'd get in again, and in the West Bank too. Palestinians do NOT like Jews. AT ALL.
  23. That's nice. I used to work in the department that developed the software that examined incoming T1s for likely fraud or errors. I know the people in Refunds and Setoffs, and in Audit who were then sent the information so they could look into it. I know people in Ident who dealt with ID fraud. Who are these relatives of yours? Call centre agents? Much is audited, but when you're dealing with millions and millions of T1s, business returns, GST refund requests and various benefit requests that still leaves a ton of stuff that requires human attention. That's why some people get Notices of Reassesment months after they file their taxes. It's spread throughout the government and even upward to managers and senior directors. And since most meetings are now on TEAMs it serves no purpose to come in just to spend most of your day taking part in an online meeting. Further, doing so in a large room at a table with any sort of other people is both disruptive to them and will allow confidential information to be spread around that shouldn't be. It's also wasteful of time. Plug in and get going? Please. Every chair is supposed to be ergonomic. Many of them don't work. A lot of people have trouble hooking their laptop up. There are people with various light disabilities who have difficulty being constantly being interrupted by others talking, by people passing back and forth behind them, and by the sheer inhumanity of this system. The clerks don't have much choice. But people like lawyers, IT specialists, and accountants who have years of experience can make much more in the private sector and not deal with garbage like this. The people who are going to be leaving are the higher-skilled ones who'll have no difficulty being taken on either by provincial governments or the private sector for much higher money. The ones who will stay are the drones, who just don't care.
  24. Well, that's mighty generous of you. How many Israelis do you think would die in this war? Which would be an absolute certainty, btw, once Iran had succeeded in properly arming the new Hamas led Palestinian "nation". A war with a nation full of zealots who don't care if they die, who, in many cases, would be eager for death as that would give them martyrdom as long as they could kill some Jews first? And would Israel also have the moral authority to use nuclear weapons on the new Palestinian nation? The US did so on Japan, after all, because they were such fanatics a million Americans might have died in trying to conquer the country.
  25. I figure I might as well post this here since it bears on the whole DEI antiracism bullshit currently a requirement of seemingly every federal government policy, decision, initiative or program now. You thought all this stuff could be held to the universities? No, it moved down into the K-12 school system, with kids being taught they're oppressors or oppressed. But the DEI fanatics don't want to leave any possible stone unturned. Now, with the aid of the federal government's new daycare system, they want to make daycare centres 'antiracist'. How do you do this? Why, by subjecting all staff to reeducation programs that would have pleased any apparatchik in Mao's cultural revolution. In March, the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care held a national webinar on “Creating an Anti-Racist Child Care System in Canada,” which highlighted its three-year project, funded by the federal government, on how to make childcare “anti-racist.” The organization advocates, among other things, “mandatory anti-racism training as part of membership in the College of ECE.” Another recommendation is to have education programs for childcare workers that “demonstrate a commitment” to decolonization and include “a mandatory course on anti-racist pedagogy” and course materials from Black, Indigenous and racialized theorists. The activists also make recommendations to childcare operators, such as “ongoing anti-racism, inclusion and equity training” for staff, “ongoing training and coaching to develop and implement anti-racist, inclusive pedagogy” and creating an “advisory committee that includes Black, Indigenous and racialized community members.” Activists look to turn daycares into woke indoctrination camps | National Post
