  1. They're not asking. They're demanding. And the universities mostly don't have any investments in Israel. So to justify themselves the protesters want the universities to divest themselves of any stock in any company that sells anything or buys anything from Israel, or any ETF or Mutual fund that has such stocks in it. And who exactly are these ignorant little twats to demand anything? They should simply be booted off campus and expelled from the universities. The problem is the grownups aren't in control of universities and haven't been for decades now. This is the sort of brainless hate I'm talking about. People like you would hate Israel if they invaded Rafah, and hate them if they don't. You'd hate them if they breathed. To your tiny pea brain they have uniforms and are successful therefore they are the oppressors, and your poor, helpless Palestinian terrorists are merely oppressed victims. Come on, admit it. You cheered when you heard they slaughtered a thousand Jews on Oct 7, probably poured eagerly over every description of the tortures, rapes and murders of women and children, right?
  2. Untrue. I have a low opinion of fools. And those protesting fall into two categories, the Muslims who reflexively hate Jews, and the fools. According to these people Israel is a uniquely evil state, the worst by far on the face of the Earth. What other nation-states are currently being widely accused of genocide, of deliberately targeting women and children, of war crimes, of starving people, etc.? Where are the throngs of people out marching because of the way China treated its Muslims. If Israel put Muslims in concentration camps for retraining these people would lose their collective minds. The UN says Sudan is the worst crisis in the world and none of them give a damn. They're not protesting because they care about people dying. They're protesting because they hate Jews. Or because they're left-wing twats. I meant the universities don't have investments in Israel.
  3. Says everyone who isn't either a jew hater, a vapid progressive, or a troll.
  4. They only want to stop it because Israel is winning. If it was the other way around none of these people would be out demonstrating. Many would be celebrating. None of them have investments in Israel nor in Israeli companies. The protesters can't even name any investments they want the to sell.
  5. The UN gave it to them.
  6. If you abandon that property and leave you don't get to claim it's yours many years later when it's in a new country and you're not a citizen. If they valued that property they should have stayed there or returned much sooner. No, religion is. How many of the million Jews expelled from surrounding countries were compensated for their property?
  7. And weak-kneed, left-wing university administrations wringing their hands at the thought of sending in the police. I note both Ottawa U and UofT warned they would not tolerate encampments. When encampments were set up they then did absolutely nothing. A UofT professor 'infiltrated' the encampment there and found most weren't even associated with the university in any way. Yet the university might have to call off its graduation ceremonies because of them. And this is, ironically, for students who missed graduation ceremonies as high school students due to covid. They're certainly not standing up for the civilians tortured, raped and murdered by the Palestinians on Oct 7. No, they're cosplaying. As soon as this sort of thing spread through the US system it was only a matter of time before our empty-headed progressives imitated them. Whatever progressives do in the US almost immediately spreads to Canada, even if not relevant. The cause is irrelevant. They really don't care. They mostly don't even know much about it. The white kids are there to feel the thrill of taking part in something 'virtuous', and getting selfies out onto their social media pages for 'likes'. The Muslims are there because they hate Jews. There are no principles involved here. Certainly, the demonstrators don't have any. Thus the total absence of any calls for Hamas to release hostages or stop firing rockets into Israel.
  8. Life is not fair. Any government that tries to make it so is doomed to fail. Anyone who expects fairness in life is doomed to disappointment. No one is entirely equal. The good-looking, the taller, the richer, the healthier, the smarter, are always going to have an edge. The only way to have a just legal system is if all get the same treatment. Saying you'll let black boys or native boys off with a slap on the wrist because they're black while white boys get the book thrown at them is fundamentally unjust and leads to disrespect for the entire system.
  9. Watching some of these people being arrested it's clear the great majority are young women - demonstrating on behalf of a group that likes to rape, torture, and murder young women...
  10. Resorting to name calling is a clear sign of losing an argument and nothing more to add to you point LOL
  11. The spoiled, pampered children of the elites LARPing as revolutionaries on behalf of extremists who would stand them against a wall if they ever came to power. It j just shows the poor overall quality of education in Canada and the degree of decadence and corruption in our education system. It also demonstrates how meaningless a lot of young people see their lives that they become so attracted to these kinds of performative demonstrations of virtue.
  12. Facts triggering you?
  13. When you want it to. When you are searching for a way to justify finding something 'unconstitutional'.
  14. And well before then, too. The only thing that creates harmony is absolute, autocratic dictatorship with enough force to suppress rebellion. Incidentally, if you added up all the deaths in all the wars Israel has been involved in since its inception you'd come to about 60k people. The US has killed that many while fighting ISIS. Almost ten times that many have died in the Syrian wars alone - which are continuing. Twice that number died in the fighting between Iran and Iraq.
  15. Oh, you want world population comparisons, eh? Okay, how's this one? Muslims make 23% of world population but got 1.5% Nobel prizes, while the Jews account for 0.2% of world population but got 20% Nobel prizes. Try this one if it makes you happier. 25 men and by my reckoning about 9 are Muslim. No obvious Jews here. https://www.boloprogram.org/
  16. How many Jews do you find here vs how many Muslims? https://www.tps.ca/organizational-chart/specialized-operations-command/detective-operations/investigative-services/homicide/most-wanted/
  17. I didn't mention 718.2. You mention it here and suggest I credited it with the responsibility. All 718.2 does is give various aggravating/mitigating factors. But don't forget that 718 itself sets reasons that should underly a sentence, including deterrence and the protection of society and to denounce unlawful conduct. I would argue many judges seem to have ignored this part. The supreme court definitely has. Now in 718.2(e) the criminal code says the following: all available sanctions, other than imprisonment, that are reasonable in the circumstances and consistent with the harm done to victims or to the community should be considered for all offenders, with particular attention to the circumstances of Aboriginal offenders Note the word "reasonable". Perhaps it was parliament's mistake in thinking judges would be reasonable, or knew what that meant, just as it was their mistake in thinking judges would consider the danger to society and harm to individuals. It was the Supreme Court that decided, in the Gladue and Ipeelee decisions, that not only must an aboriginal offender's background be taken into effect, but the entirety of wokeness surrounding natives. In short, not just their individual circumstances, which was what parliament said but: The Court said judges must consider the systemic and background factors affecting Aboriginal people in Canadian society, such as the history of colonialism, displacement, and residential schools. They must also consider how that history continues to translate into lower educational attainment, lower incomes, higher unemployment, higher rates of substance abuse and suicide, and higher levels of incarceration for Aboriginal peoples. In short, the only problem in the law was giving soft-headed, bleeding-heart woke judges the authority to interpret it too freely.
  18. Hitler got elected. In my experience, Jews are far better citizens, far more productive, and far less violent than Arabs.
  19. Yes. Like so many racial activists she loves to play the victim card.
  20. Let's harken back to the post I replied to. But if the Supreme Court wishes to take into consideration past transgressions against marginalized groups who they believe were not treated fairly, I have no problem with that either Over the years, it has appeared to me the SC has bent over backward with regard to native rights, to the point of accepting 'oral history' as testimony on treaty issues. No, it didn't write 718.2 but it enthusiastically embraced and expanded it, and signaled the lower courts they could read into this the same lower sentencing guidelines for anyone who isn't white. This has led to an increase in violent crime and street crime, and to people dying because their murderers were not safely behind bars. The SC and the courts in general have become woke, with all the racial prejudice that goes with this, and they need to be reigned in. The courts have always taken a person's personal history into account. There was never any need to make racial sentencing all-but mandatory based on race alone.
  21. Uh, she did not come anywhere near to leading the conservatives.
  22. Everything associated with Gladue.
  23. The Democrats are commited to pouring vast sums of money into fighting climate change, seem hopelessly enamoured of DEI as a racial preferential policy that must be injected into every single government program, and which means, in effect, putting everyone not white and straight at the head of the line, and pushing white people, especially white men who are straight, to the rear. They promote CRT in schools, antiracism as official policy, and criminal sentencing according to race - all of which is identical to our own Liberal party. They are pro-gay, pro-trans, pro-BLM, pro-abortion on demand, anti-police, and anti-death penalty, among others. Why don't you tell me how that differs from people's standard definition of 'liberal'.
  24. No, I'm not. As a professor said earlier today who accompanied two Jewish girls into class at Columbia past screaming students waving Palestinian flags they most definitely thought it was a threat. Jewish students aren't wearing any symbols of who and what they are on college campuses anymore. Or do you think you know better than them what is and isn't a threat to them? They've had thousands of years of recognizing when the signs of approaching danger grow around them. To some of the demonstrators, I'm sure that's correct. To many, if not most of the Muslim demonstrators, there is no difference.
