You folks are as hypocritical as it gets.... Whine and cry and are pi$$ed we send money and aid to the Ukraine. Or admonish governments for sending aid and castigating African nations that are rioting and killing people yet shame Canada for not saying anything about the crap going on in Iran?? The middle east is a shithole of protests and disruption all the time..... if not one country then it is the other. All self inflicted....so yeah, nogivashit anymore...nothing to do with leftists or righty tighties..the governments in the west are tired of stepping in, sorting it out for. a while then watching it got for a crap again.....just nogivashit anymore about that crap over there. And trump?? He bombed the shit outta Iran and now he says he will help??? Oh yeah, because they said they will send him oil if he quits bombing LOL Iraq will be next...then Syria and who knows after that.

Seriously??? Are you on of those Americans that still thinks the exporter pays the tariffs...even today, after a year of Trump? You do know that you, the American that buys the stuff pays the tariff?? LOL How ya gonna make out when a 100% tariff is put on all the electricity your eastern seaboard imports form Quebec?? Or when Michigan and several other middle states have to pay 100% tariff for the electricity they import or from Ontario. ? Oh and, what about the oil coming from Alberta??? Besides, as I said....CUSMA is in effect for most products imported into the US from Canada (and Mexico) and they are basically tariff and tax free. So, unless Trump tears up CUSMA..it is all "dust in the wind" and meaningless LOL I truly thouhgt you were smarter than your comments LOL

The conservatives were not friends of the Military. Answer from AI to question: "Have conservative governments been military friendly"...... "Conservative governments in Canada have historically purported a "military-friendly" image, emphasizing strong national defense, increased equipment procurement, and support for veterans. However, this record is mixed, with critics often pointing to gaps between rhetoric and actions, particularly regarding funding levels, procurement delays, and support for injured veterans during their time in power (notably under the Harper government)" The same procurement processes and political and agency interference were involved in all our Military procurement, regardless who was in power.

Are you American?? You do realize it is the Americans that pay the tariffs? They have to buy the imports, not us. Canadians can pay the rent and eat if we sell our exports. Will Trumps 100% tariffs also include all the electricity the US imports from Quebec and powers a huge market in the Eastern Seaboard of the US?? Or The electricity from Ontario that supplies a large part of Michigan and other states?? How about a 100% tariff on the oil form Alberta?? Lastly, almost all of our exports are covered under CUSMA which has no (or very little) tariff. Unless Trump decides to invalidate CUSMA now, things remain the same.

For sure...that is exactly what is happening...we hate interference by other countries but we like to tell other countries we do not like their standards or what they do internally....kind hypocritical eh? Trading partners do not need to be friends or do as we say or like...they just need to buy what we have to sell and smile at each other while trading.

Carney Articulates The New World Order In Davos

Yup....but when you have little to offer in return..then you are just a consumer. As I said, we produce so little, we sold ourselves to others many decades ago. We cannot add tariffs unless we want to do without or pay more and well, you know what happens when prices go up. -

Correct but, when you are primarily a buyer and not a producer, you will always be at the whim of the store. -
Yes we are but...we do not , especially for major crown procurement projects. As I mentioned, there are too many players demanding significant slices of the pie to be able to satisfy them all and pi$$ing any one of them off would be political disaster.

The Griffon was a mistake from the get-go. Trying to turn basically a commercial helicopter into a Military one was doomed to failure and in the ongoing years, it has been proven to be a failure. So much maintenance, so many modification and reduction in capability plagued the Griffon. As for 8-9 years of process...well, the Military would be quite sure what it wants but...the government and all the non military players wanting their piece of the pie will for sure drag the process on. It has nothing to do with "Carneys" system. Our Military procurement has been awful for half a century....ask any military person. I was involved with 2 major crown projects...the SAR helicopter replacement and the Sea King replacement. The biggest hold ups and issues and problems were with the Regional Development agencies. ACOA, (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), from the Atlantic Provinces and CED (Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions) which is the worst to deal with, Ontario and, the West (which has now separated into Prairies and BC.) Plus there is now the North. And as always, there was also input required from the indigenous. So, getting all them together was, to say the least, a challenge. LOL. Hence, that is why it takes so long to buy defence products. All those folks need to get their slice and can hold things up if they don't.

So, you choose to pay "thousands"...OK. Crime and potholes are generally a municipal and provincial problem.
