I’ve never seen so many vagrants on the street
ExFlyer replied to RedDog's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Another dumb comment. People get into business to make profit. Are you saying making a profit should be made illegal?? Businesses should be taxed so much they cannot pay shareholders? Why get into or stay in business? If you think it was just "speculators" or foreign buyer that drove up housing prices, you better shake your head and get that stupidity out . It was the common person that over bid on houses and drove the panic buying, Now, when the reality hammer came down, they are all crying and, I think may will default... deja vu early 80's. -

It is an obsession, no matter how you try to disguise it If you compare anything make sure they equal in all aspects. Maybe you are just jealous you never will attain such heights that people would actually like you enough to vote for you LOL -
History. Long gone and over and the cancel culture can make it go away, as it should Like so many other events, it happened but no one cares anymore, except for a few die hards on this forum.

Part 2 Canada Concerned over US program
ExFlyer replied to herbie's topic in Canada / United States Relations
What program? Was it Americans that were going to fund this build?? Cancelled anyway, so it is moot. Canada burnt it's bridges on the last NAFTA/USMCA negotiations. (to assist Quebec dairy industry primarily) Yes, very sick of hearing that. You (the collective you) are owed nothing. You have to earn what you want. Why service areas that no one want to live? -

One of the dumbest things ever said. The government gets crapped on for putting on rent control. Can you imagine if the government starts to put price control on housing?? What exactly do you think the government should do if purchasers start a bidding war for a house?? Ban bidding wars. Disallow sellers form accepting highest bid? What exactly do you think the government should do if a seller puts a high price on their house? Tell them to lower it? What exactly should the government tell developers? Don't develop the land and infrastructure as required by local bylaws and go away? Lessening the available housing? What do you want the government to do with real estate investors? Tell them they cannot do that anymore and there don't let them build houses?? Cry all day long about government oversight and control and now whining that government does not do enough?? Go figure LOL Dumb, dumb, dumb. -

Immigrants and refugees are not the vagrants. They get more than any vagrant ever will, housing, money for food and clothing etc etc. (from all levels of government) -

Cannot speak of UK party dissension. Not sure where you get that info. If you go against the part you will most certainly be, at the minimum, chastised. At the most, completely ignored and become ineffective. The party has lots of authority to stall or stop any benefit to their jurisdiction, and they do. Party discipline is the same the world over. Piss off your party or your chosen leader and there will be consequences. -

Hasten registration of foreign trained medical professionals
ExFlyer replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Your communities plight is not unique. My daughter is Yellowknife NWT and a constant part of the job is to find nurses and medical staff. They pay transportation, room and board, huge wages and benefits and they cannot get anyone to come up there. It is not UNBC that is to blame. Young people just do not want to go to small towns and remote communities. -

Doctors internship (residency) happens after formal schooling and lasts 3 to 7 years. There is one standard but, provinces are the health authorities in this country and they have additional requirements and standards. my daughter graduated from U of O and worked in Ontario for a while, moved to BC, and had to write the BC licence and was able to do less than in Ontario and now in the NWT, it is different again. Ontario is paying nurses and PSW education. -

Adding in the school year 21/22. Well we are here and it didn't happen. It is still 4 years before they graduate. You cannot just add 1200 students to a program, no matter what government says. There is a lot more than just sitting in classrooms and getting lectures. There is not enough equipment for more students and, there are not enough teachers (also medical staff) for extra students. As for doctors, Like that is going to have an impact ?? "Ontario is adding 160 undergraduate seats and 295 postgraduate positions over the next five years, the largest expansion of undergraduate and postgraduate education in over 10 years." My daughter is high level in a hospital. Always looking for nurses. The primary problem is shift work. No one wants to work the 12 hour shits and especially at night. Like any job, it take a long time to get the seniority to be able to pick your shifts (and time off and vacation times). So, they leave. They go to 9 to 5 clinics or at home services. Plus, who wants to work in small towns and remote communities? -
Whoa... Just like last February in Ottawa Deja Vu all over again ?

Very incorrect. Medical schools, or any professions not just medical, are restricted by the number of spaces each year. The schools only have so many openings each year, not by government decree but by physical space. In Ontario, it seems to be money. The gripe is Bill 124 ,Protecting a Sustainable Public Sector for Future Generations Act, 2019, which limited pay raises to 1% for each of the following 3 years. The nurses want it repealed to bring back nurses. -
And it is another wild pitch into the stands. 0 for 3 now. ""Where and when did I "declare" anyone "far right"? " " Still deflecting. Sad you don't have more LOL

Sharkman farts a lot?? Thanks for the warning bandana

Just because some people have cable tv does not make them international figures. Still, who is Musk?? Are you talking about the tesla guy?? I think you are far exaggerating their influence Every country in the world has some uniqueness. The internal governance of those countries is what they chose it to be, just like Canadians did.

Where and when did I "declare" anyone "far right"? What is a sharkman?? As if I care
