I am not as dramatic as you. I see the protests as defiance and being pissed off that Israel has bombed Gaza for 3 months and killed 20 to 30,000 people. Most all being civilians and women and children, has prevented aid form getting to the millions of refugees living in squalor. Even the US has begin aid by ship and built ports to be able to deliver aid because Israel has all but cut off road access. I am equally upset that Israel has not stopped the bombing and is planning more raids and will not even sit to discuss cease fire. It seems that Israel is doing it's utmost to wipe out hamas regardless of the cost of civilian life.

We have inefficient transit because we are and have been a car culture. Tokyo, density is absurdly higher than anywhere in Canada. And they built their system right after the US gave them everything after WWII. Hong Kong is even higher density in a area smaller than GTA. NYC has been building their system for well over 100 years to get where they are now. London same as NYC, over 100 years and still building. No sense to buy a car because there is no place to park in any of those places LOL Nothing "woke" about it. Our municipalities and the people that live in them would rather drive than take transit and not that it cost an absurd amount, it is less palatable. Comparing to cities that have had this for over 100 years is stupid.

There is no "doctor" shortage. There is a family physician shortage biu doctors, we have lots of them. They stay but their money goes south. Panama is actively looking for folks to put their money into Panamanian banks. Corporations have always been free to look for better situations. That is why we have no manufacturing anymore. Refugees are a culture of takers. They come from somewhere where they lived in camps and tents ect and they come here fully expecting to be tended to. In our town, the mission and others are full of refugees going there to sleep and eat. The director said on the news 1/2 to 2/3 of the folks are refugees or immigrants now. They know how it works.

No business is going to cut its' profits to help our (my ) quality of life. Business is in business to make profit for shareholders and owners...not us simple folk. Waiting for business to improve quality of life is a laugh.
