Having been involved with football for many years, the NFL provided the CFL with loans years ago (1997). It also proposed a situation where some NFL teams would "loan" players to the CFL but the players would still belong to the NFL teams. It was a way of the NFL teams to have extra players on the roster above and beyond the practice roster. The CFL did not agree to this because it could jeopardize the Canadian content. The Maritimes were to have a CFL team but that has collapsed, several times. They have 5 university teams and many amateur teams but cannot get a CFL team. It seems every other year some CFL team is on the verge of collapse or bankruptcy.

My question is why is it only CRA employees? Is no other government agency investigating to find out if any of those employees illegally got CERB payments? "The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has provided new data on the number of employees who were found to have received the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The investigation into inappropriate CERB payments began in June 2023. All CRA employees were reviewed and 600 were identified as requiring additional investigations." https://ottawa.ctvnews.ca/number-of-cra-employees-fired-for-inappropriately-claiming-cerb-approaches-300-1.7048785 "The CRA has since decided many people were ineligible for the payments and has been working to get the money back. It said it's still trying to get about $9.53 billion paid back from individuals including $5.41 billion from CERB, $2.67 billion from CRB and $1.25 billion from the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit. Why it's 'very hard' to find work in Canada

Ha HA HA...you know I am right and you have no better retort??? Ha Ha HA -
I truly hope that peolpe see through Jagmeet and his policies. Any person that uses blackmail to get what they want does not deserve to be supported by the people. NDP cannot stand on it's own so it will always be a burden on other parties backs. PP has to win by majority or we will have more years pf NDP b;blackmail.

Look, not arguing with you. The army always had the most personnel. You say that repeatedly and no one is disputing that. They also have the greatest turnover. People join, serve a short time and get out. The army is also the one that has the biggest retention problem. You also keep saying this. That is all I am saying. Never said there are no guns, I know there are. What I said is of you think the conservatives are going to change the gun laws, you are dreaming. Charged for a squirt gun?? A wee bit over the edge aren't you LOL.

The Army always had the most personnel. They also had the largest turnover of personnel In Europe, they parade with military equipment and drive through towns and villages. We do not do that here in Canada. They have ten, twenty times the number of military bases than we have in Canada. I live in a Canadian city,..... no guns. I have no doubt the conservatives will get in and I also have no doubt that there will be no changes in the gun laws.

Why it's 'very hard' to find work in Canada
ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You are correct. They pay the minimum wage, as per the law. Giving a raspberry, blueberry or apple or fruit picker $35 an hour means that by the time it hits your grocery store it would be $30 or more a pound and no one would buy it and it rots on the grocers shelf. He no longer buys it an then the farmer goes out of business and you would have no choice but to pay for imported produce.....that is picked by foreign workers No more farmers and no more workers and business and supply chains that support the farmers and what they need to buy and entire towns die. Frack, you are so smart LOL NOT! -
Why it's 'very hard' to find work in Canada
ExFlyer replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I have relatives in the Fraser Valley of BC and in the Okanagan and they could not do without foreign workers . Their crops would die in the fields and rot on the trees. Almost 95& of the workers are foreign, the non foreign are the crew bosses and supervisors. Canadians will not do the piece work. Not comparing but saying the US also has to rely on foreign workers in California, Southern States and Florida. -

What? Foreign workers? The program that has been going on since 17973? I thought the topic was temporary foreign workers, not immigration I am staying on topic. The article in the original post was addressing temporary foreign workers....you?? -

You don't have to like it. Bottom line, if Canadians want work, it is there. They don't so we need foreign workers. -

And, who was in power in the 70's? And started the temporary foreign worker program? Oh yeah, liberals LOL "The TFW Program was created in 1973 to allow employers to hire foreign nationals to fill gaps in their workforces on a temporary basis. The program has grown and been updated over the years to respond to Canadian labour market conditions." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_foreign_worker_program_in_Canada And because there were not enough Canadians wanting to do the work...sounds like today. There are jobs but beneath Canadians LOL -

When you say "Yes, but boneheaded decisions by the Liberals set the conditions to make it worse." the topic is about foreign workers so, your comment about bonehead decisions must be about foreign workers? So, what is the "bonehead decision by the liberals"? It is not profit, it is all about staying in business. Can't make it hear so, go where it can be made cheaper. Yes, there is competition etc and that is why manufacturing moved., to stay in business. Actually, the profit in cars is after sales market and of course, the huge government subsidies. -

What bonehead decisions by the liberals? Foregn workers have been a needed workforce for generations, overseen by all levels of government and all political parties. The agri business would collapse if it had to pay Canadians what they think they deserve even if they would go to work there. -

We have little to no manufacturing in this country due to high labour costs. This is not new. manufacturing has left the country because the companies cannot remain competitive having to pay the wages demanded. Not going to get into the debate about making living wages or what the work is worth. The fact is jobs are lost to foreign workers and countries due to high wage demand. It is not even people caring about profit, it is about who will buy the product if it cost so much. No one buys so, the companies go out of business and the jobs are gone.. "social cohesion of the people of canada."??? What is that?? -

"the Liberal government eased rules on temporary foreign workers, among other measures. " Why do we even have a temporary foreign workers program?? Is it because the farmers and others need workers cannot get them forrn "Canadians"? -
My point was to address the "downsizing". To that end, no one wants to be in the military any more and least of all the Army. Oh and, people came by the tens of thousands to see airshows and no one saw army games And guns are not acceptable any more. I have Grand Kids and when I go to Toy R Us, I do not see guns anywhere,

When I joined in 1969 the Canadian military was in a restructuring mode. The biggest hot was against the Army. https://www.lermuseum.org/1946-to-present/1965-1979/restructuring-of-the-canadian-armed-forces-1969 The Navy lost ships and even the ony aircraft carrier we ever had. Gone were personel too. The Airforce was also destined to be downsized with the "golden handshake" where they offered anyone over 10 years with a pension and many took it. Also, in the 70' the establishments and squadrons were downsized or eliminated. My point is, the Canadian military is not just Army and there has been military personnel downsizing for the past 5o years. No doirespect for our Army but, the Army has never been a number one choice when joining the Military
