PM Harper Shows Canadian Loyalty to Israel
Hudson Jones replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
Really, Rue? I mean, seriously? There must be some kind of a problem in your brain that prevents you from understanding what you are reading: I said: You responded with: Just in case you missed what you quoted from me, here it is: that Harper, as the Canadian leader, has failed to condemn. The underlining and bold is to illustrate how you are out to lunch, again. -
PM Harper Shows Canadian Loyalty to Israel
Hudson Jones replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
No one said Harper "supports" child torture. What I said was that Harper has failed to condemn Israel time and time again for violating international law. One of those being, child torture. Harper pretends that Israel is a model nation and it's on par with what Canada stands for morally, 'today'. When in fact, Israel continues to violate international human rights laws on a daily basis. Why has Harper not talked about the Jewish settlements on Palestinian territory? Why has Harper not talked about the demolishing of Palestinian homes on Palestinian land by Israel? Why has Harper not talked about and condemn child torture by Israel? When these Israeli violations are brought up, one of the saddest displays of Zionist apologists is when they somehow try to equate their actions to Canada, by bringing up what Canada did 100 years ago. Like their treatment of children at reservation schools. This is how desperately sad this unconditional love has taken some of these people. -
the historic iran deal and its opponents
Hudson Jones replied to bud's topic in The Rest of the World
First of all, the Arabs in Israel have less rights and are discriminated against in Israel. They are treated differently than Jews, both in the legal system and culturally. This has been shown time and time again. Second, why the need to bring up the worst examples when there is criticism of Israel. What other countries do, does not justify what Israel does. Israel keeps saying that it's a model of democracy and that the IDF is the most moral army in the world. Their actions and their words never add up. When a rapist is criticized, he should not be excused because there are other rapists or killers out there. Not sure why you are posting that link, like it's some smoking gun that Iran is not abiding by the rules. It's important for you to read the articles you post. This not the first time you have posted something and try to make it look like it's something it is not. There is no requirement in the deal to 'dismantle' everything. It's all in the text and the article you are providing: Zarif accused the Obama administration of creating a false impression with such language. "The White House tries to portray it as basically a dismantling of Iran's nuclear program. That is the word they use time and again," he said, urging Sciutto to read the actual text of the agreement. "If you find a single, a single word, that even closely resembles dismantling or could be defined as dismantling in the entire text, then I would take back my comment." He repeated that "we are not dismantling any centrifuges, we're not dismantling any equipment, we're simply not producing, not enriching over 5%." "You don't need to over-emphasize it," Zarif said of the White House language. A separate summary sent out by the White House last week did not use the word dismantle. -
Is he SERIOUSLY singing "Hey Jude" to his Jewish friends in Jerusalem???

Thanks for providing the links. I never knew there was a mantra that oil development is screwing with the environment. The links are a good starter, but where can you show me how these developments, that are agreed upon, are 'screwing up the environment'? What the tarsands do to the environment and how these developments on the reserves effect the environment are different in many ways.

PM Harper Shows Canadian Loyalty to Israel
Hudson Jones replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
I can criticize Israel for their policies without being an anti-semite or a supporter of dictators and war criminals. It doesn't matter what Bibi, Harper or you say, it doesn't change the fact that it's okay to speak out against Israeli policies that are wrong. Your comments are ignorant and a fallacy that you and other Israeli apologists keep repeating. They don't add up. -

It's not off topic. We're talking about policies. This is an inconvenient truth that torturing of children is an Israeli policy that Harper, as the Canadian leader, has failed to condemn. Harper has failed as the leader of Canada to speak out against numerous reports showing the torture of children by Israel. -
I'm sure you will be following this up with many links to the many times that this occurs.

Hudson Jones replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
No it's not. We're talking about Canada's policy and Harper's misrepresentation of what Canada stands for. Canada's policy should be to object to any country's policy that allows torture. Especially when it's torture of children. -
Have a look at the link and the information on the hybrid truck. There is plenty of ooh's and aah's. Your laziness and ignorance makes it difficult to respond to you: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25721122

Canada's national policy states that the Jewish settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are illegal, as according to international law. Here is a chance for you to learn something: Occupied Territories and SettlementsCanada does not recognize permanent Israeli control over territories occupied in 1967 (the Golan Heights, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip). The Fourth Geneva Convention applies in the occupied territories and establishes Israel's obligations as an occupying power, in particular with respect to the humane treatment of the inhabitants of the occupied territories. As referred to in UN Security Council Resolutions 446 and 465, Israeli settlements in the occupied territories are a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The settlements also constitute a serious obstacle to achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace. This is why Harper's comments do not reflect Canada's national policy. They only reflect his personal values. Not only that, but Canada support human rights, especially when it comes to the rights of children. This is why Harper, as Canada's Prime Minister, should be condemning Israel's torture of children: B’Tselem headlined “Abuse and torture in interrogations of dozens of Palestinian minors in the Israel Police Etzion Facility.” http://www.globalres...hildren/5349509 UN report accuses Israel of child torture http://www.smh.com.a...0621-2om9x.html -

Harper is once again mixing up his views for national policy. That said, I'm actually glad Harper spoke as he did in Israel. He revealed his true narrow-minded views and his questionable loyalty to Canadian values. I am concerned, however, that we, as taxpayers have to foot the bill for over 30 of Harper's posse who went to Israel to clap for him. I'm not surprised that Harper has stayed silent on this - Further reflecting that his views do not reflect Canada's values: B’Tselem headlined “Abuse and torture in interrogations of dozens of Palestinian minors in the Israel Police Etzion Facility.” http://www.globalresearch.ca/testimonies-prove-israel-tortures-palestinian-children/5349509 UN report accuses Israel of child torture http://www.smh.com.au/world/un-report-accuses-israel-of-child-torture-20130621-2om9x.html -
So did the guy who is now backing these hybrid trucks. The reason is that he was able to get over the ignorance and the fear of progress and change.
-
Look at this old white man backing and promoting an electric hybrid truck: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25721122 Technology + environmentalism will trump your fear of change and all the foot dragging. All you will be left with is the scorn from the following generations who will blame you for slowing down progress and harming the environment.
-
People like you will only slow the progress but you will not be able to change the inevitable. Our reliance on oil will decrease on many fronts. Science and technology trumps scared people who are afraid of progress and change.
-
Do you think the rate of growth will stay constant? There is a 50% growth in the market each year. That is significant and by pretending otherwise only shows that you're not realistic.
-
People are afraid of progress (changing to renewable and cleaner energy) for various reasons. One reason is because progress, no matter how many positives it may have, would mean that their investment (companies that rely on oil) would no longer give the same return. This is why so much money is invested in PR to make people believe that we have no other choice. That we're fighting a losing battle. That we need to continue to do this, otherwise, everything will collapse. The reality is that there are many alternatives and those alternatives continue to become better and better. PM Harper Shows Canadian Loyalty to Israel
Hudson Jones replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in The Rest of the World
I think this pandering is due to a combination of religious ideology of the hardcore base of the party and the 350,000 Jewish voters who are in key ridings, which mostly used to vote Liberal. With the resurgence of the Liberal party, the Jewish votes Harper had gained in the previous elections could be in jeopardy. -
- More integration with social media, like facebook. Allow people to post with their facebook/twitter accounts. This will definitely increase participants. Many people are turned away from posting because they have to go through registration. - Add + / - or thumbs up and down, so every time I post, pro-Zionists can give me a (-) and the anti-Zionists can give me a (+). - A point to better moderate the board: When posts between people become personal and someone accuses another posters of something, like lying or 'calling for genocide', the person accusing must be able to back up their claim by showing proof. Otherwise, they should receive a warning to edit their post and if the trend continues, they should be penalized.

an israeli's evaluation of ariel sharon's career
Hudson Jones replied to bud's topic in The Rest of the World
A good film. Reminded me of Fog of War. It was candid and honest. On occasion it is very critical of Israel's actions. It also questions current policies very strongly. The future for their country from the point of view of these insiders is bleak and pessimistic. -
This may be true for Albertans, but not true for the rest of Canada and the world. Paying 10% of Alberta's revenue is not worth the many negatives of the dirtiest oil around.
-
I love how some people go up to bat for these polluting corporations even though they have 0 to gain and a lot to lose. It's like they don't understand that it doesn't matter if the oil is being taken out of Canada or Mozambique, they will never see any financial gain from this company. Meanwhile, we're polluting our fresh water, land, killing wildlife while contributing to the negative effects on the environment. Is this how we should show love to the future generations? Here you go, son, daughter, nephew, niece and every child who will be living in the aftermath of what we're responsible for.

"That was U lot"? What does that mean? I want the Canadian government to support democracy and democratically elected governments. Morsi was elected democratically and anyone who supports democracy should support the process. If Morsi committed human rights violations, then I do not want the Canadian government to support him. This is pretty much like how I feel about Israel. I respect that the Israeli government was democratically elected, but I do not support their human rights violations.
