  1. Israel goes against international law, its own agreements with the U.S. and the Fab 4 and begins settlements just days before talks are supposed to start and you have the nerve to blame this on the Palestinians? Like what? For Arafat and the PLO to accept the state of Israel? Oh wait, they did that. To sign the Oslo accord? Oh wait, they did that. Though, I wouldn't really call that productive. Maybe they could do something "productive" like Israel and start building illegal settlements that undermine any process in negotiations.
  2. It still baffles me how so many Americans have turned on him the way they have instead of turning on their government for having this secretive program.
  3. Hello Selective. Just a reminder for the next time you throw your arms up when HRW makes a comment about Israel or U.S.
  4. How many Afghani civilians have been killed by U.S. and its allies? How many in Iraq? How many have been killed by Israel in Gaza? Shrugging off deaths of civilians by using "collateral damage" as the excuse doesn't change the fact that civilians are killed and that deaths could be avoided by not dropping bombs on them or shooting missiles into buildings. Killing by bombs and missiles from airplanes, helicopters and tanks and then saying we regret their deaths doesn't make us any more civilized and moral.
  5. What? Are you trying to deny facts? How do you expect anyone to take you seriously? There are around 3 million Afghani refugees living in the surrounding countries and 1 million refugees inside Afghanistan.
  6. Are you equating Israel's behaviour to China, Russia, Iran and even North Korea? Name one country today, in the West, who is occupying and violating the rights of another people for over decades? Can you believe that Israel is actually debating to confiscate land from 40,000 Bedouins in the occupied territories and then resettling them somewhere else?
  7. It's a re-occurring method of taking attention away from Israel. Also, Canada and U.S. do not support Syria. Neither politically or financially. So we have very little control over what happens there. We (our governments) also condemn and do not support all the atrocious acts by the Syrian government, while staying quiet while Israel continuously breaks international law.
  8. "But no mess was made" I don't think you understand the situation in Afghanistan beyond the foxnews talking points. The International Rescue Committee calculated that there are nearly 3 million Afghan refugees, outside and 1 million internal refugees since the U.S. invasion. This is all due to U.S. attack on Afghanistan. U.S. has destroyed the society.
  9. Iraq was absolutely a mistake. The Iraq war was a product of pressure and influence of the neo-cons, who not only wanted U.S. to do Israel's dirty work but they also had financial interest like the oil, military spending and construction (KBR). I think the problem with Afghanistan was U.S' arrogance and bad planning. They thought they could go in there and get results without carefully looking at the possible consequences and without showing respect to the locals. This is why there was such a resistance to cooperate from Taliban and numerous other groups and tribes.
  10. All I said was that if someone comes and crashes a party and makes a mess, they should be held responsible to clean the mess. That said, the war, from the very beginning was a failure. Have a look at the original post in this thread and understand what I'm talking about.
  11. They wanted the Taliban to surrender Bin Laden and the Taliban did not. They attacked the Taliban and tried to remove it from power and they failed. Not only that, but Al Qaeda is alive and well in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria. Al Qaeda does not need airplanes, tanks and helicopters. They can operate from a single room. Unleashing a military, as it has been demonstrated, does nothing. Once this failure started to be realized, the U.S. tried to portray themselves as the savior of the Afghani people, where they will bring them schools, freedom to vote, cell phones and freedom fries. Besides a couple of schools in Kabul, the rest of Afghanistan has never really been under the control of U.S. The U.S. failed in Afghanistan. The sooner you admit this reality to yourself, the easier it would be to make sense of it all and for you to stop advocating failure.
  12. I am insisting that all of this has been a mistake. Deciding to go into Afghanistan to get rid of the Taliban and any other tribes who didn't want to be the yes-man to the U.S. and was unwelcoming of the occupier was a mistake. The gameplan was a failure from the start. Nothing was achieved. Oh yes: A few schools were built in Kabul. Is that worth the $600 billion spent, thousands of American and Afghani lives wasted and the destruction the war has left behind? Of course not. When will the war supporters learn that these adventures don't work? How many times should these mistakes be made until people realize that change cannot happen by military force? How many more failures before these people stop supporting the military industrial complex and their prostitutes (the politicians) that continue to push for these wars? Change comes in time and it comes from within. You want proof? Look at China. How about you look at Vietnam? How about Myanmar? Through dialogue and the advocating of human rights, those countries have changed and are changing from within and without the meddling from the outsiders. You want proof that it doesn't work? Look at Iraq. Look at Afghanistan. Look at Libya. Look at pretty much any country where the U.S. has attacked.
  13. No. You are wrong. This is the first time EU has applied sanctions on the illegal Jewish settlements. You can keep repeating otherwise, but unless you show proof that these sanctions are nothing new and they have been done in the past, you're just being Rue.
  14. Oh shush. Stop trying to give me lessons in honesty. You of all people. I actually didn't know the exact figure and I did think it was trillions. After looking it up, I saw that it was 600 billion so I corrected myself. If you think I have shared misinformation in other threads, share them. I do my best to never purposely share misinformation. Back to the point, which still stands. A LOT of money has been spent on a mission which has become a failure in many different levels.
  15. You're right. Not that I was trying to b.s. Billions is correct. Over 600 billion spent on Afghanistan. The point is still made. Don't become such a small human by calling them my buddies. I have never condoned anything the Taliban has done. Criticizing U.S.' action does not mean that I support the Taliban. Don't be such a simpleton. I suggest that you avoid using pity debating skills and stop trying to defame people with b.s. accusations.
  16. It's our job only to ruin it and make it worse. The U.S. brought education to girls in Kabul. What will happen once the U.S. has left and the Taliban comes back to power? Trillions wasted. Thousands killed. Billions made by the military industrial complex and the Taliban is coming back to power. So unless you're part of the military industrial complex or the Taliban, I don't know why you think the Afghanistan adventure to be a success
  17. You pasted from urban dictionary because you couldn't find a proper translation to support your B.S. So you went to 'urban dictionary'. Zionism has shown to be an ugly ideology just like Salafism has shown to be. They both try to achieve their selfish goal by any means, including violating other people's rights.
  18. Germany distances itself from the "controversial European Union guidelines" banning cooperation with Israeli entities beyond the Green Line, a foreign policy spokesman in the Bundestag announced on Friday. In a statement issued by MP Philipp Missfedler, the Bundestag spokesman for German chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party and its coalition partner the Bavarian Christian Social Union, he stated the guidelines are “pure ideology and symbolic politics” and will not contribute to finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Israeli lobby is quite strong in Germany. With Germany's past treatment of Jews, criticism of Israel is right away turned into holocaust shaming. Here is an example: Jewish organizations such as the Wiesenthal Center and the prominent German-Jewish journalist Henryk M.Broder declared the product labeling measure to be a de-facto boycott of Israeli merchandise, which recalls the Hitler movement’s boycott of Jewish businesses. Link
  19. Just because they've talked about it, it doesn't mean that the policy was official. The EU has not banned goods from the settlements until now, when the policy was put forward. I don't know why you continuously battle against the truth. I'd engage in a discussion with you, but when you're unable to get the basics correct and you start out every post with a statement that is not the truth, you make it difficult to have a discussion with you.
  20. That's B.S. Jews live in the U.S. and Canada and European countries, Turkey, Iran and other countries and they're doing fantastically well. But whatever, I've said this before; Even though the way Israel was established violated the rights of hundreds of thousands of people, I accept the State of Israel within the internationally recognized borders. What I do not accept are the settlements, the annexation and the shitty treatment of Palestinians, which all violate international law. Zionism has brought misery to many people. It was Zionism that destroyed over 500 Palestinian villages in what is now Israel. It was Zionism that killed and drove out hundreds of thousands of Palestinians out of what is now Israel. It's Zionism that drives the government of Israel to continue to steal more land and to prevent a Palestinian State from forming. More recently, it's Zionism that wants to drive out over 1000 Bedouins from their homes in the West Bank. An ideology that is okay with committing crimes for the sake of having a Jewish only country with no distinct border is something a good person would not accept.
  21. The only winner in these wars are the military industrial complex and construction companies like KBR which count on wars, conflicts and tension between countries to reach their only goal; make money. Oh and the politician who work as lobbyists for the war machine, They make a few bucks as well.
  22. I sure did and this is also part of the article. I hope you didn't skip this: A Tampa Bay Times analysis of nearly 200 cases — the first to examine the role of race in "stand your ground" — found that people who killed a black person walked free 73 percent of the time, while those who killed a white person went free 59 percent of the time. "I don't think judges or prosecutors or whoever works in the field of criminal justice is consciously saying black life is worth less than that of other ethnicities,'' said Kareem Jordan, a criminologist at the University of Central Florida. "But at the end of the day, it could be something that's subconscious going on if you look at how the media depicts black life.'' Here is more of what you didn't paste: The analysis, however, is supported by numerous studies showing disparities in the way whites and blacks are treated by the criminal justice system. Studies have found that all-white juries are more likely to convict black defendants. Someone who murders a white person is more likely to get the death penalty than someone who kills a black person. Did you read that? Adora Obi Nweze, state president of the NAACP, said she was not surprised that people claiming "stand your ground'' escaped penalty more often when the victim was black. But she sharply questioned whether "stand your ground'' really helps black defendants. "It's very difficult to isolate the data on one law,'' she said, "when we have so many laws where blacks are disproportionately not released, not given the kind of equity you want in justice." So yeah, U.S. has a racism problem and this is shown by facts, such as the numerous studies which show the disparities in the way blacks and whites are treated by the criminal justice system.
  23. Thank you for your 'urban dictionary' copy and paste. To me, Zionism in general is an ideology that tries to achieve its goals by any means, including violating other people's human rights. To me, Zionism is not Judaism and I do not use the word Zionist as a substitute for the word "Jew". Jews come with many different views and ideologies. Some of the leading activists against Zionism and Israel's colonialism and occupation are Jews.
  24. Are you upset that I don't show respect to people who condone racism and do not respect human rights? If you feel insulted, then stop supporting Zionism.
