Carrying guns is a God given right for Canadians, but it’s just not recognized in our Charter?

They were “inspired by God”? I thought you said rights came from God. But it’s just people giving the rights now? If you would have said “people were inspired by God to give us our right” I would agree. When you say “God gave us our rights”, do you see how that is a significantly different claim? You believe Pierre Trudeau was inspired by God to give Canadians their rights?

Clearly he doesn’t. Hence it’s incompatible with Canadian rights. I thought you said rights were God-given earlier? But now you say only some of the rights are God-given. Colour me confused.

You say God doesn’t like gay rights. Another says God would want gay rights. Do you think that everyone agrees on what the bible says about our rights? How does one tell who is correct when there is disagreement among believers?

I’ve read it’s a combination of things…. Some panic buying…. Brexit shrinking the labour pool by a huge amount…. And COVID issues. How much of each, I have no idea.

These ideas came from people. Where did they get them? You’d have to ask them. I questioned how God granted us rights in Canada. I didn’t question God. Where did I say it wasn’t influenced by Christian beliefs??? @Yzermandius19 said that the rights come from God. He didn’t say that the rights come from people who took some ideas from the bible. I would have agreed with him.

So who decides which rights God wants us to have? Did God want us to have the right to practice any religion we want? “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” Does that sound compatible with religious freedom?

Gay folks have a right in Canada to get married. This is enshrined in our Charter Rights. Did God intend that to be a right for Canadians?

The poster is claiming our legal rights are handed down to us from the Christian God. Is asking questions about how that came to be “making fun”? How many of the 10 Commandments made it into the Canadian constitution? Let’s just take the first one…. No gods before Me. That is antithetical to Canadian rights.
