To What Extent Do You Support Abortion?

I now support retroactive abortion. As some of your Mom's would if they saw your posts? -
Canada Must Exit Climate Agreement Immediately
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, I'll take the side of my old foreman who did 2 1/2 tours on the riverboats then deserted bringing his best friend home to bury in Newfoundland. And the client who did a tour loaned to the US army trying to save his pension up to get a motorized wheelchair. Or even my son who served in uniform slinging burgers at Wendys and not bitching about his taxes. None of whom think they're "speshull"- 386 replies

Why don't you two join a Bible thumping forum instead of trying to turn this one into one? Or at least render unto Caesar the subjects that are in Caesar's domain.

Yes, you seem to admire everything about the Glorious Old South. I apologize for saying you'd like us all to go back to 1953. It's 1853... I stand corrected. Sorry I have to go visit my VietNam deserter buddy and make sure he took the free meds for his cancer treatment. It might say "Paid for by Dougie93's personal tax dollars" on the label.- 386 replies

Which is exactly Communism that you profess to hate. But worry not, in the free USA the Supreme Court (supreme=comes with dollop of white whipped cream on top) ruled the government can't tell Energy companies what enviro rules to follow. Corporations have civil rights, more than many citizens do. And then you quote more shit out of the Bible as if it has to do with anything. Take your meds today? You're not even making sense.

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No kidding, the Russian Trolls have convinced the Trumptards they're on the same side and taken over the forum. And they brag how Christian they are by quoting only the Old Testament and so many believe them. Really, alcohol is bad because that's why Jesus turned the wine into water didn't he? The "Prime Minister" of Canada is in the Ukraine for Canada Day
herbie replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But then again I know you'd attack him for showing Canada supports Ukraine's struggle for actual freedom if he was. -

Address any issue the ancient old fart attitude extends to it. As does the Trumpist/populist/alt-right rhetoric and Can'tservative attitude toward any change at all. Progress = BAD (really means) I can't/won't accept the slightest change at all The Elite (really means) anyone who graduated high school or makes more than me Mainstream Media (really means) any media that has a paid Editor that checks facts and sources and hires accredited (see Elite) reporters Inflation (really means) the Big Mac you're eating between puffs of your $20 dollar pack cigarette went up a dime you might have to pass on a smoke every week. Or walk to the corner store to buy them instead of taking the F350 4x4 w duallies Left (really means) anything I don't like Freedom (really means) from minor inconvenience or consequences of my choices as long as that other guy doesn't get any say Green = Bad (really means) if I still knew how to do an oil change and could dump the old oil in the alley, toss the tires in the gully and catch a trailer load of cod to fertilize the garden cuz they're too bony and there's not that much meat anyways.- 386 replies

Canada Must Exit Climate Agreement Immediately
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We do, but in the Lower Mainland there's only 1 left. For once I agree with you as I grew up in Burnaby when every other kid had a parent directly involved with a refinery. The homeowners whined that they didn't like the stinky smelly sometimes, and simple economics meant it was cheaper to shut them down, bring gasoiine down the pipe instead of oil and use refinery stuff from Washington State. And we DID own a goodly chunk of oil production, refining and sales but as it benefited everyone it was communism and had to be privatized, as shareholders are far more important than citizens. At the same time we had a province that screamed for world price for its oil so they got just that, followed by Free Trade making it illegal to sell it to ourselves cheaper than anyone else. Now it's too late to go back, so we're reaping all those benefits. Enjoy.- 386 replies

Ah, Dougie I have to point out to you and all Americans again there is no American left. And to everyone else a couple point made really really simple: Have you ever sat through a job interview and wondered in the back of your mind that they might not hire you because you're "white" or your "English is too good"? That's what white privilege is in a nutshell. And the red ensign IS beyond any argument a symbol of colonialism, WE Canadians didn't pick it, we just kind of inherited it and used it before we got our shit together and made our own well over 57 years ago. I'm an old fart FFS but even mentioning red ensigns or metric or multiculturalism makes you sound like an ancient old 'get off my lawn' crank!

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
No shit! And some people would puff out their chests and fly it proudly. I mean we start out trying to point out accepting something is not promoting it, and now we're talking about bloody rainbow flags - true the colours are coming out. We're talking 1953 PTA/Church Lady ban sex education in schools remnants- 479 replies

How do you even talk to people who insist a $1.00/L increase is because of the 2c/L carbon tax increase? Or that when you stake 100% of your oil & gas on Russia and the shut it off SNAP! it proves that the 40% remaining renewable supply already there is a total failure? Like for FFS use your brain and see what's right there in front of your face.- 386 replies

100% of the thing from Day One. Nobody ever forced them to wear a mask or get vaxxed, they want the freedom to avoid the consequences of their own personal decisions.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Oh FFS the same anti arguments over and over! You don't use a BEV to go thousands and thousands of miles. You use it to go from home in Langley to work in Vancouver. You still have your minivan if you want to go long distance, no one's making you sell it. Are you all so butt poor you only have ONE car? Then fly or take a train if you want to go from Vancouver to Calgary. -
You know what? The NDP doesn't actually give shit. They know you guys are never gonna vote for them in a million years so why would they care? In the meantime the rest of us can acknowledge how when most people disagreed, Horgan cancelled his little project. They can look at the new clinic that opened and hospital under construction here, and enough doctors to staff them. After decades of Liberal neglect. They can remember the road and bridge tolls they promised to get rid of and did, the ICBC reductions and rebates. The goddam dam they didn't stop cuz it would've cost so many jobs and we're gonna need it. Didn't care their Greenie buddies were so far green they opposed it and the righties bawling how they don't want electric cars They'll remember opposing the pipeline through our lake, rivers and fishing grounds and tankers on the coast. Be prepared to be surprised, the only alternative is a recycled Socred.

Nobody should need to tell you why FFS. I'm sure someone will eventually tell you how hospitals and buildings and staffing works.

Oh Jeez, same old same old. While turning your backs on the limitation of fossil fuel. No worry, now it's no longer necessary to stop peeing in the pool because Uncle Sam can legally start peeing in the pool again.- 386 replies

Too bad! But at 63 after 2 bouts with cancer he doesn't want to commit to what would amount to another 6 years of politics. He will be hard to replace.
