Trump Fires Labour Dept Stats Leader
BeaverFever replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Obviously you know nothing about this topic so just making some shit up Trump fired HER because the statistics show his wreckless policies are tanking the economy There’s no evolution to support any of these claims and it would be virtually impossible for anyone to do that. Try thinking about these things before you mindlessly repeat them -
I have no idea whether she’s actually republican or not Personally I don’t think she’s super hot, she’s just ok by celebrity standards. I don’t think the AE ads were controversial and none of the progressive people I know do either either so I wonder if the supposed “woke backlash” is being overblown and overhyped by the media and by republicans .

So what’s your point? You looked it up also but it’s only bad when someone else does it? -

As if anyone needed more evidence of Trump’s authoritarianism. He doesn’t just admire autocrats like Viktor Orban he celebrates them . -

1) The fact that certain vaccines contain mercury and always have since the 1930s is not news and is not a secret 2 ) The ingredient used in vaccines is thimerosal, which contains ethylmercury, not methylmercury (the kind associated with fish and neurotoxicity). Ethylmercury is processed and excreted from the body much more quickly. 3) There are no routine childhood vaccines which contain any type of mercury -
I didn’t say that either. But the two points I will keep hitting home on 1) Republicans have made it their brand to suggest dozens of conspiracies about the Clintons, Obamas, Bides, the 2020 election and more based on far flimsier and much more circumstantial connections so it’s hilarious that when the show is on the other foot they’re once again taking the “innocent until proven guilty, how dare you suggest someone has committed wronging if they haven’t been convicted” argument And I will add that Republicans ESPECIALLY tried to associate Bill Clinton with Epstein and stoked all kinds of democrat child trafficking conspiracies for the past 20 years even though Bill’s connections to Epstein are a minuscule fraction of Trump’s So as Ive said before live by the sword, die by the sword, reap what you sow, lie in the bed yo made, take a dose of your own medicine, etc 2) The Trump administration’s SUDDEN decision not to release the Epstein file AFTER Trump is briefed on how much his name appears in them is worthy of discussion given his long and close ties to Epstein and Epstein’s vision Especially given the latest news that the Epstein prison video from the night of his death which the administration claimed was “raw and unedited” was in fact found to be an edited screen grab and has a full minute of video cut out, which they keep changing the explanation on

Those are just politicians playing games, especially in Alberta. The overwhelming majority of their constituents don’t want separation The US has it worse and they have more of it. Again USA has it far worse. Nonsense. The displays of vulgarity, throwing rocks at politicians, chasing them and their families down the street, and proudly posting it on social media are championed right far righr peoples party diagolon conspiracy nutjobs. You only see what you want to see. Umm ok, sure. Maybe.

No, look how united Canadians are right now. Stephen Harper is one if Carney’s advisers. Poilievre is propping up Liberals in parliament. Canadians aren’t rioting in the streets or sacking the Capitol like Americans are. Quebec separatism is all but dead and Alberta separatism is just American batshit that’s flowed north to the crazy fringe.

1) Of course Trump is going to lie to protect himself he lies about everything. The author who originally put the story out there before Trump did was repeating hearsay so doesn’t corroborate anything. Nobody can validate this claim. 2) Nobody is disputing that Trump and Epstein eventually had a falling out after 15+ years of friendship. There’s no evidence that it was because of “stealing staff”. We know they also had a real estate dispute in those final months of friendship as well. I am not picking and choosing anything. I am not stating speculation as fact, YOU ARE.
-
That is not a proven fact that is alleged by one author who had the story fed to him by someone at mar-a-lago. You’re picking and choose what hearsay and rumours you want to believe. And at any rate maybe if true he was just getting mad at a fellow pedo for cutting his grass without permission See how that works?

But Bill Clinton bumped into the attorney general at an airport and had a chat with her which “proves” that Hillary’s email “scandal” was real and the investigation into her was sabotaged. Right? 1) I like that Trump is finally admitting to having a connection with Giuffre 2) About 3 weeks after her sudden and convenient suicide Trump learns what exactly is said about him and long close friend in the Epstein files. There’s a lot of coincidences and conveniences in the Trump -Epstein saga and sure sometimes life is just like that. But given how Republicans don’t believe in coincidences and conveniences when they suggest wrongdoing by a Democrat I don’t see why anyone should be expected to show Republicans the courtesy especially when this story has so many of them.

Americans are far more divided than Canadians are. On any issue. not only is there extreme partisan polarization and the fact that there 2 parties no longer exist for any purpose other than opposing and obstructing the other party, not only are there 50 different states with 50 different agendas, In the USA each and every elected politician including the President, the 538 members of congress, all the thousands of state and an absurd number of mundane municipal official like judges, prosecutors, water commissioners, transit commissioners, county clerk etc who should not be political at all.,,,they’re all self-serving free agents each pushing their own agenda and everything they do is transactional To your second point on why Americans aren’t generally upset at 51st state: I’ll point out that USA is extremely self-centred and chauvinistic. I live in Florida for 5 years 1997-2002 and I you NEVER saw any news outlet mention Canada in any meaningful way much less have a major Canadian political figure on as a guest. I am not exaggerating when I say I can count on one hand all the times in those 5 years the US MSM did a story that featured Canada in any meaningful way. Nowadays the American MSM outlets do more stories about Canada in one week than they did in those entire 5 years. 2025 might the first time in American history anyone in US MSM news or pop culture has ever said “Canada is our closest trading partner and ally” and they’re saying it all the time now. And I have to tell you when I first went to USA I thought USA was where it’s at and Canada was boring and lame. But I came back with a much different view thats much more anti-American and pro-Canadian. One of the things that really pissed me off wasn’t so much the American ignorance about Canada, that was expected. It was the absolute indifference and the arrogant attitude. Worse than having a head full of wrong ideas about Canada, they had absolutely zero thoughts about Canada one way or the other, barely aware of its existence and when you’d share even a small bit of information to help fill that void the’d just shrug it away as not worth knowing and they’d remember nothing. I remember saying that in some ways the indifference was almost worse than if they hated Canada and had a long list of things they knew about our country and despised. All the while they’re endlessly wind-bagging about how USA is #1 at every human endeavour even when that was not the case. The above said Trump’s 51st state comments dis receive quite a bit of coverage in US MSM and he did get some direct criticism of it along with his Greenland and Panama comments but and DOGE and ICE and tariffs and Epstein and a thousand other domestic controversies this is lower on the priority list

I already pointed out over and over that I did. You just don’t like what those facts might imply so you want the facts silenced. Doesn’t matter that he himself wasn’t republican he had an army of republicans falling all over themselves giving him a sweetheart deal and covering it up. And yes the Republican lawyers representing him are “his” lawyers by any common understanding of the English language As I have already described to you repeatedly. Ken Starr served in Reagan and Bush Sr administrations and led the witch hunt against Bill Clinton that unearthed the Lewinsky affair (but none of the high crimes Republicans had been alleging) which he published in unnecessarily graphic detail simply to humiliate the president and score political points. Jay Lefkowiz Epstein’s lead attorney served in the administrations of both Bush presidents and a key member of the right wing Federalist Society, a conservative legal network. I challenge you to find one example where either represented a prominent democrat on a high profile issue. Dershowitz may not be a card carrying republican but he is best known for representing republicans including Trump’s impeachment and being a regular controller to fox news where he spoke out against “the left” and the Mueller probe. *face palm* You’re getting really desperate As I already explained to you, I outlined the FACTS. Then separately I provided what those facts might mean, making clear what is fact and what is fact and what is subjective by using words like “assuming that”. Thats how arguments work and how the English language works You are falsely accusing me of trying to misrepresent my assumptions as facts when clearly I dod not and hilariously that what you MAGA trolls do here all day every day with your accusations about Hunter Biden , stolen election, and now this ridiculous Obama coup claim. You’re basically saying trump your side is allowed to substitute your opinion speculation as fact but others aren’t allowed to report the facts and then suggest what those facts *might* mean. As above what is your argument here, nobody is allowed to ever suggest a republican might have something wrong because that is not “a fact?” I am allowed to tell you the facts and then tell you what I think those facts might suggest and if you weren’t trying desperately to be such an intellectually dishonest troll you would admit that Correct he was labour secretary but still the Epstein controversy of the time was so big and so close to Trump it’s still very convenient that they just happened to find new evidence against Epstein right when it was needed to address the controversy. “We never thought to check his other house before!” No conflation. Arguments are based on facts and then conclusions based on those facts. I did not conflate the two. For example I did mot for say “Its a fact Trump killed Epstein” which would be a MAGA-style conflation. When people use words like “I assume” by definition they are separating fact from conclusion so stop being so dishonest

Harper says Carney team sought his trade advice, suggests looking outside U.S. OTTAWA — Former prime minister Stephen Harper said Monday he's urging Ottawa to find new trading partners outside the United States. "I think it's fair to say I'm probably the most pro-American prime minister in Canadian history," Harper told Canadian and American legislators gathered for the annual Midwestern Legislative Conference meeting in Saskatoon. "We've got to get something short-term worked out with the Trump administration. But this really is a wake-up call for this country to truly diversify its trade export markets. …. Harper said that anyone who had asked for his trade advice a year ago would have been urged to deepen economic and security ties with Canada's southern neighbour. "However, when the government did actually ask me a few weeks ago, my advice was the opposite," he said. Harper said that while Washington is using a failed economic policy of pursuing economic growth through tariffs, the U.S. still needs trading partners. "We just cannot be in a position in the future where we can be threatened in this way and not have that leverage," he said. "The current government does, you know, get it better than their predecessors." ….. https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/harper-says-carney-team-sought-191922663.html

I clearly stated facts nothing I stated was a conspiracy rambling. If you take issue that used adverbs like “conveniently” to describe things that actually happened and happened to be politically convenient for certain people thats your problem because those are still facts Epstein’s lawyers were prominent and powerful politically active republicans. Their careers were elevated by Trump afterwards included one who had been named as a perpetrator. It is entirely relevant to mote that Republicans arranged this sweetheart deal and kept it secret, elevated the careers of the people involved in the deal and are now trying to prevent the files from being released. What exactly is not factual? You just don’t like the facts that so many republicans were involved in the deal and the secrecy You don’t like that Im implying republicans engaged impropriety by stating the facts but the facts don’t care about your feelings For example I didn’t say Republicans killed Epstein that would be an unproven accusation. I said he conveniently died under suspicious circumstances while in Trump custody, that’s factual statement whether you’re butthurt by it or not No, I gave factual information about what happened and called out all the very factual coincidences and conveniences to the Republicans involved and leave it up to the reader to decide. You don’t like that because the facts make republicans look bad. I also pointed out the obvious hypocrisy of Republicans routinely calling out coincidences and conveniences as “UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE!!!! of all their bullshit conspiracies (Hunter Biden, stolen election, etc etc) but when the shoe is on the other foot about Republicans you don’t want anyone to even point out the FACT that those coincidences and conveniences even exist It was terribly convenient how after a decade and with no active ongoing investigation Acosta was suddenly able to find evidence for new charges right after his secret plea deal came to light and stirred controversy. Again the highly convenient timing and the supposed coincidence of it all is a fact and is right to call it out And I did not say it’s a fact that they sat on it I clearly said that’s my personal conclusion based on the facts Epstein lived in New York it’s pretty absurd that they never thought to look there for evidence during the original investigation I am presenting the facts, which include calling out how convenient the death was for certain people and all of the other coincidences and conveniences
