Kind of reminds me of John Lennon's Imagine in that its power lies in the visceral. The message gets silly when you stop to think about it. It's about the feels over rationality. For example the bit about the freedom to control your body. For self defence maybe. Is he talking in favour of conceal/carry? We know he's not. He's talking about wanting freedom to end other life. A real liberty-loving, libertarian would have trouble applying the non-aggression principle there. The lyric is irrational, simplistic, self-serving, teenage thinking that isn't actually thinking at all. It's a kid saying 'Ah do what ah want." Oh, and the attack at the end where he attempts to mimic what he thinks might oppose his kiddy-think is just stupid. That isn't the Conservative message.

Where did you get the idea religion is a necessary component of conservativism or vice versa ? I'm agnostic. I know an atheist conservative. For that matter, did Feuer ask where Epps got the idea to urge people to go into the Capitol in the first place? Did it occur to Epps out of the blue? Did someone else give Epps the idea? If so, who? The whole purpose of the January 6 Committee is to figure out what caused the events of the 6th. Epps was calling for people to go into the Capitol the evening before. Wouldn’t it be newsworthy to know where Epps got the idea, and why he was so doggedly fixated on that particular mission? The very fact that these questions weren’t asked indicates that this is one of the sloppiest and most transparent cover-up jobs in New York Times history—a total Feuer job!

If Eps had any connection to Trump you and yours would be all over him frothing at the mouth to get him - not speaking up for him. There's video of him organizing and participating outside the building on Jan. 6. This is another reason why Nancy didn't allow anybody on her fake committee who might call the wrong witness and seriously cross examine him. You and yours would have had to do even more major scrambling and serious ignoring and 'nothing to see here' nonsense to pretend the guy wasn't an obvious plant.
