I'd go with Trudeau, because he's got a bigger chance of losing sooner rather than later, and if he gets to his second re-election bid, it will occur before Trump leaves office after his second term. I expect both of them to get re-elected though.

Universal Health Care, does not the Greatest Canadian make. Eskimo Communists disagree because they love their nanny welfare gulag and overrate it to a religious degree, but that is to be expected. If you want to go around looking for things to be offended by, that isn't my problem. /shrugs

People having health cards does not make someone the greatest Canadian, except to George Stroumboulopoulos and other Eskimo Communists huffing the CBC paint.

My money is on Joe Biden coasting to victory, by being the only viable centrist candidate in the field, while the far-left is too divided, until after his nomination is a forgone conclusion. Basically he wins the Democratic nomination in 2020, the same way that Romney won the Republican nomination in 2012, only with extra help from the superdelegates. Trump will then easily handle Biden in 2020. Just like Reagan easily handled Mondale in 1984. Just like Clinton easily handled Dole in 1996. Just like Bush easily handled Kerry in 2004. Just like Obama easily handled Romney in 2012.

That's because way too many of the people voting were Eskimo Communists, and the CBC loves to champion the Nanny Socialist Welfare Gulag as the thing that makes Canada so great, so naturally ol' Tommy Douglas was their boy.

Biggest news story of the day, but the media would rather talk about Cohen and North Korea instead. Trump Political Witch Hunt always leads, who knew? -

I could see Paul Maurice getting on his nerves, sounds plausible to me, but goal scorers are inherently streaky, so could just be an extended slump. Never know when he might pop off for five goals in a game, like he did earlier this year, he's probably just gripping the stick too hard is all, long term I wouldn't be too worried about it. -

I said he was a better pure shooter than Matthews, which might still be true even with the slump, but Matthews ain't even that far behind in that metric, if he's even behind at all. I did note at the time, that picking between Matthews and Laine's shot, is obvious hair splitting. Matthews has a much better nose for the net, is the better and more well rounded goal scorer, is playing a far more important position, and he's just a better player in general. Ovechkin still the top shooter in the league though, clearly jumped the gun by saying otherwise. -

America can afford to take the hit that comes with tariffs, retaliating pygmies, not so much. Hence Trump's penchant for using them as an outrageous opening offer, to eventually get the pygmies who can't afford to tariff American products to lower their tariffs against the US in the long run. Usually the strategy just backfires, but Trump has actually been getting some results from using this strategy, much to my surprise.
-
Trump's economic nationalism does work when the other side caves and negotiates a deal to lower tariffs on the US. In the meantime, it doesn't work, and backfires on the US, but the US is better able to weather any trade war they start than anyone they could start a trade war with, and thus Trump is using tariffs as an outrageous opening offer and it's getting people to the negotiating table.

Well that may be your stance now, but keep your eyes open, and you might notice the dynamic I describe. Feel free to be skeptical, I'm just offering you my honest assessment of the situation as I've observed to this point. I've only been here for a short time, so perhaps it's a small sample size that is influencing my opinion, I doubt that very much, same as you, and I'm open to the possibility that I could be mistaken.
-
See I wouldn't want you suspended for that, that's lame. I don't see any need to ban taxme, that's just someone else you disagree with who want silenced, because you are pissed that people respond to their posts, and find them more interesting than yours on occasion. You just want to control the conversation, and anytime it doesn't go the way you want it to, you claim people are breaking the rules and should be banned.

It's your prerogative to find us boring and ignore our posts, go ahead, no skin off our back. I only take issue with you wanting us to be censored because you find us to be boring and off-topic, because of your lack of historical perspective. I for one don't want to censor you, or anyone else on this forum, aside from actual spam bots.
-
Not as thick skinned as me and Dougie, hence why we don't call for anyone to be censored around here, while you do. We stay on topic, you just lack the historical perspective to understand that we are being on topic, that is the issue, not us going off-topic. We are not preventing anyone from posting what they want, just by posting what we want. I understand your self-rationalization for hating on me and Dougie, I simply think that those self-rationalizations have zero basis in reality, you are a poor judge of character.
-
Because he can't handle being disagreed with, so he stormed off, you can't handle being disagreed with, so you cry for us to be banned, me and Dougie can handle it, that's the difference. We have thick skin, and you whiners are very thin skinned, it has little to do with ideology and everything to do with being able to take what we can dish out, while the other side has a glass jaw.
