  1. Democrats backed off impeachment, it's not Trump who is scared wishful thinkers, it's the Democrats chickening out. If the evidence against Trump was as rock solid as the Trump Haters on this forum claim, the Dems never would have let it go, y'all were wrong, just admit it already, enough of the moving goalposts. Trump owned the Dems again, that's the reality. Too bad the Dems weren't dumb enough to force impeachment anyway.
  2. Not going to happen, they did that with the Orange Wave in Quebec on the backs of Bloc and Liberal weakness. Quebec ain't voting NDP this time, they'd be lucky to win a seat in Quebec. The Bloc is back, and the Liberals ain't weak in Quebec either. There is zero chance of a 2011 repeat.
  3. Non-Western countries are more racist than Western countries, so I don't know what you're prattling about.
  4. Check, Check, Check. He trap me.
  5. https://www.moodysanalytics.com/-/media/article/2019/president-election-model.pdf According to Moody's, even under the best case scenario for the Democrats, where they get maximum turnout, they need to win Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Virginia to squeak out a win over Trump. If they lose even one of those states and don't go five for five in the key battleground states, they lose, and according to the models, all five of those swing states lean Republican unless the Dems get max turnout. Ohio and Florida are no longer swing states, according to their models. The Democrats are screwed.
  6. The Kurds can save themselves. No need for a white knight to save them.
  7. Your points fail to address my point, so I'm ignoring it. The parts that do address my point are what I am rebutting. You are engaging in wishful thinking that the voters will one day agree with you, but that's a pipe dream, you just don't want to hear it. There is no incentive for Conservatives to support lower immigration when many of their voters are immigrants that they need to bring in more of to increase their chances of winning elections, same goes for the Liberals, so it ain't changing. Your faith in the CPC, especially on immigration but also when it comes to the military, misguided. You need to get used to being in the political wilderness and abandon dreams of your ideas becoming mainstream in Canada anytime soon. Enough with the unfounded optimism, be real.
  8. Why is no one offering lower immigration, because it's not popular and they lose votes with immigrants. People might agree with the vague notion, but when they get the details, they sour on it, hence why the politicians aren't backing it.
  9. No we shouldn't we'll just make it worse, you overestimate the limits of what can be done with military power to solve humanitarian situations. It's the wrong tool for the job, you've got hammer but can't find a nail, and go around whacking shit anyway as if that will fix it. You want to "do something" for the sake of doing something, you don't seem to care how counter-productive "doing something" is when it comes to military intervention.
  10. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. “One of the great mistakes is to judge policies and programs by their intentions rather than their results.” - Milton Friedman What you call Great Moral Leaders are simply failures who are suckers for sob stories. Your "moral high ground" is worth less than nothing, it is detrimental to those who try to claim it. Besides, America fought in self defense, and that is far more moral cause than fighting a war of aggression for empire anyway. World Policeman for the fail, sprinkling the Humanitarian Pixie Dust on obviously counter-productive actions doesn't make them any more moral or any wiser.
  11. Britain pissed away their empire snorting Humanitarian Pixie Dust, and your plan is for America to follow suit. Yeah sure, they should get right on that. Britain shouldn't have stuck it's nose in where it didn't belong, fighting Germany did nothing for them, and cost them dearly. Fighting the Turks to protect the Kurds does nothing good for America either, and will cost them dearly.
  12. It would be even worse if America stuck their noses in where it doesn't belong. It would be worse if America stayed in Syria to protect the Kurds indefinitely. You want a worse outcome so you can virtue signal about your intentions, wake up. You aren't helping anyone by trying to shame Americans into giving their lives to protect the Kurds, you just misguidedly think you are.
  13. The troops are to defend their nations own interests, not the interests of the "vulnerable" all over the world. Policeman Of The World who are high on Humanitarian Pixie Dust for the fail. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and the military is not equipped to prevent all humanitarian disasters all over the world, nor should it be, because that backfires. Not sure why you think America picking sides between the Turks and Kurds is going to make things better, other than wishful thinking, but that would make the situation much worse and put American lives on the line for something that isn't in America's national interest, you're just going to get more people killed with your moral crusade plan.
  14. If y'all want to go fight for the Kurds, go ahead. Stop telling other people to do it for you when you refuse to go yourself, and then claim moral superiority.
  15. The more pathetic attitude is telling other people to put their lives on the line for a cause you refuse to fight for yourself. It's all good when other people's lives are on the line, then you can make reckless recommendations that get others killed with no personal consequences, and somehow think you have the moral high ground. Clown.
  16. No it's not. It's the Kurds job. Last time Turkey tried to screw with them, it didn't go well for Turkey. The Kurds can handle it themselves, no need for other countries people to die for the Kurds, and if they want to, nothing is stopping them from going to help the Kurds. Stop recommending putting other people's lives in danger for a cause you would never fight for yourself.
  17. Why is it America's job to protect the Kurds?
  18. Yeah, not sure how provincial control would stop immigrants from wanting to move to certain city regions. Not seeing any kind of government intervention that would effectively prevent that and many of the ineffective methods you propose are blatantly unconstitutional anyway. You can't stop it, the only way things change is if someone invents some technology that makes it more economically beneficial for immigrants to move to small towns instead, and that seems extremely unlikely to happen any time soon, if it even happens in our lifetime at all.
  19. Well there is even less support for unconstitutionally forcing people to settle somewhere and not allowing them to move, than there is for lower immigration levels, so good luck with that, you're going to need it. Your immigration position is simply a political non-starter, and the sooner you admit that to yourself and stop with the pie in the sky wishful thinking that Canadian attitudes will magically change one day, the better. You're in the political wilderness Zeitgeist, no matter how hard you dream of your immigration position eventually becoming mainstream, it just isn't going to happen as long as Canada exists. Even after the shotgun marriage of Confederation is ended, you still probably aren't going to get what you want on that tip, so get used to it.
  20. The Conservatives ain't going to lower immigration levels, even in such a backlash. A lot of immigrants vote Conservative, so why would they reduce immigration? They won't, just ask Harper. Wishful thinking is a helluva drug. The Conservatives are just Liberals in blue, quit lying to yourself.
  21. Non-sequitur. Just a parade of fallacies showing how much cognitive dissonance is controlling your thinking right now and the straws you need to reach for to lie to yourself and maintain your faulty worldview.
  22. No, we are pointing out where the ideas the many Canadian lefties push originated in America, there is a big difference. You need strawmen and deflections to prevent yourself from reaching the same conclusion.
  23. Being to the right of eyeball does not make someone right wing, nor does being to left of you make them slightly left of center. You are not the political center, stop fronting like you are.
  24. Deflecting from reality with jokes so you don't have to acknowledge that your faulty perception has been clearly disproven. You post in bad faith, that much is obvious.
  25. Canadian progressives are appropriating American progressive culture. Acting like Trudeau is right-wing is the kind of nonsense that only a far-lefty who thinks they are really in the center would claim.
