  1. LRT isn't going to revitalize anything. Billions saved for the win, f*ck LRT. I dance on it's grave.
  2. I'm high as giraffe pussy right now, 31 year old child ftw. Roy was a hot head jerk, sure, but he's also the greatest goalie of all time (or number two), so maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge based on their personality and little quicker to judge players based on their actual on ice skills, or you end up handing another team a couple of stanley cups to side with a guy whose personality you like more. You haven't won a cup since, the Curse of Patrick Roy still haunts the Habs to this day. Class acts are great and all, but winning is more important, just win baby. Thanks for embarrassing Roy unnecessarily just because you didn't like him, that worked out real well Montreal. People in Montreal might not have blamed Tremblay, but they should have, there was no good reason not to pull Roy, aside from the coach having a personal grudge against him, and it backfired spectacularly. I'm glad Tremblay was that stupid, it sure paid off for my team in spades. Gentleman Joe is my favorite Av, but I do love me some Foppa.
  3. Wrong. This is not just a market correction, unsustainable growth rates don't come back, they occur because the market hasn't been fully exploited using technology and human capital, once a nation closes that gap, the growth rates do not continue and settle in too a much lower growth rate. That is what happened in Japan, back when Japan wasn't that wealthy they had high growth rates, but once it caught it up to other well off nations, there was nowhere near as much room to expand, and after the market correction, those growth rates did not come back, and they aren't going to come back. You assuming China will continue those high growth rates forever, when those growth rates are based on starting so far behind, that is simply economic illiteracy. Once China catches up to a certain point, those growth rates are never coming back, so projecting these ridiculously high growth rates decades into the future, long after China will have surpassed that point, is the kind of foolish nonsense people were saying about Japan 40 years ago. China is not going to keep growing at the same rate it did in mid 2000's to the mid 2010's, just as Japan wasn't going to continue growing at the same rate it did in mid 1970's to mid 1980's. Current trends do not remain the same long into the future, the way the projections you are using to come to your conclusions assume they will for nearly 100 years which is just asinine. Do not put any stock into these outlandish claims that will never come to pass, if these kinds of projections could be trusted, Japan would have become the largest economy in the world long ago. Japan back then, like China now, was producing cheap manufactured goods for export to America, as the basis of it's economic growth, but once the Japanese people got wealthier they had to pay their workers more, which means other far less wealthy countries like China were able to produce those goods cheaper. That same thing that happened to Japan then, is happening to China now, and once that process is complete and new low wage manufacturing cheap goods producers comes along, which is inevitable and already happening, China's growth rates will take a dive just like Japan's before them and India will likely the biggest beneficiary. You will then no doubt claiming that India is going to surpass America, but the same thing will happen to India, that happened to Japan and China before it. So enough of the premature assuming that America is destined to be surpassed any time soon, that ain't going to happen. All that will happen is musical chairs with cheap manufacturing exporters, but the King stays the King, King Dollar will rule for some time to come.
  4. That growth is unsustainable. The math is far more complex than you think it is. Like I say, they did this back in 1980's with Japan and their high growth rates as being about to overtake America, how did that work out for them? Assuming China can maintain high growth rates until the 2050's is asinine, they can't even maintain them right now, that is never going to happen. Just because America will eventually be surpassed by some power some day does it mean it's right around the corner and it's going to be China. Assuming America is going to fall off any time soon is folly.
  5. Taking on the burden of weak link allies is not a strength, ask the Germans, they know.
  6. China and India are not going to take over. Having a higher population is not a guarantee of surpassing America, that's not how it works.
  7. Stand up goalies are far worse, that's why no one plays stand up anymore. Siding with Tremblay lulz, delusional Habs fans are jokes, thanks for Patty Roy you chumps, I appreciate two Stanley Cups you helped my Avs win, you suckers.
  8. You don't live in the swing states or swing districts, your opinion is irrelevant. What matters is what the swing states and swing district voters think, because he ain't getting removed from office, and impeachment only matters in regards to how it effects 2020, which is not good for the Democrats. Argus being appalled matters exactly zero.
  9. Democrats lack all sense of decency, integrity and honor. Whoop Dee Doo Basil.
  10. There is no smoking gun. There was more of a smoking gun for Clinton, and that backfired. You simply have Trump Derangement Syndrome if you think what Trump did was worse than Nixon or Clinton and therefore America will support it, they don't view it that way. Stop projecting how you view the situation on the American electorate, they don't think like you do, so stop assuming that they do.
  11. Well it is bad for them, not that bad, not as bad as testifying would be for them. It's a wash at best and limits risk when both of them do it, when it's only one side doing it, it's a slight win for the side not doing, but not a win that moves the needle in any way. Impeachment is boring, it's entirely partisan affair, and that goes both ways. Since it's the Democrats trying to remove a POTUS from office over nothing because of partisan reasons, the swing voters will punish the Democrats.
  12. There is no limit to how much a party can shoot itself in the foot trying to impeach a POTUS without a smoking gun. Keep shooting yourself in the foot, Demohacks, please do.
  13. That will just backfire on Republicans, as it did when they tried to impeach Clinton. Impeachment always backfires without a smoking gun.
  14. He thinks slavery is superior to flight to quality, when flight to quality never flows to the slavers. Slavery is not a strength, it is a crippling weakness, the Confederacy knows, but Moonlight Graham does not apparently. It is relatively easy for second or third worlders to pull themselves out of poverty with King Dollar propping them up, but another thing entirely to surpass America as the hegemon, don't be fooled by high growth rates of poor countries and assume they are destined to rule the world, pro tip.
  15. The projections assume current trends will continue into the future for an extended period of time, but they won't. Economic projections back in the 80's said that Japan would be the new Hegemon, how did that work out? All these claims of the Asians taking over and the US being doomed to be overtaken by them are nonsense. China's economy has already slowed down significantly, and the growth rates that if they continue for decades will see them surpassing the US are completely unsustainable just like they were in Japan. China already cannot maintain them, they are not ten feet tall, you simply lack perspective and are easily fooled by projections.
  16. Hard working slaves do not a Hegemon make. America became the hegemon by doing away with slavery, China employing a slavery based model of government central planning is a sign they will never surpass the US as long as that is the case. Slavery is not a strength, I don't know why you seem to think that it is, it actually holds the Chinese back significantly.
  17. The trial in the Senate will not be interesting at all, the outcome is a foregone conclusion, and the evidence presented there is going to help Trump, not hurt him. If you are hoping that impeachment would hurt Trump, that was wishful thinking.
  18. No it wouldn't. Right now the Dems are demanding they show anyway, saying we'll show if they do, changes the calculus exactly zero for Democrats. If anything both sides refusing to have witnesses show makes it a wash instead of just Republicans doing it, which would be a fairly meaningless boost for Republicans.
  19. Wishful thinking is a helluva drug. The Biden's refusing to testify is good for the Republicans, and it certainly isn't a disaster of any sort.
  20. Lidstrom. Also Roy and Hasek. Two of the three played for your Red Wings.
  21. If you were whining there is plenty to whine about. But you're just pointing out how contemptible Confederation is, which is merely a statement of fact, the person whining is the one getting butthurt that you don't like Canada as much as they do.
  22. Not really a whiner, just telling it like it is, but even if you were whining, that isn't such a bad thing, The President of Canada Knows.
  23. Well looks like the Red Wings got a good shot at Lafrienere or Byfield, keep on tanking Detroit. If they have the worst season in the salary cap era and miss out on one of those two though, that would be a real kick in nuts, much to my delight.
  24. If the Leafs won the cup, it wouldn't be an empty feeling for your dad in heaven, so there's that. You might not feel it, but I bet he'd be pumped.
