Screw Canadian content. If the best content happens to be Canadian content, that's great, if not, showing substandard content just because it's Canadian is dumb. Nothing is stopping a private broadcaster from showing Canadian content, content quota's are stupid and you don't need taxpayer subsidization to show Canadian content. If Canadians don't want to consume Canadian content, that is not a problem, and it certainly doesn't justify the CBC's existence.

Why would they replace it? There is no need to replace it, the private sector can do what they do, better than they can do it, and they don't need to be subsidized by taxpayers to do it.

Option Four: Get rid of the CBC. Option Five: CBC stops editing movies to include more commercials when they already show too many commercials. I choose option four.

They should not exist. The private sector can handle everything they do much better than they do it.

No one said they should be allowed to show it, I said we don't need them to show it, the CBC is not required to get American content to Canadian consumers.

Home Alone being an American movie is news to no one, there is no need to bring it up. Canada does not need the CBC to show American movies to Canadian audiences.

It did not air on an international broadcast, it aired on a Canadian broadcast. Why you bring up international broadcasts is beyond me, they have nothing to do with this.

It's not an international program, it is aired for domestic consumption, there is no international angle whatsoever.

Well they did it back in 2014, before he ran for POTUS, but that was after he attacked Obama about his birth certificate, so it could be because they just hated Trump. Editing him out of the movie is dumb whether its politically motivated or not though.

People just need to stop resorting to knee jerk comparison to Hitler of politicians they don't like. Regardless of their politics. If you are pretending someone like Trump is Hitler based on criteria that applies to all kinds of politicians, then every politician is Hitler, and that is just a preposterous assertion. Resorting to Godwin's Law is the kind of argument of someone reacting emotionally and not thinking things through. Just because Hitler did something doesn't mean that everyone else who did something that is similar is Hitler or is acting like Hitler. A politician acting like a politician isn't being Hitler, just because Hitler acted like a politician too.
