You not respecting Roy and thinking they are better is just a laughable emotional position. Your position is not based on accomplishments and skills, but on personality and nostalgia, that is not a proper way to evaluate goaltenders. Who you personally like and don't like clearly effects your judgement to a massive degree, to the point that you undermine your credibility. Evaluating goalies with your heart and not your eyes, that's fools math.

America under President Trump

Doesn't stop him from winning an election when his enemies do more to help his chances of re-election than any supporter ever could. His haters are his best supporters, they just don't know it. -
What Should Canada's Minimum Wage be?
Yzermandius19 replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That speculation does not hurt productive endeavors, it aids productive endeavors, hence it's existence in the first place. Legislation is not required, the market corrects, no need for bailouts. Market corrections happen, blaming speculation is a scapegoat. Casino capitalism is fake news, you can outlaw certain forms of speculation, and that will not prevent a market correction from happening. Many of these corrections are exacerbated by government interference in the economy, that doesn't mean if there was no government intervention there would be no correction, it just means that overdoing it on the regulation side of things like you are trying to do with over burdensome tax rates on capital gains, doesn't help the economy. -
What Should Canada's Minimum Wage be?

Casino capitalism is fake news, it's just scapegoating those who are successful for any problems in the economy. All investing is a gamble, it's still helps the productive economy. Punishing capital and investments does not help labor. -
What Should Canada's Minimum Wage be?
Yzermandius19 replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Or you give people the capital to help them do that. You can call it redistribution if you want, it's still the best way to make money, and taxing the shit out of it is not going to be good for the economy, or poor people. You are just going to make it harder to add value to a resource or deliver a service by doing that, derp. There is nothing wrong with capital gains, it supports the productive economy too, pretending it hurts the productive economy is just zero-sum thinking that does not apply. In economics, win-win situations are totally a thing, one part of the economy doing well doesn't necessarily come at the expense of other parts of the economy, and capital gains is a great example of that. If you want to tax labor less, I agree with you, if you want to tax capital gains more, that's just stupid, and that doesn't help labor. You don't need to tax labor less and capital gains more or vice versa, you need to tax less in both instances if you want a strong economy. Labor does well when capital does well, and capital does well when labor does well, their interests are not opposed, punishing labor hurts capital and punishing capital hurts labor. Enough of the stick, and heavy on the carrot. -
What Should Canada's Minimum Wage be?
Yzermandius19 replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If capital gains created zero wealth, then there would be no gains to realize. Do not tax the crap out of the best way to make money, that isn't going to help the poor at all, that is going to make it even harder for them to climb the ladder, just to punish people with capital for no good reason. -
What Should Canada's Minimum Wage be?
Yzermandius19 replied to a topic in Federal Politics in Canada
UBI does not create an incentive to sit on your ass, you get it whether you work or not. Also UBI is better than minimum wage because it doesn't force employers to pay employees more than they are worth, which results in less jobs being available and less hours for those jobs that aren't as productive as their wage. The incentive with minimum wage leads to more people sitting on their ass than UBI. It makes perfect sense to prefer UBI to a minimum wage, you clearly haven't thought it through. Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell know, Negative Income Tax FTW, Minimum Wage for the fail. -
America under President Trump
Yzermandius19 replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Tell Rue that comparing Trump to Hitler helps Trump by diminishing the credibility of those making the comparison, and he doubles down on it. TDS is a helluva drug. With enemies like this, Trump doesn't need friends, he can coast on the enemies of his enemies to vote for him, just to spite the Rue's of the world. The more Trump's enemies compare him to Hitler, the more swing voters they drive away from the Demohacks. These haters do a better job of driving people to vote for Trump than even his supporters do, keep comparing Trump to Hitler dummies, you're the most counter-productive haters of all time. -

Trump is not Hilter, talk about dumb analogies. Comparing Trump to Hitler is precisely the kind of thing that plays right into Trump's hands. You aren't hurting Trump with your obvious TDS, you are helping him. -

Pulling the plug on LRT shows that Hamilton doesn't want to waste all it's money on useless junk. The future is not LRT, and LRT will not benefit the vulnerable or the city as a whole. You basically support the monorail, and got roped in by catchy propaganda, rube city. -

You do not speak for the "vulnerable", stop pretending to. -

Hamilton won't increase it's tax base by raising taxes to pay for infrastructure boondoggles. LRT will not make Hamilton more livable, it will make it less livable, and raise the cost of living for all. There are way better ways to improve transit infrastructure than LRT, LRT is nothing but a money pit. -

People who don't understand boondoggles call them complex developments, thinking a nicer sounding label makes crap plans easier to sell. -

You buy silly propaganda used to sell boondoggles and make them seem palatable, very gullible. The LRT will not deliver on those false promises, whether you have faith in it or not. -

Yeah, Hamilton can blow the money on slightly less useless things, hurray for us. Thanks Ford. -

Other public transit options lead to those transit hubs, they are not inaccessible and expensive boondoggles won't make them so much more accessible to warrant the costs. LRT is not needed, at all, and has very little to do with linking Hamilton to Toronto whatsoever. -

All the smart and highly employable people who make cities richer won't settle for crap LRT either, and neither will the increased taxes to pay for the crap LRT make them settle either. You are trying to make Hamilton less competitive, stop pretending to be looking out for Hamilton's interests, you are doing the exact opposite. You can take your fake sympathy and shove it. -

Hamilton doesn't need LRT, not blowing more money is a good thing. Buying useless sh*t we don't need would make us losers. Thanks Ford, much appreciated. -

Clearly you don't understand the costs of LRT on thousands of Hamiltonians who don't depend on public transit, nor the impact of businesses not invested near the LRT, nor the impact on all non-construction-related jobs, nor the long-term impact of the city's productivity and livability. Clearly you don't care about most people in Hamilton and would rather waste money on virtue signaling about the "vulnerable" rather than seeking to help them instead. I live in the urban core, and use public transit. Stop pretending you know better than me what my own interests are and that I don't care about people like me, just because I disagree with you and know LRT is a useless boondoggle, which is why Hamilton won't pay for it. If it was as good of an idea as you claim, Hamilton still go ahead without provincial funds, yet they don't, because it's a sh*t investment and always was. -

Backing out of useless infrastructure boondoggles is good for business, because the businesses don't get their tax rate hiked to pay for useless junk.
