Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You are changing your story now. You wanted everyone who talked to a politician to be on camera. Now are talking about conversations between public officials. Cabinet meetings have always been private. Government officials have a right to discuss business privately. You already have public viewing available for Parliament and Parliamentary committee meetings. -
Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If China is allowed to take over the EV business, that would put Canadian EV manufacturers out of business. Secondly, they could easily use EVs to spy on Canadians. Thirdly, the quality of the EVs might be very poor. Fourthly, the EVs could be controlled remotely and be shut down. -
Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk

You simply don't understand what we're talking about. You don't solve the problem of foreign interference by taking away everyone's freedom in Canada to speak to their MPs. You would be playing right into Communist China's hands. They are an authoritarian country and want us to be too. We are not China. We have to do things differently from Communist China. -
Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk

Communist China is a threat in every way possible. They are not just another trading partner. Most politicians never understood this. Pierre Trudeau was sucked by the Communists back in 1970. Canada never learned much since then. -
Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk

Of course because that idea is bizarre. It is violation of personal freedom and like something out of a totalitarian system, like Orwells' 1984. You have it in your head that it's ok for Big Brother to spy on everyone's personal conversations. Maybe have a camera in every home and watch and listen to everything everyone says would please you. -
" BERLIN (AP) — Germany's government on Wednesday launched new legislation to ease the deportation of foreigners who publicly approve of terrorist acts. Under the law, a single comment on social media could provide grounds for kicking people out. The measure approved by the Cabinet was pledged by Chancellor Olaf Scholz following a knife attack last month on members of a group that describes itself as opposing “political Islam,” an assault that left a police officer dead. It comes as Scholz's government faces broader pressure to curb migration." Germany moves to ease the deportation of foreigners who glorify terrorist acts (msn.com) Canada may have trouble doing this because of the Supreme Court which leans over backwards to give rights to criminals.

Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk

Actually we know foreign entities do hack into computers and networks now. Sometimes for ransom payments. It is not unreasonable to believe it is commonly being done to gather intelligence and technology. How secure are government and industry computer networks now? -
Ban importation of overseas EVs as security risk
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes, I know about the Huawei matter. I think they have been banned because of the risks associated with a telecom company from China. The other countries in the Five Eyes banned them long before Canada. I still don't understand why it took years for Canada to do the same. Could it be because of foreign interference in Canada? If you consider that computers, smart phones, and other things are manufactured in China, what are the possibilities that they could be used for nefarious purposes? -
I have often found people who hold strong anti-religion or atheistic beliefs are hard to discuss it with. But I am still hopeful they will listen to reason and logic and perhaps over time, change their thinking. This article goes to the heart of the issue. quote How I Know Christianity is True Article contributed by Probe Ministries Visit Probe's website Probe's Patrick Zukeran offers 5 lines of evidence that Christianity is true: Christianity teaches the correct worldview, the Bible is God's Word, Jesus confirmed His claims, Christ's resurrection, and personal experience. Because Christianity Teaches the Correct Worldview Among all the religions and philosophies, how do we know Christianity is true? While there are many ways to address the question, let's begin by saying that Christianity makes sense of the world around us. In other words, it presents the most correct worldview based on the world in which we live. There are three worldviews that lie at the foundation of all religions and philosophies: theism, naturalism, and pantheism. Theism teaches there is a personal God who created the universe. Naturalism teaches there is no divine being and that the universe is the result of time and chance. Pantheism teaches that the universe is eternal and that the divine is an impersonal force made up of all things. All three worldviews cannot be true at the same time and if one of them is true, the other two must be false. The evidence from our study of the universe points to theism. Unfortunately, time will allow me to go over only three lines of evidence. The first is the argument from first cause or the cosmological argument, which states if something exists, it must have either come from something else, come from nothing, or have always existed. What is the most reasonable conclusion of the three for the existence of the universe? Scientists confirm that the universe has a beginning. Many call this the "big bang." Since the universe assuredly has a beginning, the worldview of pantheism bears the burden of proof. Second, to say the universe comes from nothing goes against responsible scientific inquiry and human logic. For example, any invention in human history is not brought about from nothing. It comes from materials and ingenuity that existed before its inception. Therefore, the naturalist worldview has no logical ground to stand on. The best conclusion is that the universe is the result of a cause greater than itself. That cause is God. unquote This is only part of the article. " “These cars, particularly the ones that are equipped with self-driving capabilities or smart features, have microphones and cameras. They are rolling spy vans,” said David Shipley, the CEO of Beauceron Security, a New Brunswick-based cybersecurity firm. Shipley says massive data collection is one of several potential threats. He warns that EVs and other smart vehicles could also be manipulated by bad actors." ‘Rolling spy vans’? Canada weighs possible security threat of Chinese EVs (msn.com) This raises a lot of questions. What about computers or Smart phones or other technology made in China?

Sorry you are completely wrong. Individual men wrote the 44 books of the Bible as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. Whether you believe it or not is your choice. Nobody is forcing you to believe one way or another.
-
Not according to me. According to the Bible.. Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. Guess you didn't read any information on the link I gave you. All you have to do is do a search "why Christianity is true and other religions are false" or similar and you will find tons of information. If you want to remain in the dark that's your choice. But you can't say you were not pointed in the right direction.

You interpret standing up for the Bible as the truth as demeaning others. In your world all religions are equal. Since they are all totally different even from each other, how can you say defending one particular belief is demeaning others? To start with that is illogical. It doesn't matter whether you are talking about politics or religion. There are a number of different views or beliefs and which one is correct to you or anyone depends on their personal beliefs. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs. Therefore what you are saying is Christianity is wrong because it doesn't accept other people's beliefs which contradict it. That is illogical. There can be only one truth, not a hundred different truths and there is nothing demeaning about one stating what they believe to be the truth. Calling it demeaning or trying to exercise power over others is ludicrous. It is illogical.

" Because the Bible is God's Word Among all the books written by man, none have the credentials that equal the Bible. The second evidence for Christianity is the Bible, which proves itself to be true and divinely inspired. The Bible proves itself to be true because it is a historically accurate document. Thousands of archaeological discoveries confirm its historical accuracy. Numerous civilizations, rulers, and events once thought legendary by the skeptics have been confirmed by archaeology. Even miraculous geographic events in Sodom and Gomorrah, Jericho, and Sennachareb's defeat in the 7th century B.C. have passed the test of archaeological scrutiny. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below Another proof of the Bible's truth is in historical records outside the Bible. Numerous historical records from ancient civilizations confirm the historicity of the biblical accounts. Dr. William Albright, who is still respected as probably the foremost authority in Middle Eastern archaeology, said this about the Bible: "There can be no doubt that archaeology has confirmed the substantial historicity of the Old Testament."3 The historical evidence upholds the premise that if an ancient historical work proves to be accurate again and again in its detail, we can be confident that it is accurate on the material we cannot confirm externally. The Bible's divine inspiration is attested to in its unity. Although the Bible is written over a 1500 year period, written by over forty different authors from different backgrounds, and covers a host of controversial subjects, it maintains a unified theme and it does not contradict itself in principle from beginning to end. This indicates that a divine author supervised the entire process and guided each writer. Second, we have the remarkable record of prophecy. Hundreds of detailed prophecies are written years before the event takes place. For example the prophet Ezekiel in chapter 26 describes accurately how the city of Tyre will be destroyed years before it occurs. Daniel predicts the empires of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. Prophecy shows the divine hand of God because only an eternal being could have inspired the writers to leave such a legacy. Finally, the Bible answers the major questions all belief systems must answer. Where did we come from? What is the nature of the divine? What is our relationship to the divine? What is the nature of man? How do we explain the human predicament? What is the answer to the human predicament? What happens after death? And how do we explain evil? Any system that does not answer these questions is an incomplete system. The Bible gives the most complete and accurate answers to the truly important questions of human existence. No other book ever written has these credentials. A book written by God would have the fingerprints of God all over it. The Bible alone has His fingerprints.4" How I Know Christianity is True | Bible.org

Sorry, but that is false. The King James Bible (1611) is absolutely an accurate translation of the Bible. The New Testament is based on the Received Text and the Old Testament is based on the Masoretic Text. This website has hundreds of article and videos on the King James Bible. The King James Bible Defended! (jesus-is-savior.com) Beware, the Devil doesn't want anyone to trust the Bible. That's why lots of lies are often spread around. What you said is a common lie. There is no truth in it. God guided godly translators who used trustworthy copies of manuscripts to produce the King James Bible (1611). There are thousands of manuscripts and parts of manuscripts plus ancient sermons that were preached using Holy Scriptures that can be used to verify the accuracy of the King James Bible today. It should be pointed out that modern versions are based on corrupt manuscripts and a false theory of two men, Westcott and Hort who produced a corrupt Greek version in 1881. All modern versions take their lead from the corrupt work of these two men. That has led to much error and confusion. But the KJV (1611) is the only absolutely accurate and trustworthy version.

Perhaps if you studied the Bible, you might know it is the word of God and all others you mentioned are man-made inventions, i.e. false religion. What part of the world did you come from that makes you have such animosity against the Bible and Christianity? Or is there some other reason? " 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. " 2 Peter 1:21 "16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2 Timothy 3:16

quote The word Islam means "submission". Not only in the sense of submission to Allah, but in the sense of making everyone submit to the rule of Islam. Islam is about subduing the world and making it submit. The Muslims believe that Mohammed is the exemplar of right conduct. They aspire to be like him in the same manner that Christians aspire to be like Jesus. Mohammed said to spread, through warfare, the rules of Islam. Mohammed became increasingly violent during his career and spent 10 years in Medina creating an army to overthrow his homeland, Mecca, after he was ran off by the pagans in 622 AD. He killed thousands of people and subdued Arabia through war. Muslims are encouraged to commit acts of heroism in combat. They are promised that those who kill and are killed will be rewarded with paradise. This is the basis for suicide bombers. They believe that since they are killing while they are killed that the sin of suicide is covered by the martyrdom of their action and, as such, they will be rewarded in heaven. Islam is a religion of political rule, a system of government. It is not about a personal relationship with Allah, it is about bringing the world under submission to its rule. unquote Islam in the bible - Islam will rule the world (prophecyandtruth.com) Notice Islam is to be spread by violence, force, political action or any means possible. Christianity is not to be spread by such means, but simply by the preaching of the gospel and the Word of God, the Bible.

Not at all. Islam is totally contrary to the Bible and Christianity. I don't know where you get your ideas, but it is wrong. quote The Muslims are worshiping the same false god that people have been worshiping since early times as far back as Israel's beginnings. Most importantly, Muslims say you don’t need to believe in Jesus Christ to be saved! Muslims will admit that Jesus Christ was a true prophet, but deny that He was the Messiah (although some Western Muslims will say He was anointed), they will deny that He was God manifested in the flesh as of the Son of God (John 1:14), and they will deny that He died on the cross and rose again. Does that make sense? Absolutely not! That belief cannot be truth because Jesus Christ Himself said He was the Messiah, and said He was the Son of God! John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. That would make Him a false prophet according to the Muslim beliefs! How twisted is that? But it’s a lie believed by one and a half billion people. We absolutely must believe that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, was crucified for our sins and rose again. This is the gospel! unquote Islam in the bible - Islam will rule the world (prophecyandtruth.com)

The fact which cannot be disputed is Islam is completely contrary to the Bible and Christianity. It is contrary to western Christian culture upon which much of our laws and practices rest.

The reason why missionaries went out to the jungles of the world to take the gospel to the aboriginals had nothing to to with economics or technological/military superiority. They believed that sharing the gospel with the rest of the world was their duty or higher calling. That is what Jesus told his followers to do: "15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16 KJV Colonization by people in general and rulers is how the whole world was settled. Settlers also brought many advances to backward countries and regions. Some people believed they were called by God to take the gospel to backward parts of the world. In some places aboriginals were considered savages because they practiced cannibalism and other uncivilized things.

We know people are often trying to get away from war, poverty, famine, oppression, but we also should know many of these people are totally incompatible with western Judeo-Christian civilization. Lots of them were allowed into France and England and now there are no-go zones because radical Islamists control the areas. There have been terrorist attacks also by some of these people. Not to mention 9-11 when a group of them killed over 3,000 people in New York. Why have you not been concerned about the large number of Palestinian / Hamas supporters protesting in Canada and spreading hate toward the Jews? Wake up. When will you people ever learn? They don't fit in here. You and MH don't seem to understand that.

Judeo-Christianity has made western society more civilized and humane over the centuries than the rest of the world. Do you seriously believe places like the middle east, Africa, Asia, etc. have better values than western countries which are based on Judeo-Christian principles and laws? Even Communist countries like China, N. Korea, and Russia do not have the same human rights protections that western democratic countries have. I wonder why that is. Christianity defends human rights and is one of the reasons human rights exist in the west. They believe in the sanctity of human life, which has lately been rejected by many in favour of an individual's right to choose regardless of the harm it does to human life. We are talking about laws respecting property rights, laws against murder, stealing, marriage and divorce. Laws that respect human rights and oppose discrimination based on religious beliefs as in Iran and Afghanistan where women are badly treated. The reason you are opposed to Christianity having any say in the political system is because you are deceived. " You may wonder, “Why would people oppose Christians? Christians care about and help their neighbors. They are good workers on the job. They are good citizens. Why is there such intense opposition toward Christianity and Christians?” The answer is that there is an evil spiritual being, the devil, who is at work in the world to oppose God and His Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. As Paul later explained to this Ephesian Church, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places”(Eph. 6:12)."
