  1. As someone on the older side with heart problems, I would have to vote no to returning everything to normal. Why? Because I would like to stay alive. I take all possible measures to avoid Covid, but one only do so much and sometimes I have to go to places where there are other people. I do so cautiously with a mask as close to N95 as I can find. Spend most time at home, but I still have to go out sometimes for essential things/reasons. I don't really want to wander into a mass of people spreading Covid around. I might also might need the use of the hospital and would not like to see the medical system collapse or be overrun with Covid patients. It's bad enough now that the medical system is putting cardiac and cancer patients on hold, claiming they are "elective" surgery patients. The word "elective" is dishonest and deceptive. Many of them are urgent cases who have just as much right to health care as anyone else. Reportedly thousands have died waiting. Canada' public health care system is ignoring treating everyone and everyone has a right to health care. So much for the "public" health care system. I would give it a rating of 2 out of 5. They have to find a way to treat everyone in a timely manner.
  2. There are lots of Marxist leaning people in Canada. The government is full of them. The Liberals have even been pushing for a way to control people's speech on social media by using the Canadian Radio Television Commission to control social media companies to control people's speech on the internet. As usual the Liberals tie their sinister new laws in with some law that sounds benign like helping or protecting Canadian culture and heritage.
  3. No man is an island. We each have to do our part to protect the health care system and society as a whole.
  4. That's fiction. Everyone is required to do their part to protect everyone. Same reason we must obey stops signs, speed limits, and traffic lights and wear seatbelts. It's not rocket science. Everyone wants and depends on a public health care system. That's the system we have. Therefore we have to do our part to protect it and make sure it's there for people that need it. No man is an island unto himself in society. Sometimes, we have to do certain things to protect others.
  5. You didn't mention that the health care system is in danger of being over-loaded by Covid patients. That is the problem. If the health care system is overloaded, people who need heart or cancer surgeries are being shuffled aside and dying while waiting. Other emergency cases as well may not be able to get treated because of the overwhelming number of Covid patients. That is why everyone should get vaccinated. It is to protect society as a whole.
  6. This went further into religion because I was talking about liberal policies which are against the Bible. I am sorry if it disturbed you. It was not meant to offend anyone. Since my beliefs are based on what the Bible teaches, I must refute liberal ideology on that basis. There is no other answer to it. If you say I can't speak if it has reference to the Bible or religion then you are effectively denying my freedom of religion and freedom of speech. It can't be a free society if conversations cannot include all points of view, including religious ones. If we do that, we become like China, exactly what many of us oppose. That would be totalitarianism and speech control. Just because there is a thread for religion that doesn't mean one cannot mention the subject under other headings. If my point is relative to the topic, I should be allowed to speak it and others show their agreement by replying to it. But you can't always box religion into a certain category if it is related to the topic at hand somehow. Again that is speech control and denial of freedom.
  7. Yes, it drifted. Someone makes some comment related and then it drifts. I'm not the only one who drifts. I see it all the time.
  8. Nobody can hide in their homes permanently. There are certain things you have to go out for. I pick up my groceries at Walmart as they bring them out and put them in the car. Order online. But sometimes it is necessary to go to the drugstore or insurance office to renew car insurance. There are some things that cannot be done on line. There is also the odd thing that needs to be picked up or mailed at the post office. It is not possible to be completely 100% isolated forever. That's why we get vaccinated with the booster shot.
  9. I listened to the first part. I don't have 40 minutes to listen to what I already know they will say. That is their opinion which they have a right to say. But you have to remember there are thousands of doctors and disease experts who would disagree with their point of view. Society is made up of various groups which have opposing opinions, some totally opposite. You have to weigh the evidence they present against other experts opinion. This groups says they believe in doing no harm, but how many of them support abortion on demand and medical assistance in dying? That is doing harm by killing people. How many of these organizations speak out against abortion and medical assistance in dying. None I bet. They claim to be defenders of people, but as long as that fits into their own agenda. If they were sincere they would be speaking against abortion and medical assistance dying. But they cherry pick the issue they want to oppose such as vaccinations against Covid for some reason.
  10. I've been hiding for almost two years now. Still have to go out for certain essential things but try to stay distant and wear a mask and most important, be vaccinated. Stayed away from the dentist even though I should have some work done. Cancelled echo cariogram two or three times because the technician is only about a foot from your face for 20 minutes. Yes I'm doing my part.
  11. The vaccines are not "experimental" though. They say the vaccines have been thoroughly tested. So how do you decide who to believe? Plenty of health experts say on TV say the Covid is a far worse thing to get than the small risk from vaccine. Over 30,000 deaths in Canada tied to Covid plus countless others with long term medical issues. Versus very rare effects from the vaccines and far less chance of even being hospitalized if you are vaccinated. I'll take my chances with the vaccine, thanks. If you want to be a anti-vaxxer, please feel free to do so.
  12. Yes. I focused on John because it makes it very clear how to be born again or saved. Salvation by faith.
  13. Read the gospel of John in the New Testament and perhaps Luke after that. The key to heaven is in those gospels. Debating whether Jesus was a humanist is pointless. He was seen by many after the resurrection and so he is who he said he is. Maybe watch the free movie on the internet. Google "The Life of Jesus".
  14. Yes, there is more to it than what I read. Not sure what to believe. Medications are very complex and I doubt most "experts" we see on TV are really qualified to comment on them.
  15. I heard an expert on TV say the other day the there is a new oral, at home use, Pfizer drug called Paxlovid to treat people with Covid and it is 98% effective. It is an anti-viral at home drug. But it has to go through the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHA) to be approved. In the meantime, how many more people will die that could have been saved with this drug? How much urgency does the PHA put on this kind of thing? I don't have a whole lot of confidence that they will act swiftly. Yet the UK has approved it and the US FDA approved it two weeks ago. Why is the PHA of Canada so slow? "“Today’s authorization introduces the first treatment for COVID-19 that is in the form of a pill that is taken orally — a major step forward in the fight against this global pandemic,” said Patrizia Cavazzoni, M.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “This authorization provides a new tool to combat COVID-19 at a crucial time in the pandemic as new variants emerge and promises to make antiviral treatment more accessible to patients who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19.” Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: FDA Authorizes First Oral Antiviral for Treatment of COVID-19 | FDA
  16. This is an abuse of the taxpayers of Canada. They are going to pay out tens of thousands of dollars to aboriginal children who were rescued from dangerous situations and placed in white Canadian foster homes because there was nowhere else to place them. They were not abused in their foster homes. The only reason they are being paid is they were allegedly, in today's world, denied their culture. This is complete madness and shows how far our government has gone off the rails and has no respect for taxpayer's money.
  17. God says we are all sinners with a corrupt fallen nature and that we need to come to God on our knees in sorrow and repent for our sins and seek forgiveness. It is God that forgives for that, not man, but only for those who accept and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. Those ones are saved for eternity; the rest are lost forever. True religion is not about worshiping some idol or false God. It is about believing in the one true God and his Son as one's Savior. Hiding behind the perceived shortcomings of religious people won't excuse one either. Churches are hospitals for the sick. The gospel message is for sinners, those who need to be saved. Of course nobody is sinless, so that is the answer.
  18. When you apply the word love to homosexuality in total contravention of the teachings through the Bible condemning it, you are not speaking truth. Just applying the word love randomly to anything that God condemns is not real love. Love between people is a real thing but it is only real love when it is within God's ordained relationships such as between a man and woman, husband and wife, between good friends, or a parent and their child or between someone who legitimately cares for the welfare of others. Not between illegitimate sexual unions contrary to God's will. Approving of such practices is not love. "26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" Romans ch1: 26-28 KJB
  19. Your choice. The Bible is the most powerful, earth moving book on earth. You can be sure Communist China would not allow it if they could ban it. It would be a serious threat to their system if the people all had it and believed it. It would end Communism in China. It is so powerful it guides lost mankind to avoid hell and receive eternal life for those who believe it. Those who scoff at it are just condemning themselves, but there is forgiveness for those who repent and believe the gospel.
  20. The Old Testament is also part of the Bible which is embraced by Christians as an important part of the whole Bible. What happened during the Old Testament period is very relative to believers today. Christ was a Jew and descended from King David and before that from Abraham, the father of Israel. The Old Testament are Holy Scriptures and were given to mankind through Old Testament prophets who were the Jews as part of the nation of Israel. There is much important information in the Old Testament for believers today.
  21. If you believe man evolved from monkeys or apes, which has been debunked. Go to creation.com
  22. If you believe man evolved from apes and monkeys. Bible scholars say the earth was possibly 6,000 years old. Go to creation.com and read some of the articles.
  23. This is the first I've heard about the term. One website says it refers to the period 300 to 500 B.C. Another writer says it refers to the 1,000 year millennium from 1,000 B.C. to 0 B.C. Will read a little more about it. The Bible goes further back than 1,000 B.C. The Bible begins with the account of creation which is believed to be about 6,000 years ago or 4,000 B.C. Then there was the period before Noah's flood which was believed to have occurred 2,348 B.C. The call of Abraham was in 1921 B.C. or 3900 years ago exactly. So the point I am making is Biblical history goes back over 4,000 years ago and it is all related to Christianity.
  24. I plead guilty. Trying to show the immorality or evil nature of liberal, left thinking and policies. All roads eventually must lead to the Bible as the source of truth. sola scriptura Michael's Catholismo takes it's lead from other sources like secularism, which is just man's opinion.
