Should Hamas support rallies in Canada be stopped?
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I thought that Muslims follow the Quran; doesn't the Quran say to kill the infidels (non-Muslims)? Some websites deny this and claim it does not teach that, while other websites say it does. How does a Muslim know what the truth is? "The Koran (translated by Dawood in Penguin Classics series) says, "When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them" (Sura 9:5). "When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield, strike off their heads" (Sura 47:4). "Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate" (Sura 9:73). "The true believers fight for the cause of God, but the infidels fight for the devil. Fight then against the friends of Satan" (Sura 4:76). Who are these idolaters and unbelievers and infidels? Those who are not strict Muslims. "Muhammad is God's Apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another" (Sura 48:29)." Think again: The Koran does say to kill infidels | Opinions | bozemandailychronicle.com Should this be enough to reject followers of this religion? Or how do you tell? -

That would mean a major war, maybe a world war, not something anyone wants. -
It is worse than that. He pontificates and lectures Canadians on the CBC, CTV news regularly. A guy who has said bad things about the truckers / anti vax protesters, evangelical Christians, conservatives, and now people who burn natural gas to heat their homes are unworthy. Only his Liberal constituencies in the maritimes deserve a break on the carbon taxes on home heating. He is nobody to be lecturing Canadians about anything. He is a real cause of division.

quote Israel conquered the West Bank during the Six-Day War in June 1967. Soon afterwards, Israeli civilians began moving to the region, initially to areas like Kfar Etzion that had been home to Jewish communities before Israel’s founding in 1948. In 1968, a rabbi named Moshe Levinger and a small group of followers who embraced a messianic version of religious Zionism moved into the ancient city of Hebron, in the heartland of the West Bank. Hebron is a holy city for Jews because it is believed to be the burial place of the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah. The population of Israelis living in the West Bank has mushroomed over the years. An estimated 430,000 Israeli Jews now live in 132 officially recognized “settlements” and in 121 unofficial “outposts” that require, but haven’t yet received, government approval. Constituting about 15% of the West Bank’s total population, these “settlers” live in their own communities, separate from the area’s approximately 3 million Palestinian residents. unquote Israel’s West Bank settlements: 4 questions answered (theconversation.com) Israelis consider the West Bank as part of Israel. It is a disputed territory. But what makes you come down on the side of Palestinians rather than Israel? Remember Israel conquered it in the 1967 war.

That is simply not true. The number of abortions in Canada is: Annual Abortion Totals by Year 2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 91,155 83,576 85,294 94,030 97,764 100,104 100,194 102,446 100,958 108,844 These are infinitely valuable human beings. Remember "every child matters" that we see on the orange shirts. Canada needs every unborn child as well to help contribute to our country's social services and our Old Age Pension for everyone when they retire. That is why we are bringing in half a million immigrants per year. To try to keep our pensions and everything else going. However, that is just one practical reason for protecting human life. The bottom line is human life is sacred. We are created in the image of God. quote More Canadians are ending their lives with a medically-assisted death, says the third federal annual report on medical assistance in dying (MAID). Data shows that 10,064 people died in 2021(opens in a new tab) with medical aid, an increase of 32 per cent over 2020. The report says that 3.3 per cent of all deaths in Canada in 2021 were assisted deaths. On a provincial level, the rate was higher in provinces such as Quebec, at 4.7 per cent, and British Columbia, at 4.8 per cent. “It is rising remarkably fast," University of Toronto law professor Trudo Lemmens, who was a member of the Council of Canadian Academies Expert Panel on Medical Assistance in Dying, wrote in an email to CTV News. He noted that some regions in the country have quickly matched or surpassed rates in Belgium and the Netherlands, where the practice has been in place for over two decades. unquote Medical assistance in dying given to 10K Canadians in 2021 | CTV News The number of deaths by MAID in 2022 is much higher that previous years, possibly over 13,000. It will be much higher this year and then next year they are loosening the criteria so the figures will be even high from 2024 on. This has nothing to do with how Canadians "get along" or the fact that advances in medicine, etc. increase the lifespan for many people. This is a descent into darkness, barbarism, heathenism, and decadence of society in general. It is a tragic decline of Judeo-Christian values and loss of respect for human life.

" 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. {ungodly: or, wicked} 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. {wither: Heb. fade} 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. " Psalm 1 KJV You right about that. We have totally opposite views.

Everyone has free will. If you are talking about individual rights that is a little different subject. We do have basic fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of association, etc., but all those basic rights have limits on them too. Basic rights are not unlimited. That is not the same thing as free will. You have free will in the sense you are free to believe what you wish. But you also have responsibilities that go with that. If you believe the wrong things and make the wrong choices in life, there are consequences.
-
I am just trying to figure out exactly what you mean and having a little difficulty. Perhaps you could be more specific. If you are saying believers are denying free will to people, I would have to know in what way you mean. Seems to me there is a lot of freedom in this country now for people to do a lot of things. There are some things that there should be laws against because evil should not be supported by government. If you mean freedom to kill unborn babies, I do not think anyone should have the freedom to do that. Of course free will does not mean everyone should be free to do evil things.

What I don't understand is why does Hamas still have some control of the Rafah border crossing and decide who can leave the country? I thought Hamas was being hunted down by the IDF and be in hiding by now. So how is it they are actually controlling and having a say in who crosses the border from Gaza to Egypt? They must be far more powerful than I thought.

That is not how God has chosen to operate. He chose not to create robots, but rather gave man free will to choose the good or evil, heaven or hell, God or Satan, life or death. It's your choice. He has given us his written word or revelation, in English, the King James Bible, that explains it all and exhorts us to make the right choice. The world is an evil place and life is a struggle for many people. But there is hope for a better future with joy and happiness if one will take the time to study it and believe in Jesus Christ. That is why it is often called the good news. Don't let the Devil lie to you to keep you in darkness with no hope. There is victory available. "10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. 11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. 12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it." Proverb 9:10 KJV

It should be mentioned that God once had a beautiful angel in heaven named Lucifer. Lucifer thought he could be like God or replace God. So he was kicked out of heaven along with one third of the angels that followed him. See Isaiah ch14 in the Old Testament about this. The only Bible that has a true account of this fall is the King James Bible. That is when Lucifer became Satan and the angels that followed him are demons. Satan has a huge influence over the earth and mankind for the time being. Mankind generally follows him and is working to build a new world order. "3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy 4:3 KJV That is the times we are living in now. There is a way out of this Satanic trap. That is through believing the gospel, i.e. believe in Jesus Christ and what he did for us and you personally. See John 3:16 KJV

This is a fair question in view of the widespread abortions in Canada and the legalization of medical assistance in dying. It also helps explain the widespread crime and insecurity many Canadians feel in their own country. The subject of respect for human life touches on everything. This video from the First Baptist Church in Dallas on the Sixth Commandment of the Ten Commandments explains why human life should be respected and preserved. Human life is sacred. One reason is because God created man in his own image. The Sixth Commandment - Preserve Life - Pathway to Victory (ptv.org) One of the very first commandments that God gave was: "6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. " Genesis 9:6 KJV Dr. Jeffress points out the reason for this commandment. Human life is so valuable that anyone who takes it wrongly shall have his life taken. An example of the dysfunction in Canada is a man was found guilty of murder for putting poison in a little child's cereal which resulted in the death of the child. His punishment was ostensibly a life sentence which meant 17 years in prison and then possible parole. Dr. Jeffress explains why life should be preserved. When human life is devalued, society pays in various ways. Believe it or not, capital punishment for murder is for the purpose of preserving life. To abolish it means devaluing human life. Not only does this subject require faith on God but in Jesus Christ and his written revelation, the Bible, but we are taught to carry the fire. Dr. Jeffress explains what that means. That is how Canada will have a just society. It must follow the principles taught in the Holy Scripture. Without that, all a nation has is human reasoning to guide itself. We can see where that has led us. It is turning the country into a dysfunctional society where people have little hope and more crime and corruption.

I don't believe in those conspiracy theories. The evidence for the al Qaida terrorist 9-11 attack is overwhelming. There is even video showing the planes flying into the twin towers. They have recordings of the planes that were hijacked by the terrorists and people on the plane that called relatives on cell phones and gave information about the hijacking. Documentaries showed a lot of the evidence. Almost nobody questions it. They have the history of the terrorists and what they were doing to prepare for the attack. They also flew one plane into the Pentagon at the same time. Another plane crashed into the ground. Tons of evidence it was a terrorist attack involving a number of terrorists. -
If nuclear power plants were a profitable business to get into, why are private companies not building them everywhere? Having government invest taxpayers money in building private businesses is not the answer. Government doing it would be disaster. They lack the knowledge and are inefficient. So it would have to be done by private companies. It is not being done probably because private companies do not see it as profitable and there are too many hurdles to get past. Companies have to see it as a proven money-maker. You also have government environmental hurdles to overcome. It would probably take decades to get approval to build some nuclear power plants or they would never get approved because of environmental concerns and opposition from many people. So it doesn't seem like it would be possible in the foreseeable future to have a lot of nuclear private plants. There are too many obstacles.

I don't know how you figure that. America was attacked on 9-11 and over 3,000 lost their lives to al Qaida. America had a perfect right to go after al Qaida wherever they were in the world. So they did take action against terrorists in the middle east and Afghanistan. They had no choice. America has had to fight against Communist dictatorships and terrorists in the world. That is not being a sponsor or supporter of terrorism. If they didn't act, you might be living under a totalitarian or Communist system now. The Islamic extremists are very bold and will go into the west and attack if given the chance. America is a superpower and has to defend itself and its interests in the world or be taken over and pushed out by other superpowers or radical Islamic countries like Iran. Europe and America have struggled for a long time to maintain western interests in the middle east. If they didn't China or Russia would just extend their control over the area and expand from there. That is just how the world works. The west sees Israel as a holy land for Jews and Christians and Muslims see it as theirs. So it is a kind of focal point for much of the world. Israel was formed again in 1948 and is not going to disappear because Muslims want it gone. Their problem is they are not willing to accept it and live in peace. So there is no solution. -
You realize the natural gas industry is a major industry in B.C. and a new pipeline to the coast is now being completed so we can ship natural gas to the rest of the world. Do you really want to stop natural gas production and use? It is a very clean-burning fuel and generates a lot of heat. Why kill a major industry such as natural gas when the province can earn hundreds of millions of dollars in royalty revenue and thousands of good-paying jobs for Canadians? We will also be capable to selling it countries like China which presently are building more coal-fired generating plants. Natural gas is much cleaner and more efficient. First nations bands along the pipeline route will also benefit from the pipeline. That's why they support it.

I lived in northwest B.C. for 27 years and had a natural gas furnace. The monthly bill in the winter was around $300 or $350 including carbon taxes. I kept my receipts at that time and from 2008 to 2016, I paid about $300 per year in carbon taxes and I don't believe there was any rebate. That is a significant amount of money for a retired person. I don't believe it made any difference to CO2 emissions or climate change. It was nothing more than a scam tax. B.C. was one of the first in the world if not the first to impose carbon taxes on its citizens. They had no feeling for people. I doubt I will ever vote for the BC Liberals (now BC United Party) or the NDP. But my vote is next to worthless. B.C. is full of left winger woke, tree huggers and such.

No research has proven that man is the cause of climate change. You seem so adamant and believe everything you-ve read. So why don't you give the basic research and proven facts that demonstrate man is causing climate change. I am waiting. So you take the word of a prominent atheist who denies God exists and created the universe; someone who is a highly recognized theoretical scientist I assume, but has absolutely no credible explanation of where the universe came from. Steven Hawking was not a researcher of climate science. He did no research himself on it as far as I know. He was a theoretical physicist and cosmologist. I will say he had 50 years of struggle with motor neurone disease which was difficult. Yet you "are sold" simply because he says something. Interesting. I would believe 99.999999% of people are like you and simply belief something because the media or some politician says it is a fact. None of the climate alarmism believers have any clue about what proof there is or lack thereof, but they just believe it because somebody in media or political world says so over and over again. That is called manipulation or propagandizing.

People are using natural gas furnaces and driving their cars because that is a necessity of life. It is very inconsiderate and harmful to Canadians to tax them for just living. Who could turn their temperature down in their home in a cold country like Canada? It is an insane demand by Trudeau and others. Do you think Trudeau turned the heat down in his offices and home? Not a chance. Trudeau constantly accuses ordinary Canadians of polluting, Canadians who are just trying to live their life and make ends meet. He constantly claims the carbon tax is fighting pollution, which is the biggest lie of the century. He flies around the world constantly in a government jet, emitting huge amounts of CO2 and thinks nothing of it. This is hypocrisy. He is currently off on a jaunt to a conference of the organization of Americas. Also, man cannot control the climate and nothing will change that fact. Man only contributes a tiny amount of the total CO2. 97% of CO2 is natural emitting. All humans emit CO2 when they breath. Would Trudeau call humans polluters. Probably. According to Trudeau and Guilbeault, humans are the problem. They worship Mother Earth. This is an idol and false god. Humans are not the problem. The problem in this country is the people who do not understand all this climate change alarmism and environmental radicalism (Guilbault is a known radical from Greenpeace who climbed a building illegally in Toronto).
-
Canada has sunk very low on many issues. The list is so long. Just pick a subject. Trudeau's superiority in saying there will absolutely be NO MORE CARVEOUTs of the carbon tax just proves his arrogance. He could care less about Canadians. The only reason he gave a break to the Atlantic provinces is because Liberal voters in that area were turning against him. Everything he does is geared to the next election. But he has made grave mistakes and has gone down in the polls a long way. But never underestimate the cunning abilities of liberal politicians. We can be sure they are scheming for the next election and will have something up their sleeve.

More tax dollars for the Native Indians.
blackbird replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Our B.C. NDP government is always looking for any excuses to hand millions of dollars over to aboriginals. New schemes are announced every few days and more money is poured out for them. Yet the walk-in medical clinic in Campbell River is closing. How about spending money on the health care system instead of throwing out hundreds of millions of dollars for feel-good saving the forest with "knowledge keepers"? "Campbell River is about to lose its only walk-in medical clinic. The Quinsam Medical Walk In Clinic in Campbell River’s Willow Point neighbourhood will close permanently after its last full day on Nov. 17 to people who aren’t connected to one of its family doctors. The clinic has been hearing from those who will be impacted." Campbell River's only walk-in clinic for unattached patients is set to close (cheknews.ca) -
More tax dollars for the Native Indians.
blackbird replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The federal government just promised 500 million dollars and the B.C. government contributed 500 million plus dollars to a fund to preserve one third of the wilderness of B.C. Of course the natives will be on the receiving end as they will be part of the plan on how this will work and they are the "knowledge keepers". They apparently know how to preserve the wilderness but it will be at everyone else's expense. It pays to claim you are a knowledge keeper, but you must be indigenous to qualify. -

You still don't get it. Islamic theocracies like Iran are a threat to not just Israel but to the west. They are not any kind of friend of Canada's or the west. Why are you such an Islamic radical supporter? Iran is a state-sponsor of terrorism and one of the most dangerous Islamic theocracies in the world. They brutally suppress their own people, especially women who do not follow their tyrannical decrees about what women shall wear and what they shall do. They have threatened to wipe Israel off the map and call America Satanic. -
Climate change alarmism is not based on "science". I would be happy to see your proof that man is causing excessive climate change. Just saying man is the cause is not science. That is false religion tied to worship of Mother Earth. Darwinism is a false religion that many blindly follow. Yes, man needs to adapt to climate change. Not try to stop it.
