I've thought a lot about this and I think it's a combination of things. 1. I do think it's extremely important for them to be on the "winning" team, so it doesn't matter HOW that team wins. Lie, cheat, steal - it's all fine with them. 2. As seen in the last floor-crossing thread - Liberal supporters have ZERO concern about policy or platform. They vote entirely on whether the candidate has the right "look" and makes the right mouth noises. It can be total word salad, with no substance or specifics - if it sounds "good", they will ask no further questions about HOW things will get done. 3. Liberal supporters are extremely gullible and believe anything the media (which is bought and paid for by their "team") says. Their worldview is that Liberals NEVER lie. Liberal intentions are ALWAYS benevolent. So no statistics, no data, no alternate views, nothing they see with their own eyes matters. When Liberal politicians, who have been in power for 11 years now (the "winning" team!) tell them that everything wrong with the country has nothing to do with them, it's all Harper's fault - they 100% believe it. They are easily swayed by whatever Liberal spin of the day is. Example: Earlier this year and in years prior, even Carney said China was our greatest threat. Now, China is our best friend and the US is our enemy, our centuries long relationship with our next-door neighbour was declared.....OVER. Done. They are now our enemy. Every other nation's experience with China - where China has F*&Ked them over royally and used trade to bully and control - is brushed aside. For some reason, China would never do those things to us. There is no questioning about why our supposed "trade" agreement with China includes allowing them access to our media and our national security. Access to those things has nothing to do with "trade." I've brought those points up repeatedly and they 100% avoid the topic. 4. The media is a huge factor in shaping their views. If Poilievre says something small they don't agree with - there will be 2 weeks of panel after panel after panel discussing a minor gaffe. But Guilbault siphoning $245 million - that's a quarter of a billion dollars 😮 - into his personal business from the Green Slush Fund, only gets a small mention and then is dropped. So major Liberal corruption barely makes a blip on their radar, but they will talk endlessly about how scandalous it was for Poilievre saying women are putting off having children because life has become too expensive. They are very weak-minded. Content to be told what to think. They truly believe the Liberal Party has been a GODSEND to Canada. It's why they keep voting them in. And they will NEVER stop. I believe we will never have another party in power in Canada. Liberals are bringing in 2 million new Liberal voters every year. I don't believe there is ANYTHING that can happen in Canada that will change Liberal supporters' minds. Announced today: The Carney government is opening up a new immigration pathway - they're going to fast-track "foreign military applicants". Some would say that disarming citizens while building a foreign military of people who won't think twice about firing on unarmed civilians, might turn out to be....problematic. They didn't disavow their past direction. I found their platform very vague. "Energy superpower". What did that even mean? NOW we know that means they're going to continue shoveling money into batteries, in spite of the tens of billions we've lost from their last investments that all went belly-up. I wasn't a person who was pooping my pants because the Liberals kept saying the Americans were going to invade us. They didn't discuss immigration, that I heard. So I knew they weren't going to do anything about that. When asked about the drug crisis, Carney said there was no drug crisis in Canada. So I knew they weren't going to do anything about that, either. They expressly said all government jobs were safe, that if Conservatives got in, those jobs would be cut, but THEY would keep those jobs safe. So, no changes to our ballooning expensive bureaucracy. Their election campaign mostly was just firing up fear of Trump.

What I don't understand about the floor-crossers is that the platform of the Conservatives is diametrically opposite to the platform of the Liberals. Liberals want high taxes, high inflation, unsustainable immigration that strains housing, jobs and the economy, high crime because they believe in letting the most violent criminals go free, borrowing & borrowing & borrowing money, creating expensive bureaucracies so they can funnel taxpayer money into their own personal businesses, etc. Conservatives campaigned on the opposite of all of that. Those Conservatives elected who switch to the Liberal platform are a huge betrayal to their constituents. The platforms couldn't be more different. It's the whole reason why Carney had to lie and say he supported some "center" views.

There are 72 projects, with investors still stuck in limbo. The Sisson project that was supposed to start in 2018......they just announced that it now won't start until 2029. "Speeds never before seen." 🙄 If the Conservatives ever get into power, I hope they remember how they defended it because I will put up with NO whining about it then.
