  1. FYI Michael Ma was just given a seat at the Public Accounts Committee table.
  2. YUP. CBC just had a panel talking about some "poll" that shows the majority of Canadians don't even want a trade deal with the US now. So when Carney doesn't get a deal, he can say, Canadians didn't want one. He's sh!tting the bed all over the place.
  3. Well, this is interesting. Carney pitched this idea to Trudeau in 2024: Multi-billion fund involving Brookfield, Ottawa and major pensions being discussed, sources say "The creation of a multi-billion-dollar investment fund seeded with federal government money and designed to attract additional investments from Canada’s large pension plans... ...global investment firm Brookfield Corp. pitched the proposal and could be an investor and possibly manage the fund, with hopes that pooled investment dollars would reach $50 billion." I noticed yesterday when a reporter asked Carney who would be managing the fund, he dodged the question. Note that the original pitch had Brookfield managing it, and seeded from pension funds. Canadian retirees and those about to retire better start paying attention to what's going on in Canada. Literally everything that is being done is related to Brookfield, Carney's green stocks or his EU globalist banker buddies, whom he has already installed in top government positions. I'll take "Things That Are In No Way Surprising" for $25 billion, Alex.
  4. Kitchener MP Kelly DeRidder issues a statement on how she was approached by the Liberals to floor-cross. She also stated the entire story in the HoC, so at least it's on the record. Basically, they're first threatened, then complimented, then they start telling them, if they cross to the Liberals, their ridings will get perks and they will get committee positions or other power with the Liberals. This has nothing to do with the Conservative leadership. This is them TERRIFIED of Poilievre and desperate to gain total power over government.
  5. Liberal supporters: "Let's give these guys another chance!" 🤡 And somehow, this is all Trump's and the Conservatives fault. 🤪 You see the mental gymnastics here every day.
  6. Covering up that it came from a lab leak is not a little thing. Had they been honest about it, we would have known far more about the virus, right away. The fact that Fauci was skirting US gain of function restrictions by off-shoring it to the Wuhan lab in China, then covered it up and then profited from it........ Only id10ts didn't see that this stunk to high heaven, right from the beginning. I'll add that I've taken a beating for many years from id10ts on this board over this, but here I am.....right again. Conspiracy theorists - 100 Id10ts - Zero
  7. I posted about this in the Trickle thread a long time ago. Morens/Fauci emails were subpoenaed and showed they were conspiring to cover up Fauci involvement in the lab leak. He funded the gain of function experiments with Baric and then both of them published an article in the NEJM calling the lab leak a "conspiracy theory". Maybe Fauci will be next.
  8. That's part of why Albertans are voting to leave. It's been talked about in Alberta since the beginning of Confederation. When Canada was set up in the beginning, the East set it up so that they reaped all the benefits and the West's resources were to be used to enrich the East. Alberta has always tried to work this out with Ottawa, but it's been consistently refused. It's just gotten worse and worse over the decades, to the point now that basically the city of Toronto decides who the government is. The Liberal party knows this, so they cater to Ontario and use Alberta's money to do it. Alberta holds no power, but pays all the bills. Canada is so vast that when elections happen, the new government is announced before Alberta numbers are even counted. Or any other province, really. To stay in power, all the Liberals have to do is cater to about 4 or 5 major cities in Ontario & Quebec, so the rest of Canada doesn't matter to them.
  9. It's already that way. The feds take the profits from Alberta, mainly the oil & gas industry and most of it goes to equalization and the rest they pi$$ away. So, no. It sounds like Alberta is not standing for it anymore.🤣 This new SWF slush fund should give us another 10% boost in signers for separation.
  10. Now with Liberal majority (actually, they should only have 51% on committees but they have given themselves 58%) nothing will get done in committees. It's already begun.
  11. It won't end with economics. This is just the economics part. I just posted the line-up of censorship bills on the Master Thread - Carney Agenda. Now with the parliamentary majority, Carney will have complete control over everything in the government. What bills are passed, etc. Even gave themselves a super-majority on the Ethics committee. You think they're going to vote to turn over documents now? Just passed a bill so their emails get automatically deleted after 15 days. Like I say, he's been laying the train tracks for all of this while distracting his pom-pom wavers with Trump tweets and CBC debates on whether Poilievre is fit to lead the Opposition Party.
  12. As soon as Carney got his majority, I knew things were going to move fast. He's been building the cage around Canadians for years, without them even suspecting it. When the door clangs and key turns, it'll be too late. Liberal pom-pom wavers will be stuttering "What's going on?? How could we have known??" 🤡 We're already deep in Venezuela territory now.
  13. None of this should surprise anyone. Carney wrote a whole book on how the state needs to steer the economy so "Values" can be protected. Nationalizing Canada's natural resources has always been his end game. He's been laying the train tracks for this and leveraging pension plans.
  14. Using GIC's as an example, they are general well run. What is critical to their success is their independence from government oversight. They make investment decisions based purely on the merits of the business case. So there is no government manipulation or political ideologies mucking things up. Carney has made it clear that this is not THAT. It will likely reduce competition, since the government will be stacking the deck against those who are not the chosen ones. It's basically the government saying, If you want this approved, give us your profits. So the investors (and Canadians who invest) take all the risks and the government takes the profits from the risk-taking. That sucking sound is the government sucking up pension funds, savings and profits and directing them into a "sovereign investment fund" of government approved projects that will never turn a profit.
  15. Effective regulation is not a privilege that we bargain with the government for. It's something we expect, and are entitled to, as citizens.
  16. You're correct. It's nothing like Norway's. I was surprised he compared it to their's. What I get from the explanations given so far, which are quite vague - it's like a protection racket. It turns the federal government into a mafia that provinces and companies will have to transfer equity to in order to get "regulatory efficiency". I get that from Carney's explanation: Canada has crossed a lot of lines very quickly here.
  17. This non-partisan group has been advocating for a SWF for quite a while and their suggestions for how to do in light of Canada's bad economy, is here: Turn Canada’s Resources into Lasting Wealth See what you think.
  18. Not a meme or cartoon but, remember those diagrams of cell structure that we used to have in school? Now there's this:
  19. Why didn't they just tweak the Canada Infrastructure Bank? Needed another slush fund, is my guess.
  20. Exactly. We're borrowing or printing the $25 billion for it. It's not a Sovereign Wealth Fund. It's a Sovereign Debt Fund. I have a Sovereign Wealth Fund, too. It's called Visa. If I had bottomless contempt for the intelligence level of the average Canadian, I would promise them a high-speed train and a sovereign wealth fund. Actually, I think that was an episode on The Simpsons, wasn't it?
