  1. and your point is? b.t.w. Last year the trade deficit with China was almost $350 billion. Yes it might be a slight improvement on 2015, but that is simply because the US bought about $20 billion less from China, while China bought only $1 billion less from the US. Trade with China is declining, and their purchase of US goods has been declining since 2013.
  2. Should we also blame Trudeau for the Darlington nuclear station built in the 80's? It cost far more than that, and will cost far more in the future.
  3. How many US jobs, and export dollars are those Made in China under General Motors brand automobiles going to create? China is not going to fix Detroit.
  4. Sorry, but I criticize all religions, including Islam. I criticize the immoral practices of people, including Muslims. What I don't do is lump 1.7 billion people into the same barrel and deny them their right because a small subset of a group they share a religion with commit immoral crimes. I don't deny Christians their rights either because of the many immoral acts committed by other Christians. It sounds like you are the one who is infuriated by the repeated and insistent illogical angry arguments you make, without once listening to what others are really saying.
  5. That is because our so called democracy is based on the failed FPTP system. The Conservatives & Liberals have maybe 3-4 times the support of the Green party and regularly get 100% of the power while the Green get next to none. How is that fair?
  6. Canada is the largest export market for the US, and the largest export market for 35 of the states. - Advantage Trudeau. Note that Mexico is the second largest export market for the US, and the trade deficit that Trump likes to complain about is peanuts when compared to China which has a trade deficit 5 times higher than Mexico.
  7. What do you define as 'fringe'? When many of those so called parties poll significantly higher between elections than what they receive during an election we know that many of the people who support them park their vote with one of the established parties because they feel it would be wasted otherwise. That was confirmed when Harper stole the financing for parties based on vote, and focused on something that would allow his party to get even more than the $30 million in annual welfare it receives. The 'fringe' green party has polled near 10% between elections, and the established parties in the 20's and NDP in the teens. That means that the fringe has a significant following compared to the established parties.
  8. Wouldn't it just be a convection oven, or am I missing something?
  9. Do you have any evidence to support either of those contentions? I know we lost billions in the GM bailout, so I doubt the 80% claim. I don't have any information in the Bombardier case, but I have seen claims all over the board (ie. people speculating to support their own theories).
  10. This is beginning to looks like SPAM. Similar posts in many threads, and unrelated to the topic in this case.
  11. Plan B is we send our self identified right-wing "old stock" to the US, and give Trump a chance at his coveted majority. Win-win.
  12. Interesting, but wouldn't an exchange rate develop between tiers? If not official, then on black markets.
  13. Despite being told over and over again that that defending peoples rights is not the same thing as supporting them, you refuse to listen and now have added the 'enthusiastic' qualifier as if that somehow makes your argument any more true.
  14. Yes, our entire economic system needs to be revisited. While it does allow a small percentage of the population to accumulate wealth, it does very little for the masses. The other question you are getting at is the efficiency of the entire system, does competitiveness or cooperation drive more efficiency. We have many examples where competitiveness had allowed the inferior solution to emerge as the winner. Competitiveness also stifles creativity because of the huge hurdles around intellectual property have nothing to do with technology and all to do with legal strength. b.t.w. This topic should be moved to Political Philosophy
  15. He doesn't need to be Presidential, he has a job to do. If he wanted to be Presidential, he could best all of them except maybe Lincoln (yes, I heard him say those exact words).
  16. Shouldn't he sign one of those big photo-op executive orders to put a tariff on Ivanka wear?
  17. On their own people as well.
  18. A lot of us Canadians have been getting free over the air Superbowl since it began, advertising and all. Many border stations have (had) a larger market in Canada then they do in their host cities.
  19. My guess is participating in an on-line forum was a homework assignment from her ESL class.
  20. Why don't those fricken courts just do what they are told, I'm the Prez and they should bow down to me.

    1. Boges

      Boges

It does appear that he'll act like this if anything doesn't go his way.

    2. Omni

      Omni

Any speculation on which way the federal court will rule today?

    3. sharkman

      sharkman

Hands up everyone who has actually read the law that Trump's executive order is based on...anyone?...anyone?

  21. Just turn the clock back a few years and look up the Ottawa protocol, Harper did basically that.
  22. What happened to: d: All of the above
  23. I didn't say that either. Are you really that bad at language comprehension, or are you just trying to provoke a reaction?
  24. You are still not listening. Go back and read what I wrote.
  25. How am I defending Islam. I am simply pointing out that all religions are vile. I never said two wrong make a right, I said two wrongs are two wrongs. If we want to hate Muslims, then we must equally hate Christians. Otherwise, grow up and see that they are mostly just people like you and I.
