  1. Today there is certainly a large problem with hate, including hate crimes, committed against Muslims. That is why it is singled out, just like antisemitism has been singled out many, many, many, many, many times in the past. Why today do we have everyone focused on 'Islamophobia', yet we didn't hear a peep from them in the past. What is their end game?
  2. What specifically in this motion are you referring to? Not your perceived ideas, or total crap spread by the likes of Ezra Levant, but what exactly in the motion do you have a problem with? For those of you who haven't even bothered to read the motion, only listen to the hate mongers here it is: That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) recognize the need to quell the increasing public climate of hate and fear; (b) condemn Islamophobia and all forms of systemic racism and religious discrimination and take note of House of Commons’ petition e-411 and the issues raised by it; and (c) request that the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage undertake a study on how the government could (i) develop a whole-of-government approach to reducing or eliminating systemic racism and religious discrimination including Islamophobia, in Canada, while ensuring a community-centered focus with a holistic response through evidence-based policy-making, (ii) collect data to contextualize hate crime reports and to conduct needs assessments for impacted communities, and that the Committee should present its findings and recommendations to the House no later than 240 calendar days from the adoption of this motion, provided that in its report, the Committee should make recommendations that the government may use to better reflect the enshrined rights and freedoms in the Constitution Acts, including the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
  3. Obviously you don't understand that Bombardier is far from unique in receiving billions of repeated public money. You make a claim that repayment history is poor, but have absolutely nothing to base that on. I am asking for standardized accountability, but you go off and demand only accountability from Bombardier. The auto industry has received far more public support over many decades, and we do have concrete evidence that it has not paid back billions in bailout money. Let's attack the base problem, not just focus in on one instance because you have some particular perceived problem with it.
  4. So accountability is something we must demand of Bombardier only? I am suggesting that accountability for public support for industry be formalized and apply everywhere, including Bombardier.
  5. "The Ottawa Protocol complements what Canada is already doing to combat hatred and discrimination, including anti-Semitism. We are a member of the Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance and Research. Here at home, we have launched programs to promote integration and social cohesion of Canadians from all backgrounds." - Jason Kenney "Signing the Ottawa Protocol signals our continued commitment to leading a coordinated global effort to fight anti-Semitism. Just as Canada is moving ahead to develop and build a National Holocaust Monument in the National Capital Region, we also plan to take our commitment to parliamentarians around the world and suggest that they join us in signing the Protocol." - John Baird I don't remember all the vile hatred, stirred up by the likes of hater in chief Ezra Levant, back in 2010 about the Ottawa Protocol. Did Kenney and Baird receive tens of thousands of pieces of hate mail, including death threats, like Iqra Khalid has received recently?
  6. It is still February, many Presidential cabinets have not been confirmed until March or April including Obama's. Trump is simply whining like a little child.
  7. What`s next, are we going to get a reality star running for President? Not someone we want for their brains, but just to entertain?
  8. Yes, it would be nice if there was easy and available accounting of all government financial assistance to industry. We should know how many billions are fed into the fossil fuel industry, how much that CCS pipe dream cost. We want to know what roads are being built to support mining operations. How the softwood lumber industry is propped up. Most important of all however is how much does the taxpayer spend on cleaning up the toxic waste left behind after the industry closes shop, lays off all employees, and leaves town. Yes, that happens in the resource extraction field, but it also happens in all the heavy industries that once dotted the major cites. What is the real cleanup costs in Montreal, certainly currently visible along the Lachine canal but not also in many other parts of the city.
  9. I have nothing to do with Russia

    I am not a crook

Comparing Trump to Nixon is a nice change, the comparisons to Hitler were getting tiresome.

As I have heard Trump doesn't drink so I wonder what he uses to achieve such chaos.

  10. During Donald Trump's last minute press conference today Trump offered the following alternative fact: "I guess it’s the biggest electoral college win since Ronald Reagan", while the real facts are: Donald Trump 2016: 306 Barack Obama 2012: 332 Barack Obama 2008: 365 Bill Clinton 1996: 379 George H. W. Bush 1988: 426
  11. Trump himself admitted that the leaks were factual.
  12. I guess you are a Constitutional law expert (even though executive privilege is not mentioned in the Constitution). The main point however is that President must prove that he has the right to withhold information, not the other way around. A good summary was written by Mark Rozell.
  13. Coup attempt? Did I miss something, were there tanks in the street? Again I ask you, what do you want Trump to do about his political opponents? Should they have the same fate as Kim Jong Nam?
  14. What about Fox & Friends? Never watched it myself, but the Donald seems to like it.
  15. Nope, Nixon resigned to avoid being impeached. The only two Presidents that were impeached were Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton. There were several other office holders that have been impeached, mostly federal judges. Impeachment however does not mean removal from office, that depends on a 'trial' in the Senate. Both Johnson and Clinton were acquitted by the Senate.
  16. Sorry, but before the recession oil was trading at $65/bbl. Yes, Harper managed to hide his description of the Canadian economy by increasing oil exports during the few years when it soared to over $125/bbl. Please don't try and rewrite history, some of us are actually paying attention.
  17. What are you suggesting? Do you think that the President should overthrow those democratically elected to Congress? Should he jail his political opponents? Just what are you suggesting?
  18. This staying up to watch late night television has to stop. Will someone impeach Donald Trump already.

They're working on getting rid of Trump, but it might take a while so I suggest keep the popcorn supply topped up.

They tried to get rid of Bush too, but he was re-elected instead.

And they found him guilty in the ICC. See the similarities?

  19. On a roll today I see So what do you say to those Las Vegas casinos that return far less of the money to those who play the game, and instead of using that money for charities that try to do good in the world it goes into the pockets of the capitalists. Oh yeah, that is ok because it is not those emotional left wing liberal marxists but rather the cool, rational heads of right wing perfection.
  20. Not at all, I am referring to the backing of private mortgage insurers (what the industry calls reinsurance) by the public. Yes, there was the $120 billion in gifts to the lenders as well, but that is a different issue and happened a year or so later.
  21. It was a free flowing stream alright. I guess the policy hint was that he won and Hilary lost, and he is the greatest, most loving, most non-racist person in the entire world. Now will that black reporter set up a meeting with the Black Congress for him.
  22. Read the book of Judges, at least chapter 1.
  23. I love Fox & Friends, and can take bad news better than anyone. I'd be a pretty good reporter. The facts are real, but the news is fake. I won, why the bad stories. Hillary cheated. The real subject is illegal leaks, but wikileaks are the best. b.t.w., Putin can't do a deal with me because of the press. The reason that Russian ship is there is the American press. Hopefully I won't have to do anything about it, but I'm not going to tell the press.
  24. Did they read the actual study from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne or did they just hear the one point and latched onto it?
