  1. Excellent, you are looking at some of the important issues. I agree the free fall speed is somewhere near 9 seconds and the speed roughly calculated by the videos appears to be a few seconds longer. It boils down to how much additional time is added by resistance from support structure below before it stresses beyond point of breaking. Some points to consider: Do you think that time of resistance would be consistent from the top to the bottom, or as the size and speed of the falling mass above increased would the time decrease? You suggest a number of 0.1 seconds, what do you base that on? Why not 1 second? Why not 0.01 seconds? The building was 110 stories tall, but the initial point of collapse was not the top but about 18 or 28 stories below the top depending on which tower we are talking about. Is the resistance the same at each floor, or is there some structural difference that gives some floors more or less resistance? Certainly the two breaks for mechanical floors had some structural differences, and the exterior curtain wall (which would have little bearing on load support) was in I believe 3 story increments.
  2. Your point? Grad students are supervised by a professor, do you not know how the academic system works? Yes, I expect Richard Gage takes in a lot of donations. Not a bad gig.
  3. The fact is there were 82 voters that were not registered as citizens on their drivers license. They might not have checked off the right box when filling in their drivers license application, they might have acquired citizenship after they got their drivers license, or they might have in fact been fraudulent voters. We do not know which one. We also don't know if they voted in the federal election, or possibly their municipal one. Finally we don't know who they voted for, but chances are good they voted Republican as history seems to verify.
  4. Then tell me if I'm misinformed, who is paying for those grad students? It is clearly identified that A&E Truthers are, and if you go to the web page for the study, most of the links bring you to the A&E Truther site.
  5. Yes, Richard Gage's truther organization has funded a couple of grad students to do some finite element analysis of WTC 7. We will see what they conclude when they actually write their reports. So far the only thing I have seen is the data model for their analysis, and I am not about to download a multi-gigabyte dataset for some software I don't have nor the computer resources to run it on. At least this is a step forward for the truthers, it wasn't long ago that one of Gage's prominent "researchers" (Stephen Jones) was making statements like Building 7 was not even mentioned in the 9/11 Commission's reports. Gage liked to repeat that claim, until it was pointed out to him that if he indeed had read the reports he was criticizing he would find that WTC 7 was in fact discussed.
  6. Yes, but only once. It was Trump's electoral fraud expert Gregg Phillips that was registered in Alabama, Texas and Mississippi. Trump does understand voter fraud alright, even better than Canadians. Other Trump high level administration people registered to vote in multiple states included: Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, Steven Mnuchin, Tiffany Trump, and Jared Kushner.
  7. Why would you need a link, you are the one that brought up the comment about NIST and free fall. Obviously you have the link already. As I stated, it is on page 40 & 41 of the report, that would be section 3.6. In the FAQ it is #11. What clearer citation do you need?
  8. No, i pulled it out of the NIST report you are citing. Did you even read the report, or are you just repeating stuff you read on conspiracy sites?
  9. You are the one quoting NIST, obviously you have the source to be quoting - page 40 & 41. Read it, the details are there as well as in the FAQ they created in 2011 (update 2012). Concerning you blowing up the towers theory, how long did it take to rig the explosives in these 3 towers?
  10. Not me, I'm creeping DoP up and GS down. It seems like someone noticed and is countering my up votes. I guess it is a new month and maybe I should change my policies.
  11. Yes, but her millions in campaign donations did get her the gig.
  12. No they shouldn't. We need a real government that is not afraid to rip up the Mike Harris Electricity Act of 1998 and go back to public utilities instead of vectoring profit to crony friends in private industry. b.t.w. it sounds like the deals are renegotiated for lower cost over longer term. That is like having your $40/month 2-year contract with bell extended into a $33/month 3-year contract.
  13. Yes, anti-semitism is a big problem as is Islamophobia. Someone lit a fire to a Islamic hall in Toronto overnight, and there were bomb threats to Muslim students at Concordia university today.
  14. Let us see. 82 votes cast, how many of those votes were in the federal election? No Trump was making up 3.5 million - something less than 82 alternative facts. We have also seen that so far most of the illegal voters caught have been Republicans.
  15. That is a good question. Vital statistics are completed at the provincial level, so I will use Ontario as an example. The statement of live birth contains the name, place of birth, date, etc. for the child. It also include similar information for the parents, but nothing with respect to citizenship although it does ask for a residence address of one of the parents. Perhaps this is where things need to change. While the statement of live birth is probably filled out by the hospital, the parents are supposed to sign it. Should the hospital be demanding proof of citizenship, and what about those who arrive without any?
  16. There is a difference between a car loan and a service contract. After the loan period is up, you own the car. In a service contract, at the end you need to negotiate a new one or the service stops.
  17. Where do you get the 10 seconds from, did you have some special camera that saw through the massive debris cloud?
  18. I saw several of the candidates say that last night, did you listen?
  19. Other than some spurious commentary by Patrick Brown, how did you arrive at that conclusion? The description was longer term contacts at lower prices. Now the devil is in the details, but it is a very different scenario than you and Brown are spouting.
  20. Yet another out of context quote. Yes, there was a period of near free fall for a part of the structure after lower support columns buckled out of the way and then when more resistance was encountered things slowed down again. The examination of video showed that the 18 story part of the structure that was visible in the building was 40% slower than free fall.
  21. Which is more effective, the carrot or the stick?
  22. The same end doesn't justify the means
  23. Could it be that they are not operating on the same information?
  24. Yes, listen to your team and stick to the script.
  25. Yes, I saw a documentary on it a couple of weeks back. Very nice ship.
