  1. I read some on-line blogs (and probably watched some youtube videos as well), and the Muslims were 'winning' the argument against the Christians and Atheists so I though I would blow something up. That essentially is how Aaron Terrorist was 'radicalized'. What is pathetic is how megalomaniacs use the term 'war' in order to convince the masses that their cause is just. This is no different than the radical Islamic terrorists using the term 'jihad' to support their cause. Donald Trump will be the greatest mass murderer of all time if he is allowed to hold office.
  2. So abortion in the case of non-choice of having sex (ie. rape) is fine by you? There is no foolproof method of birth control, even tubal ligation has an appreciable failure rate.
  3. Natural resources doesn't contribute a cent to our economy, they simply are parasites that extract our natural wealth and move most of it offshore.
  4. As I have stated in another thread, all energy we use is one of three: solar, nuclear, and tidal. Theoretically we also have chemical energy, but most of what we can exploit is derived from solar. I am unaware of any practical method to exploit non-solar derived chemical energy (ie. energy out being greater than energy in). Not sure why Wilber has singled out fusion energy, we have successfully exploited fission energy for power generation. TimG, yes we are using those 100`s of millions of solar energy, but we are using it in a few 100 years. You might consider it `free`, but future générations won`t appreciate your interpretation.
  5. Fossil fuels are solar energy that takes 100's of millions of years to be packaged. Can we find a more efficient method of harnessing solar energy, and preferably one with fewer harmful byproducts per joule.
  6. What possible need would we ever have for a manned aircraft to stay aloft for more than the few hours to get from point A to point B? Not true, new technology has enabled us to extract what was previously impractical.
  7. You're saying there is a big difference between a fully formed fetus and a collection of cells a few hours after conception?
  8. Brilliant observation. We are a nation under the rule of law, and that law of the nation does not make abortion illegal.
  9. The economy is an artificial construct, designed to benefit one group of people. If the economy doesn't benefit all, including future generations, then it is a farce.
  10. Electricity is an extremely inefficient method of home heating. I have no problem with discussing the need for building a diversified power grid, I am simply pointing out the tunnel vision of those that oppose renewable power, and use terms like 'green nonsense'. Remember, we have only 3 power sources: Nuclear, Tidal, and Solar. Most of the other sources are simply exploiting solar. Photovoltaic - solar with zero latency Wind - solar with latency in hours/days Hydro - solar with latency in days/weeks Fossil fuel - solar with latency in hundreds of millions of years
  11. Heat waves are limited in northern latitudes as well.
  12. Yes, a very interesting article that points out that wind and heat waves are incompatible. It conveniently however forgets to mention that solar and heat waves are extremely compatible. You should consider the sources you read first.
  13. Absolutely, free trade is trading away our future so some rich guy with the politicians in his back pocket can make another billion. Put import duties of 10000000000% on everything.
  14. Why all this hubbub over restrooms. The only reason we have gender based restrooms is because about 50% of the population can pee standing up. We should have unisex restrooms, with a urinal alcove.
  15. Interesting dynamic
  16. The solution is simple. Stop the corporate welfare. The oil companies can put up a $100 trillion environmental security bond, and then we can talk about getting oil to market. How many thousand improperly decommissioned oil wells are there in Alberta because the industry found it cheaper to continue paying leases than properly closing down the wells?
  17. Yes, the first sentence of some trash piece pseudo-journalism was quoted. Give us the actual court filing, not trash.
  18. The Americans should be compensating Canada and other nations for all the wars they started or escalated and the burden that has placed on our economies.
  19. Is petting your dog considered a sex act? What about all those old ladies who kiss their dogs? Please tell us what the boundaries are.
  20. Just as a matter of comparison, 200,000 litres is the contents of two rail cars.
  21. We spend 10% more than the US according to that table. Are you saying we spend too much on fancy equipment instead of personnel? Should we have a large infantry instead?
  22. More appropriately the leaders are well protected, so even if they are the target they can't be reached. There have been several attempts at the Whitehouse in recent years, May 20'th of this year by Jesse Oliveri is the latest on I am aware of. That doesn't mean that all protection efforts have worked, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords being a US example and MP Jo Cox from the UK.
  23. I see the quotes, but I can't find the original that you quoted.
  24. With Theresa May, and the remote possibility of Donald Trump, we may yet see a nuclear war.
  25. Ivanka Trump for President. Her introduction speech was well done, I almost believed her.

Trump is a wildcard who will continue to break "the rules".
