  1. Of course, I link to Associated Press, you link to Huffington Post. What, was the Daily Kos not available?
  2. Obama Supporter Bits Off Protester's Finger O'Hanlon says the man got into an argument and fist fight, during which he bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man who opposed health care reform. AP
  3. Or reality, if you're not a disciple of Dear Leader. Roubini Sees Increasing Risk of Double-Dip Recession Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Nouriel Roubini, the New York University professor who predicted the financial crisis, said the chance of a double-dip recession is increasing because of risks related to ending global monetary and fiscal stimulus. Roubini currently expects a U-shaped recovery, where growth will be “anemic and below trend for at least a couple of years,” he said. Bloomberg Happy times are here again! All hail The Messiah! Nevermind they explicitly stated that passing their porkulus bill would prevent unemployment from rising above 8%. It's now almost 10%. But we should all be greatful for Dear Leader's efforts. Cause nobody else could have equalled such "accomplishments." LOL. You guys are stenographers for the White House. I hope you're being paid well. No doubt from stimulus money.
  4. One could do absolutely nothing, and the deficit will shrink substantially with a growing economy, instead of a shrinking one. The recession is WHY there's a deficit. But let's not have facts get in the way of Ignatieff's talking points.
  5. That's quite a high bar you've set for your Messiah. As long as the stimulus isn't a total failure, all praise the One! Alrighty.
  6. Not to mention the fact that Obama claimed the passing of his stimulus would prevent unemployment from rising above 8%. It's now almost 10%, which doesn't really jive with the premise of this thread.
  7. Perhaps I need to remind you of what's contained in the article... But there's little agreement about which programs are having the biggest impact. Some economists argue that efforts such as the Federal Reserve's aggressive buying of Treasury debt and mortgage-backed securities, as well as government efforts to shore up banks, are providing a bigger boost than the administration's $787 billion stimulus package Especially considering a very small percentage of the stimulus has actually been spent.
  8. Democratic Advantage in Party Affiliation Shrinks PRINCETON, NJ -- In August, an average of 45% of Americans identified as Democrats or leaned to the Democratic Party, while 40% identified as Republicans or leaned to the Republican Party. This 5-point advantage represents a decided narrowing of the gap between the parties from the 17-point Democratic advantage in January. Gallup Wow, a 17 point decline since January! Way to go Barry! Keep up the good work.
  9. That's not true.
  10. Nice try. But there's little agreement about which programs are having the biggest impact. Some economists argue that efforts such as the Federal Reserve's aggressive buying of Treasury debt and mortgage-backed securities, as well as government efforts to shore up banks, are providing a bigger boost than the administration's $787 billion stimulus package.
  11. Yep, but nobody else does that.
  12. If you mean the elimination of tax dollars to all political parties (even Conservatives), that could be otherwise used for healthcare and education, then yes. But that's far different from the Liberal money scandals of the past, and apparently present.
  13. That may be the case, but the Canadian people will know that it was Ignatieff who called for the election. Not Harper. Plain and simple.
  14. Yeah, because it's not as though the federal Liberals have ever been involved in any type of funding/money scandals, right?
  15. NY Rep. Charles Rangel didn’t disclose assets in 2007 NEW YORK — New York Rep. Charles Rangel is facing more questions over his personal finances after an amended report he filed this month shows he failed to disclose up to $500,000 in assets in 2007. An amended report to his 2007 Congressional disclosure form indicates that Rangel’s assets include a checking account with a balance between $250,000 and $500,000. Rangel is the powerful chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, which writes the tax code. Boston Herald OOPS! CHARLIE FORGOT THIS $1M HOUSE WASHINGTON -- Rep. Charles Rangel failed to report as much as $1.3 million in outside income -- including up to $1 million for a Harlem building sale -- on financial-disclosure forms he filed between 2002 and 2006, according to newly amended records. The documents also show the embattled chairman of the Ways and Means Committee -- who is being probed by the House Ethics Committee -- failed to reveal a staggering $3 million in various business transactions over the same period. NY Post The most ethical congress ever! Pelosi: "We intend to lead the most honest, the most open and the most ethical Congress in history".
  16. And it seems so is the sanity of Michael Ignatieff and the Liberal party.
  17. That's ridiculous. Universal healthcare (somebody else paying for your care) is not a right, it's a privilege. Sure, there are things that are necessary, like assisting catastrophic medical issues that arise. However, there are also things that private healthcare can provide better and less expensive. And the countries with the best healthcare seem to be hybrid systems, which allow for public and private coverage. And for the love of God, please keep the United Nations out of the way democracies decide to run their countries. That may be the worst suggestion I've ever heard uttered in this forum. No, it's not "retarded" at all. Medicare is 34 trillion dollars in the hole. So complaining about a government run system that is monumentally bankrupt, is completely logical.
  18. Yes, unemployment usually increases for a period of time, even though a recession has technically ended. It's always happened, and it makes complete sense if one has a good grasp of how economies work, and how job creation works. Businesses don't tend to rehire and expand on the first sign of growth. They look for a longer period growth than just a few months, and are always cautious.
  19. Yes, you're exactly right. Recessions are often over as employment lags behind.
  20. More evidence the Dems are in huge trouble. Their savior is falling from the sky faster than a comet. The latest Zogby Interactive poll of 4,518 likely voters conducted from August 28-31 found 48% disapprove and 42% approve of the job Obama is doing. Zogby A 42% approval rating!
  21. Gee, I thought this topic would go in a completely different direction. How to become ignorant 101? 1) Use only the Koran as your principle source of learning. 2) Subjugate woman in all matters of society. 3) Deny freedom and human rights to your citizens.
  22. I don't think it's irrelevant. That incident just reflects the overall attitude Liberals have toward the people they should be working for. It's a "get outta my way" type attitude, where they think their rightful place is in power.
  23. Far better than they were in America. That's a fact. Our financial system wasn't near collapse. Our housing market wasn't near collapse. And in terms of the recession, it's been the shortest recession in the last several decades. So take your "end of the world" fear somewhere else.
  24. Team Jackpot axed Expense scandal topples lottery corporation's CEO and entire board, McGuinty orders probe of all provincial agencies Duncan released five large binders containing the Tories' request on OLG expenses. The binders hold pages of receipts for such expenses as a lavish $3,713.77 dinner and The Sound of Music night for 38 people. Many of the entertainment expenses include alcohol charges. There are government rules and regulations surrounding liquor expense claims. In 2007, the OLG asked for an exemption from those rules, but it was refused. Sources say the liquor expenses are part of the reason Duncan asked the auditor general to investigate. The Star Not only have the Liberal's ruined our economy in Ontario, but also they have the nerve to use tax dollars to live life to "the fullest." It's the same old song and dance from them.
  25. I know, I know, you keep posting because eventually, you'll be right about something! And don't worry, we're all waiting for that day.
