Massachusetts Senate Race

This is what real sexism sounds like! RCP Apparently to Sen. Specter, it's unlady-like to voice your opinions. Interesting, I've never heard him insist on a male counterpart to "act like a gentleman" when he feels he's being interupted. Oh well, Specter's done in Pennsylvania anyways. Republicans pick up another seat. -

Scott Brown in against partial-birth abortion, and against late-term abortion. I'm not sure how you construe from that that he's more pro-choice than Ted Kennedy, who was for no restrictions on abortion. But keep spinning, it's fun to watch. This guy Scott Brown really got under your skin huh? I think it's what pro-child rapists deserve. -
I keep hearing, and have heard, especially through the media over the last year or so, just how smart Obama is, especially compared to other Presidents. I'm beginning to wonder. At some point, we should see evidence of his so-called brilliance, no? Instead, he comes across as no smarter than the former peanut farmer President he most resembles. He may indeed be very smart. But he sure hasn't acted nor governed that way.

Not 100% his fault? Did someone force copious amounts of alcohol down his gullet? Did someone force him to drive after consuming said alcohol? Did someone force him to flee the accident scene, and not report it for several hours? It's been hypothesized that Mary Jo Kopechne would have had enough oxygen in the car to remain alive for an hour, maybe two. But thanks to Ted, she remained in the car and drowned, while he was back at the cottage, with family and friends, while a perfectly good telephone remained unused. As for Scott Brown, I thought his joke regarding his daughter was funny and sweet. It's sad that she's had to come to his defense because of sore liberal losers who can't get over their titanic defeat on tuesday. It's also sad that they continue to push a meme that doesn't correlate with what he said at the particular rally in question. But, if anything, a pro-child rapist probably does deserve to have a curling iron shoved up her butt. Maybe she'd finally have some sympathy for the 23-month old in question, and in the future, pursuit proper justice from the beginning. -
Cindy McCain - pro Gay Marriage

What does his pro gay marriage stance have to do with Wyoming? -
Russia Today: Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez has once again accused the United States of playing God. But this time it's Haiti's disastrous earthquake that he thinks the U.S. was behind. Spanish newspaper ABC quotes Chavez as saying that the U.S. navy launched a weapon capable of inducing a powerful earthquake off the shore of Haiti. He adds that this time it was only a drill and the final target is ... destroying and taking over Iran. Link Quick Hugobots, defend your hero!

Yes, a woman killed by the late so-called great Ted Kennedy. Drunk, sexist, and murderer. -

Wow, I didn't think you'd be this dishonest. It's pretty sad, but if that's what you need to do to help get over this colossal defeat, then by all means, go for it. But speaking of sexism. Was there any senator more of a sexist than ol'Teddy Kennedy? His famous waitress sandwiches with Chris Dodd. And then of course, he killed Mary Jo, who drown while he ran back home and showered and relazed for the evening. I guess you brush all that aside huh? LOL. -

Then why do you continue to lie about what he actually said? You keep saying he said, we can do that, when he didn't. -
Can you please stop lying? She created the position of city administrator, and reduced her own $68,000 salary by 10%. Palin kept a jar with the names of Wasilla residents on her desk. Once a week, she pulled a name from it and picked up the phone; she would ask: "How's the city doing?" Palin cut property taxes by 75% and eliminated personal property and business inventory taxes. Using municipal bonds, she made improvements to the roads and sewers, and increased funding to the Police Department. Her first legislative action after taking office was to push for a bipartisan ethics reform bill. She signed the resulting legislation in July 2007. Sarah Palin has pushed oil companies to move faster with projects to expand oil and gas production. She is widely credited with reviving a long-stalled effort to build a natural-gas pipeline from Alaska's Prudhoe Bay energy fields to the Lower 48 states. And In a state that is dependent for its operating revenue on taxes and energy royalties paid by oil companies, she has negotiated with the state's big producers, Exxon Mobil Corp., BP PLC and ConocoPhillips for better deals for Alaska. Yes, other than all of that, she had no accomplishments. As oppose to Obama, who voted present several times while in Illinois.

Plus the video clearly shows him saying we can do this, not we can do that. You're just making things up to fit your pathetic projection. You're quite the sore loser. -

it was in direct relation to Palin's lipstick comment from her convention speech. You don't know that. He's in a crowd of hundreds of people and you think we can do it is in reference to the curling iron comment. You're lying. It's pathetic. -

LOL, he didn't say we can do it to that comment. Nice spin. However, Obama did say in relation to Sarah Palin, putting lipstick on a pig during the campaign. And remember his racist remarks about voters clinging to guns and religion? He didn't say anything demeaning. Do you know what demeaning means? He was making joke. When did liberals lose all sense of humour? LOL -

That is complete bullshit and pure projection. His campaign theme was smaller government, killing Obamacare, and keeping taxes low. Only somebody mentally retarded could read sexism into that. Coakley lost because she's a miserable failure as a candidate, and nobody in Mass wants Obamacare. -
Russia diversifies into Canadian dollars Russia’s central bank announced on Wednesday that it had started buying Canadian dollars and securities in a bid to diversify its foreign exchange reserves. “If it is a barometer for the activity of other central banks, then its is structurally positive for the currencies of countries like Canada and Australia that have a commodity bias in their economies,” he said. Although not officially confirmed, traders said that other emerging market central banks, including some in Asia which hold large foreign exchange reserves, have also been active in the foreign exchange market in recent weeks buying both Canadian dollars and Australian dollars. FT This is a great illustration of how Canada is well positioned in the global economy, not only now, but for the future. There are quite a lot of Canadian economic pessimists in this forum, constantly posting our so-called terrible situation and demise. This clearly shows them to be completely partisan fools, cheering for their own political interests, and not for the good of our country.

Yes, except for George W Bush in 2002 and 2004. But the Dems are in even bigger trouble. They've controlled Congress for almost 4 years now, and by November it'll be almost 2 years of White House control. Not only will they historically lose seats, they'll also be held responsible for the crappy economic situation that exists, and the fact that they've done little to improve it. Obama punted on the economy for the holy grail of healthcare reform. After all, he only recently held a jobs summit, some 9 months after he took office. -
There's an interesting dynamic at play when it comes to Palin and Obama. When it comes to Obama, everyone puts more weight into what he said and says, especially during speeches and interviews, than his actual political record and political actions. When it comes to Palin, everyone again puts more weight into her speeches and interviews, rather than her actual record in office, as mayor and governor. When you compare the two records, she's head and shoulders above Obama. She has many more real accomplishments. But people like to ignore all of that, and instead focus on one or two interviews. I think because it reinforces their own biases. It's a shame, becaues actions always speak louder than words. Palin has actions and accomplishments, while Obama has just words, and more words, backed up with even more words. Yet she's supposidly the idiot, and he's supposidly the geninus. All I know, it that one of them got things done, and one of them hasn't. Who's really the genius and/or idiot?

Harper to prorogue parliament AGAIN?
Shady replied to DrGreenthumb's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Quite the opposite. He prorogued parliament to protect Canadians from the first coalition government that would have included seperatists, who's sole purpose is to break up the country. And he prorogued parliament the second time, to save the Canadian military from political attacks from the opposition parties. Who seem to hold Canada responsible for the roughing up of some terrorists by a foreign government. Pathetic. In both cases, the majority of Canadians are on the side of the conservative government. Despite what groups highschool and college students may join on facebook. -
That'll be Senator or Representative simpleton Palin if she chooses to run for a seat in Congress.

How Clinton handled his defeat on healthcare
Shady replied to Bugs's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Obama should try to pass widely popular healthcare reforms. Like pre-existing condition coverage, eliminating anti-trust exemption, and allowing people to purchase health insurance across state lines. However, I don't think he'll do much if any of that. He seems to have a cowboy mentality of do it my way or no way.
