You don't mention it's to save money from the lawsuits resulting from the actions of the Trump administration. Why is that? You didn't know or you're dishonest?

Don’t come to a country illegally. And legally you can’t put children and adults in the same holding facilities when there is no actual proof that the children belong to the adults.  We’ve already been over this before and you continue to ignore it.  They’re compensation should be plane tickets back to their own countries.  This is only going to incentivize more mass migration. The border situation is already a complete disaster thanks to Joe Biden.

The fact is the Trump administration left them vulnerable to lawsuits they are likely to lose. Settlements are always a cost-saving measure.
