That seems to me what she's implying. Of course if they forced homeless people into homeless shelters and/or institutions the same people would cry bloody murder about that. In Toronto the homeless industry is huge. I'm sure if there were no homeless, then a lot of people would be unemployed.

From what I hear from people that support the "Occupy Movement" the goal is to make governments react to them. They want to be forcibly removed because they think it will allow them to cry foul. They can't realistically think camping out in parks are going to make "fat cats" give a shit. The one percent are laughing at them, while they're counting their money.

Perhaps I should have named the thread more clearly. The event in question wasn't to happen on Remembrance Day. Apparently the Board of Education mandates Remembrance Day Ceremonies to happen. This event was to happen the day before. Education on what happened in times remembered on Remembrance Day. Another poster seemed to highlight why they bring military hardware earlier in this thread. You can inject your thoughts as to why it shouldn't be needed. I even think they are somewhat valid. But the reason's I've heard why the guns AND military vehicles (Not tanks BTW) were not welcomes this year were because of a no guns policy. Which as I said is dogmatic absolutism akin to suspending a child for bringing a plastic butter knife to school. And because some nebulous report of children from other countries that find war imagery traumatic. Both of these reason I find wanting. IMHO.

Well I'll flip that on it's head. What reason should the guns be removed in the first place? There is none, unless you think it's glorifying violence. Which I think is patently absurd. I think this is the 3rd time I've said this. Why do people go to museums? To see historical things up close. This is similar to that but the museum is being brought to the kids.

Jobs figures have been doing pretty well all year.. No credit to the CPC or people say they are just McJobs. One bad Jobs months, it's all Harper's fault.

Maybe after WW1 they didn't want to glorify or give anyone credit for it because it was a gigantic waste of time, energy and lives. But WW2 has it's definite heroes, and great victories that we should remember and revere what the west was able to do in the face of evil.

So then why do we learn about Passchendale, Vimy Ridge, D-Day, Battle for Caen, the Liberation of Holland etc and celebrate those event. Can't tell you a famous Canadian General but Generals Montgomery, Patton, Bradly, MacArthur, Eisenhower were all celebrated for their war victories.

I guess the poor people of Caledonia have seen that first hand.

They just started a rookie goalie and got 38 saves out of him. Gustavson has been fine and there's no reason the believe Reimer has lost anything from last year when he comes back from his injury. They have a problem now because they have to many decent goalies. Even if Lupul or Kessel disappear you got MaCarthur, Graboski, Lombardi and this new kid Crab that are all producing their fare share of offense.

Like em or hate em. They're Canada's team. And as of November 4th they're tied with Pittsburgh for tops in the Leage. They have 2 of the top 5 offensive players in the league and as of last night with Ben Scriven's amazing performance, they have 3 Quality Goaltenders. Are the Leafs for real?

How about the Mohawk Warriors starting a huge bondfire in the middle of this park. Is that cool? The city of Toronto is so litigious about requiring permits for everything but not requiring one for this. I also like how no one cares about those 99%er businesses around the area, that are no doubt losing business because no one in their right mind would go to this park for a nice leisurely walk.
