That's the most bone-headed thing I've ever read in my life. The proper course of action would have been to sue them. But instead you Fubared you're credit rating to make a point. Good Job!

You clearly need it if you got foreclosed on. Why would it be OK for you to be insured by a 3rd party? They're the ones left holding the bag if you default. I suspect Mortgage Insurance is one of the things that kept Shit from hitting the fan in Canada. You know those regulations Left-wingers love. Did you seek Mortgage insurance elsewhere?
-
You actually agreed to a sub-prime mortgage? BTW how is mortgage insurance illegal? CMHC forces you to get it if you don't have a 20% down payment, and if you had 20% you wouldn't need a sub-prime mortgage. Or are you American?

Look the Occupy supporters are fighting. (Grabs Popcorn) The true protesters may not want violence but similar to the G20 I'm sure they've been infiltrated by people that want to use violence.
-
Even if I did I wouldn't share it on a messageboard.

cite? I think people are sympathetic with the idea the Middle Class is under attack but not in agreement with these methods of protesting it.

Didn't drag em out. Just got rid of their tents. They can stay but can't use the park as a campground anymore. It's probably how these things have to be broken up. I didn't even know there was an Occupy London, Ontario.

Classy of you to typecast employees who's union can't hide demands of higher taxes for more revenue as being brainless. Lots of sectors are having problems. Would you say the same about Auto workers who were forced to give major concessions? Unionized Steel Workers who go on strike and their corporate overlords pretty much laugh? Forestry workers? Any number of unionized manufacturing jobs that have been lost? This isn't a Union vs non-Union thing. It's a private v public sector thing. The truth is, in my industry, the union jobs go first because they are more expensive and their divisions are usually so overstaffed that cutting is easy. One sector where you don't see a massive problem with employment and wages is the skilled trades. Unionized or not. Why? because there is demand for their skills.
-
You really think that's what's at work in this instance and not a Union that demands more than the public can pay? You're making blanket statements about the problems faced in all of the Western World. That's not exactly the case here these workers get benefits not seen by many in the working force even before this latest recession.

The fact is there are some jobs that aren't nearly as valuable as they used to be. But their are jobs that are valuable. People have to evolve. In this socialized country we live in the government offers help for people who find their line of work downsized or obsolete.

What job other than public service unions haven't had to deal with those realities? I don't like it. I don't like that jobs in my industry are going to India. What makes garbage workers in the City of Toronto so special?
-
Not that much. I did see that after I posted. My bad.

It's a difficult problem to confront. Not sure what the answer is. Ironically neither do the people that are camping out in public parks all over the world. But a policy like this makes it impossible for a work force to evolve and make efficiencies. No private company could even think about putting this in their collective agreement. Why is it that a public union is allowed to have a policy like this?

http://www.torontosun.com/2011/11/07/union-brawl-for-city-hall Not even so called "1 percenters" get that kind of perk. I heard it explained on the radio. If you have 10 years of tenure and management decides your job isn't needed anymore they are required by law to find you another job within the city. Sure that would be nice if we all had that kind of job security but c'mon even left-wingers on this board have to concede that a job perk like this isn't good. Oh and I like how this Dooshnozzle Ferguson complains that he has to temporarily layoff his seasonal staff.

I also think the ratio of Walkers:Survivors has to be considered. If the virus/disease is widespread and takes out say 3/4 or more of the population in the first week then in theory if you can stay alive there should be enough resources to go around for quite sometime.Zombies don't raid pantries, gun depots or gas stations. That's why the main characters in both 28 days and Walking dead had similar narratives. You're in a coma and people forget about you and you awaken when most of the bad stuff has already happened. A very unbelievable part of 28 Days Later was that even a months after the outbreak you didn't see many people dead or alive or infected in the streets of London. At least in the Walking Dead you knew a great deal of the walkers were centred in Atlanta because that's where they were told to go.

JoPa: So Jerry what are those condoms and stawberry wine for. Jerry: Oh nothing it's just for my own personal use. JoPa: Why are there 10 year old boys always in your office? Jerry: Hey Fuck you Joe, quit getting in my bidness! They're future recruits duh! -
Don't Read this comment if you plan on reading the comic. I just finished Trade paperback 11 and the group comes across some hunters that eat humans. But they don't just kill the humans they cut off limbs to keep the person fresh. When Rick and his group (most of which haven't been introduced yet) catch them they torture and kill them slowly. As sick as it might sound, it's a very satisfying part of the series. As for practical tactics in a Zombie Apocalypse: I live out in the burbs of Toronto. I would go as far away from the city as I could. A major city is totally dependent on daily imports. That stops you start running out of food in a week if not less. Especially with all these organic hipsters that think preservation tactics are bad for you. That many people in small space, it'd be chaos. If you could protect a rural farm like Herchel's farm it would be ideal (I know of one in Horse country). BUT the Walking Dead comics also highlight the problem of stayin at one spot. If zombies are randomly walking a loud noise like a gun shot will immediately attract them. They all follow each other and you get a herd like we saw in the season premiere. If a herd finds your farm you'd need a back up plan fast cuz you're fucked, they won't leave.

WAHHHHHH we have to change our clocks back twice a year. Getting up at 7:30 and still seeing no sunlight in October sucks. Apparently if we didn't do the Spring forward thingy in the summer you'd start seeing the sun at 4 am. I much prefer having that sunlight at 9pm than 4am just saying. I'm totally cool with this practice.

Herchel has a barn full of Zombies that the group is supposed to find, which will be cool when they show it. I'm freakin sick of them looking for that girl Sophia.
