Sorta like how the CBC uses taxpayer money to do go to people's home and harass them?
-
I think the comic is great. A lot more fast paced than this show. But to claim "believability" about a show about Zombies is pretty funny. I don't think that's the point. This new character Herchel is very interesting. Darryl is a very intriguing character considering who his brother is. So is Dale, he's sorta like my Father-in-Law.

According to Newtalk 1010 this morning former Mayor David Miller was really peeved that one of their producers called his home. I don't think Mayor Ford was really afraid, I just think he wanted to stick it these people that think it's cool to go to people's house and make fun of them.

CBC leads 'get the facts' attack on Quebecor

Is that Battle of the Blades or Little Mosque on the Prairies. Does going to a mayor's home display a shared national consciousness? How about buying Cornation's Street, Jeoparty and Wheel of Fortune? How can you not differentiate in your mind public money that's available to everyone. G4TV Canada, Food Network Canada, Nat Geo Canada, Slice, Global, CTV, City, MTV Canada, CBC, Quebecor etc. And money that's only given to the CBC to fulfill a specific mandate. -
Well other than the fact that it's not funny at all. When she's done this thing in the past it's the first time, I can recall, they've gone to a private residence to do it. Sorta like when The Star sent a reporter to the Ford's cottage during Pride week. Stay classy left-wing media.

I'm curious what shows you like. Again I can't argue with your opinions. I'll just respectfully disagree. But zombie shows really aren't about the zombies. It's about how people react to the zombies.

Good job spending of that federal money CBC. Go harass a guy at his home in front of his kid. You know they do that in the private sector in the US a lot more effectively. It's called TMZ.

CBC leads 'get the facts' attack on Quebecor

Quebecor doesn't receive 1.1 billion in federal money that's supposed to go to contributing "to shared national consciousness and identity" whatever that means. -
CBC leads 'get the facts' attack on Quebecor

Well the debate here isn't that the CBC shouldn't get that money, that's a debate we can have though. But if they get that money for being the National broadcaster then that makes them a Crown Corp and subject to Freedom of Information requests which they've refused on many occasions to comply with. CBC themselves brought this issue issue of what Quebecor gets in money that's available to all broadcaster. They probably should have just kept their mouths shut because this "get the facts" thing makes them look bad. -
More unsubstantiated claims by olph1fan.

Elitist opinion from you? No way! Perhaps you could give a few reasons why it's so horrible. Even though there's no real debate for taste.

There's a pretty rare opinion http://www.times-herald.com/local/AMC-s--Walking-Dead--earning-big-ratings--1895594

CBC leads 'get the facts' attack on Quebecor

Especially when considering CBC got money from that same fund, above and beyond their $1.1 billion handout. You really think their case is equally as effective if they disclosed that Quebecor contributes about as much as they receive from the government? -
Both episodes last night were excellent. Walking Dead first Boardwalk second, No Question. Then you watch this talk show called Talking Dead afterwards.

No they said Qubecor got $500 mil over 3 years, not annually. So it's not even that close. Plus as we've found out, they also put money into the pot that broadcasters take from. If the CBC was forced to be privatized (which I don't see happening anytime soon) They would just have be more careful with the money they do collect. I know it's an anecdote but there's an afternoon talk radio host named Jim Richards in Toronto (Newstalk 1010) that was talking about how CBC Radio hosts get a different show producer for every day of the week. So there's a person on the CBC's payroll that's only responsibility is to produce one radio show a week, according to him. No I can't prove that. But with these freedom of information requests, I'm guessing Quebecor is trying to expose that CBC is not being good stewards of the taxpayer money they receive, above and beyond what everyone else can apply for. -
Sure. Murder is murder. It's like a hate crime. Why should a crime have an additional punishment tacked on because it was rationally motivated or because the victim was gay. But deaths like this provide a warning about how Muslim women in this country should be treated.
-
Sure people of all faiths do things that are totally horrible. The difference with this is that similar treatment of women is lauded in much of the Muslim world. It's rare in Canada which is good, but we should be use this incident as a warning. This event isn't morally equal to say a crime of passion that comes from a domestic incident. It was far more insidious. People who come to this country should know that treating women as possessions is totally unacceptable in the West. Europe is having lots of trouble trying to assimilate Muslims with similar views of this man to their society.

I would appear CBC's little melt on their website didn't reveal some important information. http://www.torontosun.com/2011/10/21/quebecor-hits-cbc-with-lawsuit-notice If that's true, the CBC is guilty of committing libel against Quebecor, no question. -
Yeah Bubber I think you're confusing Content Creators with the Network. The only content Networks create are news and sports, which are things that aren't often DVR'd.

Well you're simply worse than Hitler.

You have to know that if the CBC was forced to release the information Quebecor wants them too it'll be beyond embarrassing for them. I bet even if courts told them to release the information they won't. -

Yeah it's totally disingenuous to compare tax rebates and credits that all broadcasters are allowed to apply for and the 1.1 billion the CBC gets handed to them each year. -
[quote name='Hydraboss' date='21 October 2011 - 07:30 AM' is anyone going to comment on the "get a new motorhome" idea? How about a silencer for some of those guns? (can be made with a pop bottle, a rag/insulation, and some duct tape if necessary) And going back to season 1, why the hell are people sleeping in tents? Sleep in the damn vehicles if there are dead people walking around. I would. And steal some better vehicles...every one of those cars and suv's on the highway in the season 2 premiere had the frickin keys in it. Is this really rocket science? In the comic book they do go to a gun store, not sure how widely available silencers are though. And when they are forced to leave a gated community they thought was safe they all stayed in the mobile home which was kinda of hard for them all to fit in. Until of course they reach the farm that should be highlighted in this coming Sunday's episode. I think the bigger question about the cars on the road is what killed the people inside them. It clearly wasn't the zombies. I see some wider story at play here.

So Greed is OK when it comes from people that are ignorant of the old saying "Live within your means". But it's unacceptable when people sell said people bad loans knowing they'll make out like a bandit. Both parties are to blame here.
