  1. The East? You think people in Ontario really give a rats ass about Quebec and the Maritimes?
  2. Did she flinch when she had to pledge allegiance to the Queen?
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf5-Prx19ZM&feature=player_embedded "I heard the connector is all digital! What does that even mean!!!!"
  4. See that's where you lose all credibility. If anyone is racist it's Quebecors and their intolerance of people who don't speak French.
  5. Stand alone Mp3 players are a passing fad. And enhanced mp3 players like the iPod touch are rather irrelevant. Again you pretty much have to buy a smartphone from carriers now. All phones play mp3's now. The Super/Smartphone will soon take the place of your wallet. It's already replaced several devices people uses to have all in one product. If you're one of those people that can't afford a smartphone, I saw an mp3 player at the checkout line at a grocery store recently. I think it was $20. The really shitty thing about iPods is that it requires iTunes to load music. I can load music on my Android phone straight from my browser wirelessly. For the really cheap mp3 players all you need to do is click drag and drop like a flash drive.
  6. Yet they still accept equalization payments. Hypocrites much.
  7. Wait are you talking about the constitution or the Charter of Rights and Freedoms? That thing PET brought us that we really didn't need 30 years ago.
  8. You mean Quebec?
  9. One seat in Winnipeg. Leftist win a lot of seats in Downtown Toronto and Vancouver? Of course they do those were safe Liberal/NDP ridings before the election. The fact that populated suburbs went overwhelmingly to the CPC was the accomplishment of that election.
  10. There's a reason those ridings are huge. Very few people live in them. Northern BC, Northern Manitoba, and Northern Ontario and Quebec. Except for Atlantic Canada the rest of that map is Blue.
  11. Having a Touch and an iPhone is beyond redundant. Downloading music on iTunes sucks. You can't use it for other purposes, I'd rather use Amazon. (if I'm not using a bittorrent that is. Yeah you can download bittorrents on Android Phones because they are awesome!) It was a pain to have it and my older phone in the same pocket. Also after about a couple of years, the earphone jack stopped working properly.
  12. You'd have to cite what you're referring to. I'm not talking about Harper anyway.
  13. I think it's a spit in the face of the ROC. If Quebec wants respect from the ROC this is the worst thing they could do.
  14. http://o.canada.com/2012/09/17/maple-leaf-taken-down-again-from-quebec-legislature-with-pq-entering-office/ I'm actually rather offended by this. Quebec gets a lot of money from the ROC and Miss Marois wants Stephen Harper to give them more. The more they do crap like this the more anti-Quebec sentiment will grow and any separation talk will be met with a loud "Meh, don't let the Labrador hit you on the way out"
  15. Without a 2 party system, receiving a majority is very difficult. We haven't seen a legit federal majority federally since Mulroney. At least with FPTP you know in order to get a majority you need a broad support across the country or province. The NDP can't win an election by winning a vast majority of Quebec while having limited support elsewhere.
  16. Most definitely! it was quoting what I said below. It was a technical problem. I meant to quote your post about losers winning. The error has been fixed. I apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused.
  17. Sort of like how the Liberals came one seat from a majority even though they only beat the PCs by 2 percentage points in the popular vote? FPTP's flaws works both ways. These poll results show that the NDP don't have a broad support amongst the province. They may just be wildly popular in certain parts of the province. (cough Hamilton, Windsor, Northern Ontario and Downtown Toronto)
  18. This work to rule campaign is only going to make the teachers enemies. It'll make their lives harder not easier.
  19. That's why the other system MCC proposed is kind of stupid too. Ranking the support for each candidate gets you Stephan Dion winning the Liberal leadership. You get people who's only the first choice of very few of the electorate winning because they're the 2nd or 3rd choice of the most people. Losers end up winning.
  20. I think all polls are BS. I think the science is flawed and they do damage to the democratic process. I wish the process would stop. But I remember some Dippers on this site saying the NDP are doing so well in Ontario now. How did they get that figure? Polls. Polls are the only way to gauge if a party is doing well or not. And even if independent pollsters didn't do it, the parties would so it ain't gonna stop. As for the land-line argument. Only old people vote for the NDP and the Liberals? What if they access cell numbers in their calling practices?
  21. Tablets are cool if you're a casual computer user. Most people are and that's why people get tabs now. Apple is ripping people off with their iPhone product. Now they're changing the wired adapter. The iPhone5 changes the proportions of the screen so older apps will have letterboxes. It's only matched year old Galaxy phones in terms of RAM and Speed. No NFC which could be the future of purchasing products. The only positive is that they finally got around to offering 4G/LTE. The new OS is nifty but you won't need an iPhone5 to enjoy it. The iPod Touch line is even more hilarious. It's minimum price is still $200! You can get a quality Tab for that. If you don't have a smartphone and you want an Mp3 player, you can get a Nano, Shuffle or a $20 player at the grocery store. Most people's exposure to iOS (I know mine is) is getting the iPod Touch because smartphone penetration wasn't nearly as much as it is now. Pretty much if you want a new phone from carriers you have to get a smartphone now.(with an Mp3 player included) But now the idea of an iPod Touch is outdated. That's why there's no competition.
  22. That's funny when democracy doesn't go your way, you just call the electorate stupid. It was a stupid system, that's why it was defeated. The purpose of the FPTP system is to get a broader representation of in the legislator. The Liberals can't get elected simply because 90% of the people in 3 urban centres vote for them. Damned the rest of the country. Each riding is fought with a fair popular-vote decided election. Want a perfect proportional system? Only have a legislator with 10 or 20 seats. Each seat is dictated by a certain percentage of the vote. Of course that removes anyone having a local representative. Meaning few local issues will be discussed.
  23. I know the system. Toronto is thinking of deciding the mayor that way. To do that system we'd have to change our fused parliament. In our current system. The the election is decided by popular votes. I just in separate riding. I don't think there's much appetite to change the system.
  24. The iBook is what apples laptops uses to be called. Those gaudy things made of translucent coloured plastic
