  1. Well the BC NDP haven't actually gained any support from the BC Liberals.
  2. I just noticed recent polls have her a bit lower then I thought.
  3. But the thing is she's really not that unpopular.
  4. She has actually been criticized for announcing policy without it being well thought out. Last year she made a bit of a fool of herself after announcing two different senate reform ideas within 24 hours, one being totally off the wall. I remember seeing an article at the time comparing her to Gordon Campbell, and it said how he never spoke on issues without having the policy well thoughtout but she had tended to do the opposite. A bit of a rooke mistake probably and she will, or probably has, learnt from that mistake.
  5. I can't stand her! Everytime he speaks she drives me nuts. However, she is not unpopular. The fact that she is or has been a federal Liberal has alienated staunch conservatives so they've just simply found another option.
  6. I don't want to stir a pot I want Quebec to separate.
  7. No but I haven't heard them mention the need for by-elections. Peggy Nash has said her riding was targeted and her main opponent has said the same thing, all I'm wondering is if they believe democracy was jeopardized in the riding would Nash be willing to run in a byelection to show that her win was legitimate. Elections Canada will decide if byelections are necessary in certain ridings but you would think if MPs didn't agree they won fairly they'd be willing to run again, MPs of all parties should believe in that.
  8. Wasn't their a poll just recently showing separatism at over 40%?
  9. So what about a gun registry or private health care? This stuff is rarely mentioned to the public so I have no idea where the NDP stand.
  10. If they can help in a referendum more power to them!
  11. They managed to win a huge majority of the seats in 1993 after coming out of nowhere. And can you honestly say that the NDP were well organized in Quebec heading into the 2011 election?
  12. I thought he did well, a bit to aggressive but I can't blame him. Especially seeing Julian wouldn't answer questions.
  13. So if they brought in a national daycare system, or a gun registry they wouldn't impose it on provinces if they didn't want it, as well as allow them to explore alternative forms of health car delivery?
  14. If the NDP believe in asymmetrical federalism, does that mean they are willing to give the provinces more authority? Are we looking at more decentralized provinces under an NDP government?
  15. So now alleged that Rathika Sitsabaiesan may have won election because of voter fraud. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2012/03/13/voting-scarborough.html If the NDP and Liberals feel that by-elections should be held in ridings that were targeted will their MPs step down I wonder? Both Peggy Nash and Gerard Kennedy say their riding was targeted so you would think both would be willing to have a by-election wouldn't you?
  16. At least Dion was opposing the Bloc Quebecois, as opposed to the NDP who were mimicking them.
  17. I'm assuming this race will be more exciting then the NDP's leadership race, but when will it kick off is what I'm wondering now?
  18. I'd say it would for any party. Harper was a supporter of electoral reform.
  19. What are you talking about federal spending for? Did you read the article and the chart?
  20. I am constantly worried about imaginary crime.
  21. Looking at what province's spend per capita is a lot more complicated then just looking at the number. It's a lot cheaper to provide services in some province's then other, that's why equalization needs reforming. Alberta, Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador all lose out on equalization and those provinces should work together to have reforms implemented.
  22. The government is now offering higher severance pay than usual for people who lose their jobs.
  23. Electoral reform is one of their policies now.
