The offshore oil still belongs to Canada. As for giving up the codfish resources we didn't have much choice if we were oing o join Canada, the ocean is the jurisdiction of the federal government as it is in all of Atlantic Canada, the North and BC.
The NDP say they're unlike other parties and that everybody will be happy after the convention no matter who's leader but I am think they could be in for a fright.
The only MLA to endorse Clark has turned out to be a complete disaster. She appointed him to cabinet after her win, only to demote him months later. Now he has resigned from cabinet after leaking an email.

I now think Mulcair has to much momentum to lose. He continues to announce high profile endorsements and the majority of people don't seem to bothered by him wanting to modernize the party. With the remainder of the leftier candidates still being 4 it will probably be to hard for one to come out on top, especially with Cullen's support building. I had thought and hoped Peggy Nash could narrowly defeat him on the last ballot but she doesn't seem strong enough anymore.
What difference did it really make if the Bloc Quebecois had representation in the House of Commons or not, with regards to how strong separatism is in Quebec?
National systems drive me nuts.
I still don't understand the NDP position though, they want to implement a cap and trade system so how would that be done when some provinces don't want it and think it would hurt their economies.
Newfoundland could have been its own country, the UK favoured us joining Canada though.
As for 50% + 1 Newfoundland probably shouldn't have joined Canada with only 51% support, especially seeing it was likely rigged.
