  1. Harper said he'd balance the budget as well, probably the reason why both him and Dexter are so unpopular.
  2. Just like the election Dexter had after he went back on raising taxes... Oh wait. Did Romanow campaign on closing hospitals?
  3. I guess we aren't electing good politicians.
  4. Yeah because the NDP would have done that if they veered of its platform.
  5. You also vote for people to stand up for you, your MP should reflect their constituents views.
  6. Just one poll of course. I'm not sure exactly what she has planned but I believe she has talked about free votes on social issues, and she has mentioned referendums but I don't know if it applies to these issues.
  7. I agree with waiting to change the MP pension plan till have the next election, MPs are people too and ran knowing the current pension plan. From people I've spoken to in the federal government the departments are working with employees so that many younger workers don't lose their jobs and those that want to leave do.
  8. I believe there was a merger.
  9. It seems that Smith is supportive of having red light districts. However her position on many social issues seems to be that the public should have a say, and in this case she knows it's not a popular idea. As well just because someone believes in libertarian principles doesn't mean they have to have libertarian views on every single issues.
  10. I really like Danielle Smith. I'm actually surprised people consider the party to be radical, I consider myself to be socially liberal and haven't see anything that scares me about the party. I find Harper much scarier then Smith. I don't think all of Smith's policies could work in every province but I think she has great policies for Alberta
  11. I saw Dave Rutherford on Power Play and he said that public dissatisfaction is building after 40 years of PCs and he's expecting a big Wildrose win, he started to say they'd sweep but then corrected himself because of Edmonton.
  12. We have a newly appointed Auditor General, one of the most important bureaucratic positions in Canada, who is not bilingual. I have a number of family members in both St. John's and Ottawa who are federal government employees and none of them speak a bit of French.

  14. While he wasn't as personally popular at the time as Christy Clark Kevin Falcon would have been a much better choice for leader. If he was leader it's unlikely the Conservative Party would have grown in support. Clark was able to use her high-profile to sign up new members, it's not surprising anymore that the only caucus support she was able to get was from a complete fool.
  15. No, there was just something I liked about him.
  16. I've always liked Christian Paradis for some reason.
  17. Hopefully someday that's all Quebeckers will have to think about.
  18. I agree that the Liberals are likely doomed but that doesn't change the fact that they are in government in PEI.
  19. You said they weren't in power east of Ontario, if you're that ignorant to not consider a province of 140,000 important enough that's not my problem. What difference does it make to you what kind of federalist I am or what kind of Newfoundlander I am? Especially seeing it has nothing to do with the topic of the thread.
  20. Are you going to answer my question or just spew BS?
  21. The Liberals are the government in PEI.
  22. So where does rebuilding start?
